Rahm is On the Job
- Mayor Rahm Emanuel checked on the city's response to the snow and bitter cold on Tuesday.
He met with the director of the Office of Emergency Management and Communications and the Streets and Sanitation commissioner.
He also visited snow command, the place where Streets and Sanitation dispatchers monitor road conditions.
Next thing you know, he'll be driving a plow himself.
Of course, he'll be driving it up and down his block. And Madigan's.

"Hey, did you get my buddy Bobby's block yet? No? Get some guys over there. Now!
How about my big donor Ed? You gotta get his block cleared now. He lives right over here. Let me show you on the map. Come on, let's go!
The taxpayers? Eh. The little people can wait."
He was down there to tell Streets & San to be frugal with the salt.
It's all under control, a retired Gold Star is collecting a 2nd pension calling the shots at Streets& San. F'ng Joke, keep making a difference Stooges.
Such hysteria over winter weather in Chicago near a 'Huge' lake especially from the news media. These Puppies would never have lasted in the real Blizzard of 1967.
Artic Vortex II, the dangers of active global warming. Of course da mayor is on the job. He cares, he really really cares. I bet he even walked to work.
Rahm's plow will have a golden plow blade and training wheels!
Inside it would have a kings chair and a TV with a stock ticker so he can keep an eye on his investment of that $18 million dollar nest egg that was gift wrapped for him from Rauner.
so we heard gary mccarthy on the radio today trying to stoke fear into the community when he was asked what he thought about obama's comments hinting on marijuana decriminalization ..
gary said..'people don't understand the violence connection' to weed. blah..blah.
hey, look..they don't want to stop the drugs it's a tool.
it's a tool to collect protection money from chicago residents [ they call it taxes - we call it protection money]
it's a tool to get federal grants.
you legalize marijuana and maybe the gangs could not afford to purchase illegal weapons. there goes your tool. chicago loses this million dollar federal grant for example...
Sen. Kirk: $18.5 million in federal money to be used to combat gangs
Medill Reports: Chicago-7 hours ago
Sen. Mark Kirk, center, and Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy,
can you connect the dots
remember during prohibition of alcohol an awful lot of people were gunned down. what happened to the violence after alcohol was legalized.
when you hear the phrase we are doing everything in our power to protect the children and to stop the gun violence it's a lie
instead we have the doj gun running to cartels in mexico so chicago doesn't lose it's tool,
can you connect the dots.
which brings us to another point when it comes to mass shootings and doing everything in our power to protect the children as the mayor claims
'America's most popular prescription sleep medication linked to mass shootings'
http://rt.com/usa/popular-sleep-medication-linked-shooting-915/
... “After taking AMBIEN, you may get up out of bed while not being fully awake and do an activity that you do not know you are doing,” the label currently reads. “The next morning, you may not remember that you did anything during the night…Reported activities include: driving a car (“sleep-driving”), making and eating food, talking on the phone, having sex, sleep-walking.”
In the courtroom, cases related to Ambien use have ranged from shootings to child molestation charges to car accidents.
[see the above link for example court cases]
and it's not just this one drug either. what about the violence tied to all these psychotropic drugs, the ssri class with the huge black box warnings on the boxes that explain the bad things that can happen when one suddenly stops taking them
got any compstats on that
gary..rahm.. the violence that these prescription drugs are causing -- [[[ crickets ]]]
no i didn't think so.
chicago just-us strikes again.
like the exploding number of robberies and thefts and beatings related to smart phones rahm and gary don't have the balls to demand that phone manufacturers install kill switches making stolen phones in essence a worthless brick.
rahm and gary don't have the balls to demand that att, t-mobil, verizon etc. sell only phones with kill switches.
rahm and gary don't have the balls to draw attention to big pharma's prescription drugs and mass shootings and other related violence they cause.
naw man. rahn and gary is a one trick pony show, unwilling or unable to hit chicago's violent crime problems from all sides. it may have a negative impact on campaign contributions if they do.
naw, just keep trying to feed the public the guns off the street nostrum.
chicago crime is a political tool to grow the cities gdp. think of how they can brag about a growing economy when that 18 million dollar federal grant gets awarded here to be dived up amongst the clouted ones and their friends.
what do y'all think. we can bring back the violence interrupters with that money yes.
think about all that federal money each gunshot wound victim attracts to this city too via obamacare. without the gun violence and illicit drug sales this city would be worse than detroit so fast it would make your head spin.
I noticed this last snowfall actually had a decent response with salt trucks and plows...
so they know good and well the previous effort fell far short in spite of ram's puppets parroting to the contrary in the media.
Why is it whenever Rahm does one of these propaganda photo-ops, they take a bunch of pictures of him pointing off into the distance and gazing intently at nothing?
Sometimes he's pointing something out to a nearby funky flunky for immediate correction.
Gad... It's like he's consulted a book compilation of Roman era statue poses.
"The Big Book Of Imperial Poses For Little Maniacal Shit-Asses"
He seems to emulate Roman Emperor Trajan a lot.
Does williams collect two pensions now. One from the CPD and now Streets and San?
He must be taking photo op lessons from Tom Dart.
Does Rahm visit the warming centers? If he does I'm sure it's the one set up in the lobby of Bloomingdales.
Maybe we will see another photo in the papers of Rahm wearing his white lab coat shoveling snow in front of a cta platform with his ten man security detail strategically positioned around him in plain clothes!

Couldn't agree more. Had togo to the suburbs in the morning. Chicago streets were free of snow and just wet. Got to the suburb,no plowing, no salt and streets covered with snow and a few accidents. You could tell the dividing line between the city and suburb by the condition of the strrets
Rahm, Cholly and Streets 'n Sans Vinnie sat three across in the truck as it plowed thru 1" snow on Hermitage. The bodyguard detail cleared lawnchairs and promptly put them back in place afterwards.
They stole Sandy Jackson's ride-a-long move.
this guy is such a greasy slime ball.
"He was down there to tell Streets & San to be frugal with the salt."
That is right! I saw a truck driver putting in his hours circling his assigned route with a full load of salt. Interestingly, the truck driver never activated the hopper mounted on the rear of the truck to dispense the salt. So, in actuality, all that the truck was doing was going through the motions.
Did anyone ever stop to ask themselves how people survived in Chicago, BEFORE, they had snow plow and salt trucks. Back in the days before automobiles and back when they had real winters, before modern global warming and mild winters?
Motive in two words...
Photo Op
Can't complain, NW Highway has always been cleared all the way to the city limit, I'm the only city employee on my block and the plow comes down the street after the main ones are done with salt even.
So I take my hat off to those guys !!
Did you guys take a good look at your next candidates for Supt ?? Rham has two choices, Gary " i dont know anything about emergencies" Shankle. Or Charlie "the Rat" Williams.
I got a laugh when you said Rahm will drive a snow plow. When I was a kid, my parents and I lived in Calumet City on Forsythe Avenue. After the January, 1967 snow, the Mayor of Cal City decided to show his residents he was hard working and concerned and he was operating a CC Street Department CAT grader with a wide blade clearing snow on our street at night. Cars were parked on each side of the street and he ripped off the passenger side doors of about 10 parked cars, including my dad's Ford pick-up truck. The City paid for all the damage and it was a big joke in Cal City for years afterward.
Don't people realize when you come in with handfuls of revenue for this slimeball you are feeding this monster.

Most people's houses were heated with coal. After the coal burned up the ashes left over were called clinkers and it was my job and later on my brother's job to shovel the clinkers out of the furnace and keep them in buckets or boxes. My dad always kept a box or bucket of clinkers in the car to throw under the wheels for traction or to throw in the alley in back of our house. Clinkers is how we did it. We didn't convert to an oil burning furnace until the late 1960's
OT sort of....anyone see Swan Lake on TV today talking about his projection for tourism increase? Really? You hold a press conference for THAT?
Narcissistic a-hole.

Rahm driving a plow?
Can he even see over the steering wheel?
