100+ Years

  • The gunman in the fatal drive-by shooting of Chicago Police Officer Alejandro “Alex” Valadez was sentenced to 105 years in prison Wednesday while his co-defendant received a 120-year prison sentence.

Christopher Harris, the shooter, and Kevin Walker, who was behind the wheel when the bullets fired, were convicted in October of the June 1, 2009, killing in a vacant Englewood lot.

Before Harris’ sentencing, Valadez’s police officer sister, Brenda Valadez, talked in court about how she and two of her siblings became cops because they wanted to make a difference.
RIP Officer Valadez.

SCC again best summed it up by their initial and closing comments...

"A small measure of justice."
"RIP Officer Valadez."

Allow me to add that he will remain in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.

It's not how long the sentence, it's how long they serve it that matters. The answer is "not long enough".

It won't bring back the dead anyway.

Not from Chicago, but Officer Valdez will be missed; an asset to Chicago and all communities .
His murderers, not now, not ever.

Texas by the way, is slowly clearing out their Death Row.

2 more on the diving board, about to jump into the abyss known as IDOC. Heads will be shaved to avoid being grabbed by the dreads in prison yard fights.
