Primary Election Day

Today, we figure out who will be in the fall election for the privilege of destroying our golden years. We have the following suggestions:
  • If you want to stop Rauner, who is on the record as wanting/willing to work with Rahm, end all public pensions and restrict the Constitutional Rights of gun owners, then you have to do something that many of you have never done before in your life - pull a Republican ballot. You'll notice right away how short it is. Republicans have not fielded candidates for a vast majority of the offices up for a vote this November. At least that will save you time. None of the Republicans/republicans running are optimal candidates, but we recommend Kirk Dillard. He's willing to work to actually reform the system, not jettison it. He isn't lying when he says there will be some pain on both sides, but at least he isn't Rauner.

  • If you are so brainwashed as to have to pull a democratic ballot, you are going to be in there for a while. You are going to be voting for the same people, the same ones who have been misspending your tax money, giving it to connected companies, professional victims and assorted others. While we recommend voting "NO" or "Hell No" on every single judicial candidate, there is a website that has a pretty comprehensive background on the candidates. If you're going to vote for judges, at least be informed about it.

  • If you sit home, don't come here bitching about it.
That is all.

Shame on the Republican Party for not filling in empty spots and not forcing Brady and the closet freak from dropping out of the race. That would give Dillard a huge lead to beat 9 digit midget's fake republican friend.

The fix is already in and the Republican Party is the problem.

I was talking to a small owner business owner acquaintance about Rauner. He's going to vote for him because he's a " business man" and not a " career politician" he really didn't give a fuck that Rauner was going to destroy our pensions. Wether people want to admit it or not, much of the public resents that we even get a pension and they don't.

Sorry SCC, but even with Dillard there'll be pain on our side only as fellow TAXPAYERS, because if any union gives away our pension rights when the constitution protects them then they're a fucking traitor and should be shot without question or debate.

WE don't give away a FUCKING thing when it's protected by state constitution. WE feel EXACTLY THE SAME PAIN AS EVERYONE ELSE WILL WHEN THEY RAISE OUR TAXES JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE..... WE bear NO burden to pay higher taxes AND get fucked in pension as well. That's NOT "equal pain" that's putting the higher burden on US as we'll be paying higher taxes on top of losing benefits. NOT gonna happen and no union had better let them get away with making US pay a higher price than the rest of the entire city will.

So you can stow your "pensioners are gonna have to take cuts AND pay higher taxes" bullshit. We're not gonna take it up the ass so politicians can keep stealing from the poor and giving to the rich with OUR fucking money now.

Voting for Rauner is voting for Rahm. Rauner supports charter schools as a money maker. He plans to tax retiree's pensions. This is my frst republican ballot but we need to make a stand. Of course, trying to get police to vote as a bloc is near impossible.

Brady has no money, surprising for someone who came so close last time.

The big winner in the Rutherford controversy seems to be Dillard. (Hmmm...)

I don't want Rauner as my candidate, let alone my governor for four years. We need to stop him now.

Vote Republican this primary, vote for Dillard.

Most of them aren't even registered to vote. True. They think that will keep them from being called for jury duty. God forbid they give some time to do their civic duty. It might interrupt VRI or the kid's hockey or time with the girlfriend.

I read comments on this blog from people too busy to do anything other then complain on this blog about the FOP. Too busy to call, too busy to go down there, too busy to go to FOP meetings. But the lazy bastards can complain about the union while having zero involvement. How do they find time to go to work?

"The fix is already in and the Republican Party is the problem."

Another factor is that the Democrats have infiltrated the Republican Party of Cook County and their stooges generally sabotage the Republican candidates by a) not recruiting and slating candidates; and b) undermining those who actual do run. This scam used to be confined to Chicago, but it has spread to some of the suburbs too.

It is damn criminal that so many police officers cannot be bothered to vote.

FOP did not endorse a Rep candidate for Governor.
FOP is endorsing candidates that are primarily Democrats, WHICH WILL REQUIRE A DEMOCRAT BALLOT.
Be aware of this if you were intending to
VOTE AGAINST RAUNER, (Rahm's pal who wants to reform and tax state pensions).
A vote for any FOP endorsed Democratic candidate improves Rauners chance to diminish YOUR pension.

We have to think about the who will govern the State, (not judges, and State reps) and how it will affect our future and current Pension.

"If you want to stop Rauner, who is on the record as wanting/willing to work with Rahm, end all public pensions and restrict the Constitutional Rights of gun owners..." -- SCC

SCC, I think you are on the right track here. While Rauner has been putting on ball caps and Carhartt work clothes and running around downstate trying to convince the fine people down there that he's a reg'lar s__tkickin' guy, he is actually in the Inner Circle, the Barack Obama/Valerie Jarrett/Rahm Emanuel "Rolodex Of Evil."

Of course, he is a wealthy financial speculator from Winnetka, a "bundler" who has given millions to Democratic candidates and causes -- and gotten millions from the same Inner Circle.

Donors find no great divide between Emanuel and Rauner

"Rahm Emanuel and Bruce Rauner cross paths in a number of junctures.

"Perhaps most notably, however, is their shared access to Chicago’s elite billionaire’s club.

"An analysis of campaign contributions since Emanuel ran for mayor and since Rauner launched his gubernatorial campaign shows an overlap of more than 100 campaign contributors.

"Among them: businessmen with some of the deepest pockets in the state, if not the world. Three of the overlapping donors — Ken Griffin, Joseph Mansueto and Eric Lefkofsky — landed on the 2013 Forbes list of billionaires. Members of Chicago’s Crown family, which has an estimated worth of $4 billion, also contributed to both campaigns. The Crown family also contributed to former Mayor Richard M. Daley.

"Mansueto, founder and CEO of Morningstar Inc., last year was 260th on the Forbes billionaire’s list with $2.1 billion. (Mansueto is also an investor in Wrapports LLC, the owner of the Chicago Sun-Times and the Chicago Reader.)

"Another overlapping donor is Matthew Hulsizer, who co-founded Peak6 Capital Management, which manages money for high net worth clients. Peak6 has more than $1 billion under management.

"Griffin, who is the founder and CEO of Citadel, is perhaps the wealthiest businessman in the state and among the richest on the planet with a net worth at $4.4 billion. He has sunk cash into both Emanuel and Rauner’s kitties...."

Were you too busy to vote? Thanks. Now Rahm got his flunky in to fuck you out of your pension.

The only hope now is to back Quinn, a dumb fuck incompetent, so the sly Rauner doesn't get a chance to stick it up your ass.

Nothing will change until the morons on the southwest side figure out that Madigan is bad. He's not just a crooked machine politician who takes care of the neighborhood and those around him. He will turn around and fuck every city, county and state worker's pension before he decides to retire then they have no one to blame but themselves.

What's more important to you? Paved streets or a pension?

To the guy with the kickass black Mustang convertible, parked in front of the handicap access at Christopher House yesterday...
You had a Board of Election placard on your dashboard and it reflects badly on the Board of Elections when you're rude and block the disabled from parking or entering the polling place. Not to mention, blocking the access of parents with small children loading and unloading in front of their own daycare center. The signs say no parking. The special 'election day' sign for disabled parking was clearly posted right where you parked. But you left your car there, right in the middle of three parking spaces for more than an hour, and strutted around, chatting and laughing and backslapping like you were just the most special person ever. What an embarrassment.

Again I voted for the loser. I'm looking for ways to make money on my own and then leave this shit city and state where people are fine with the status quo. Lazy fucks who incessantly bitch couldn't get off your asses to vote. Even my wife didn't vote.. Too tired. WTF?? I don't wanna hear any bitching when the pensions are GONE! I'm making change for myself and getting the fuck out of this state.

The ONE benefit we get from Rauner is a end to "permanent rulers" in office for life - a.k.a.- Madigan.

Also, if you think that Rauner is a threat to our gun rights, keep in mind that the Illinois NRA lobbyists pulled all training credits/exemptions for all retired and former police officers, in the new Ill. concealed carry bill.

We get zero credit for our police academy, years of training, or experience,
but anyone who takes a one day NRA-run beginner course gets a automatic 8 hours credit no matter how long ago they took the course.

Rauner is not a threat to our gun rights, but the Illinois NRA ensured all retired or former Illinois LE get no training credit as exists in all other 49 states.

While the pension issue is a worry, Rauner is going to use a lot of his cred moving the "term limits" promise and that at least ensures no more Madigan(s).

Thank you, kind sir!

John Kass calls this crew "The Combine."

It is all more horribly true than we can imagine. Barely scratch the surface and you'll find...

In Banking, Emanuel Made Money and Connections

"One of Mr. Emanuel’s major deals was the purchase in 2001 of a home alarm business, SecurityLink, from SBC Communications, the telecommunications company that was run by William M. Daley, the former secretary of commerce in the Clinton administration and the brother of Chicago’s mayor.

"Mr. Emanuel represented GTCR Golder Rauner, a Chicago private equity firm that was buying the business for an affiliate. Bruce Rauner, the firm’s chairman, had first met Mr. Emanuel when he was still exploring job prospects in Chicago after getting a call from Mr. Bowles, an old friend.

"Instead of private equity, Mr. Rauner advised Mr. Emanuel to pursue investment banking, where his political experience might be more valuable in landing deals in regulated industries.

"Mr. Emanuel called him back after starting at Wasserstein and asked if he could take over coverage of GTCR for his new employer. That eventually led to the nearly $500 million SecurityLink deal...."

Around and around the Rolodex spins -- $$$ ka-ching! $$$ ka-ching!

What a dope. The IL CC Bill has zero effect on retired LEO. I don't give a shit what the other 49 states do with their CC because as retired law enforcement I carry concealed under HR 218 “Law Enforcement Officers’ Safety Act” a Federal Law, the hell with what the State of Illinois or the NRA do. I still have my Illinois Law Enforcement Officer certification that came with 200 hours of firearms training. You can do whatever you want with IL CC bills. Just don't contaminate any of my family's DNA.

As a retired officer in good standing I qualify under IROCC, Illinois Retired Officers Concealed Carry. Go ahead on with your bullshit moron. And find some more good about Rauner. Hey, even Satan Daley might have liked little kids at one point in his life.

Rauner is the anti-christ along with his blood brother, Rahm Emanuel.

3/18/2014 02:32:00 PM

Voting is over, so I am not a shill. Did you do any research yourself? If you did you missed a whole lot.

Dillard got a whole lot of money from the DEMOCRATIC teachers union. They move their support over to Governor PotatoeHead in the Novenmber election and Boom! 4 more years of the Democrat.

Rauner may not be perfect, but he is a better shot against PotatoeHead and he may just put this state back in the black ink.

3/19/2014 05:21:00 AM

Oh my, another one. The unions gave him money because they are trying to save our pensions. Public safety workers must think about what benefits us and it is NOT Bruce Rauner. Hold your nose in November and vote for Quinn and at least pretend you care about our pensions.

3/18/2014 05:05:00 AM

You can thank the republican hedge fund billionaires for successfully brainwashing the private sector with that attitude against public pensioners. Wall Street successfully turned the private sector pensions into 401Ks decades ago. After destroying private sector retirements, the next and only biggest pool of money to steal is public pensions. There is no more candy jars for them, that's what all this is about.

Rauner would NOT be king.
He cannot snap his fingers and make term limits happen.
But it sure sounds good, that he's a proponent of term limits, now doesn't it? It MEANS NOTHING!
It's just more spin, just like Rahm.

know my alderman won't like it (yes, they do check the lists when you call to ask for City service or some cooperation on a project), but I pulled a republican ballot.
The people at the desk actually said, "Another one?"
Talked to Dad tonight and he said he did the same and got the same reaction. Cousin who's a lifelong Democrat, whose parents were well-known in the party, same thing.
Whether he won it or not, this kind of voter behavior HAS to get their attention. The little people are getting tired of being treated like the little people.

You just needed to make a smartass comment, didn't you? Doesn't matter what it said, it just had to be smartass.
Just for the record, I've always thought for myself. I've never voted a straight ticket in my thirty plus years of voting and I doubt I ever will. There's talent on both sides of the fence and only an idiot picks one ticket or the other without any research or thought process.

What's your point? If this millionaire is going to cut our modest pensions, I won't vote for him, period. As for term limits, good luck getting that or anything else passed down in Springfield where democrats hold the majority.
This primary was very telling, Rauner outspent the Dems, by millions yet only managed a weak 3% victory, (it was supposed to be a slam dunk). The unions proved that they still can have a profound impact on outcome of elections. The general election will have a bigger turnout, my early guess is Quinn will win. The worst part of this whole scenario, is that our only choice is to vote for either one of these two idiots.

Coppers that are worried about their pension are afraid to pull a republican ballot because they might not get a new garbage can!
This city will never recover from the democrats that continue to decimate it and rule the sheeple. We got Rauner who wants our guns and pensions. We got Quinn who wants our guns and pensions and pardons murderers to kill our own. Start researching all these politicians with their families, and all their horrible deeds that are all intertwined over the past decades. How can you vote for people who are destroying your life and country! We are all doomed!

Interesting conclusion you drew, but totally wrong.
I took my elderly aunt to vote. I waited outside fifteen minutes. Then I drove her to a friend's house nearby and left her chatting while I ran an errand(which required passing the poll), then drove back to get her, then drove past the polling place again, then drove her home and then drove myself home, going past the polling place yet again.

So, no, I didn't sit there fuming. And I didn't stop to berate him or get into an altercation with him, though I did go past the place half a dozen times in the next hour after auntie voted. I'll leave going toe to toe with arrogant guys like him to arrogant guys like you.

I don't hold allegiances to political parties, but instead to conservative & traditional values. For that very reason I find myself voting in different party primaries. This time I pulled a Dem. ballot to vote against far left candidates like "Reyes & Guzzardi" and some others. Yes, there are still Reagan Democrats out there as well as "French Republicans" and Dillard is one of them. Now on to the General election to vote for the Rauner who is the best choice to save our State as Walker did in Wis. In only eight months, Rahm will have to submit his legal papers for re-election and I hope by then someone other than that race baiting "Prickwrinkles" submits their papers to challenge this damn closet freak & pagan we have sitting in our mayor' office. I hope we can send him back to the damn place he came from. However, I still can't decide between Dean or Bill, even though I voted for Dean the first time around. I just can't get over "the secret ballot" vote by Dean Jr. What are they thinking??
