Dave, you are a great man and I am proud to call you a friend. Just over ten years ago, we finished the Academy and shipped it to the West Side. Then years later, TRU. I was always happy to see you backing me up when I was calling for an assist, someone I could always depend on.

We will miss you Dave, please keep an eye out for all of us down here, until we meet again.

Rest in Peace.

"I sped ahead. . .to see who was driving the van and then we saw that it was a female driver and as she drove. . . she scratched the van on the side of the road and she got off on 87th," Gomilla said. "If I went a 100 to get past the (police) to see what was going on. . .she had to be going 120, 135. That’s how fast she was going.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is fucked up on so many levels. First, this goof had to speed up (doing 100 by her own account) just to see what's going (knowing it's a police matter) as she "passed the Police. . . . ."

What the hell does she really "need to know." Also, was this her complete unabridged quote or is the asshole reporter selectively quoting her to make his liberal point.

Tragic. RIP Officer.

Any copper that talks to the news media is an asshole plain and simple. That's what they want you to do their job. Fuck them and fuck the bosses that want you to fill in the time slot for them. Look at the picture of the retired sergeant that they published with him wearing that stupid gat. It is just amazing that the always seam to find a picture of Dog ass in a cap and gown even though it is a grade school photo from as many as 15 years earlier. They don't show the ones of the tattoos and gang representing. Remember lil Trevon? That was a pic of him when he was 12 yrs old. They wouldn't 't show a current one. In my opinion, there is only one thing that matters in this situation.... Dave and his family.

It is not an understatement to say , the department and this city suffered a horrible loss in the untimely and unfair death of one of the finest Police Officers I have ever met. I have worked for several Police Departments before I came to CPD. I have met and worked with many officers over the last 20 years. Dave was.... irreplaceable. Period.

From a troll: 10:35:00 is right on. ABC 7 shows people beefing about the police chasing these two pieces of shit in the first place. I don't want to second guess the chase. You can easily argue the merits of a chase. The fact is when the police light you up, you grab a piece of the curb. If you run, what happens then is on you. These two assholes don't care to follow that rule. And the woman has a history of driving without license offenses. She was an accident waiting to happen. Now lets lock her ass up for five to ten years. That's how you should roll. But prayers for him and his family. He seems to be a decent man who was loved and held in respect by many. I have respect for him and gratitude for his service to our city. Now lets take of his wife and boys.

Folks, please stop with the "Monday Morning Quarterbacking" of the tragedy from the other day. We in LE have all partook of pursuits, and unfortunately, tragic events and even deaths can be the end result. I'm sure the officers from Cal City are sick to their stomachs over what happened. I'm sure the early morning hours, and light traffic on the expressway led them to continue. Any injuries and/or deaths that may result are tragic, however the resulting blame should be placed on the ones who decided to flee from the police in the first place.
Enough of the finger-pointing and blame laying. Please keep this officer's family and friends in your prayers, and hope that they may see through this tragedy. Also, keep in your prayers our brother & sister officers from Cal City who I'm sure are taking this just as hard. Hopefully justice will be served swiftly and correctly on the Offenders who caused all of these events to happen!

Hardheaded. Holdin onto investment. Could have scattered it into 100 + MPH breeze on the Ryan, but held onto it until crash, then drops some out window. Plop, there it lays.

That's -- cold? No. But stupid.
