Memorial Week

We got word kind of late and we hear the hotel situation is a bit tight. Here's some helpful info though.

Here's a link to some of the hotels that offer discounts and have rooms set aside.

And retired Sergeant Al P has once again posted a pretty thorough "how to do Washington DC" file on the Sergeants Association website (FOP didn't). More hotels (including discounts), airports, a schedule of events, and all sorts of extras. We can't recall a more comprehensive listing.

So if you're getting ready for DC, don't forget these links.

When I went I used vrbo.com. It worked well for me. That may be an option if the hotel situation is bad.

Dougherty and the FOP lost all the limited duty spots. Everyone who is sick at call back got letters from the city. Retire, go back to full duty or go into a no pay status. Just call and ask someone who works there, another big loss by the citywide team. Dougherty is sending out a letter saying he can get Dean Angelo back to limited duty in two weeks. More lies from a desperate politician.

It took BILL DOUGHERTY about 4-5 days to call a special executive board meeting to hear charges on JIMMY " the recorder" MORIARITY when charges were filed on him, YET, its been about 5-6 weeks since charges were filed on RICH AGUI-LIAR.
Apparently, once again BILL "the weasel" DOUGHERTY finds no reason to hear charges on AGUI-LIAR since that's his "GUY", right BILLY ???
As anyone can see, it's all about BILL DOUGHERTY and his "SHITTYWIDE" SLATE of fools.
Perhaps BILL DOUGHERTY beleives the letters FOP stand for "FUCK OUR POLICE" since all you do is that.
Enjoy your FINAL days BILLY BOY, 022 Dist has a special spot for you, I'm sure.
Thank you SCC

Interesting...In 2010 31 percent of the early voters asked for Republican ballots. This year it was 46.5%. Looks like union voters are pulling R ballots.

That arbitration award got police officers one more year than the Sgt's got. Dean is off on IOD disability and there is no limitations on IOD limited duty. That is what the order says.

Total BS regarding some alleged letter to callback.... Get your facts straight nimrod it's because of people like you that fucked up rum ors get started. The REAL story is..... Anyone who is on limited duty and hasn't renewed their status or it has EXPIRED.... They must either renew it if possible, or go back to full duty if not eligible for limited duty. Other option is medical time then if ALL of the above are exhausted then no pay status is applied.

TOTAL BULLSHIT. IOD limited duty office.r have UNLIMITED LIGHT DUTY. You could be on it for many years, like Mike LAppe who can barely fucking walk. Officers on NON-IOD limited duty have two years of LD available to use. Stop fucking lying!

During my career, there are two dates that I will take to my grave. Both involved my role in the double murders of Chicago police officers, all of whom were personal friends. The nights of May 13, 1990 and July 17, 1970 as a young homicide detective.

You will note that on the southwest corner of Larrabee and Division Sts., the "honorary" street signs commemorate the latter--the sniper assassination of Jim Severin and Tony Rizzato in Cabrini-Green.

I want all of you to know that there is one police officer responsible for honoring Jim and Tony with the street signs--a class act named AL PIANTKOWSKI!

Love ya, Al!

Now if only some 025 folks would get it together to honor two of my best guys as a supervising sergeant at the corner of Nordica and Palmer where I found them mortally wounded in a garage--Greg HAUSER and Ray KILROY.

OT: regarding the election,

A Message for Members from ISRA PVF
Dear ISRA members,

I wanted to send you one more email before the Tuesday primary election noting an important fact. Besides the fact that Kirk Dillard has a track record that has always supported gun owners, one of the important considerations in Illinois State Rifle Association Political Victory Fund's (ISRA-PVF) endorsement of Dillard over Brady is that Senator Brady was the only Republican State Senator to vote against the funding for the implementation of concealed carry. As you know, Kirk Dillard was the original sponsor of concealed carry in the '90s when "it wasn't cool."

Kirk Dillard also is against the assault weapons ban, has voted that way, and has even put that in writing.

As I said in my earlier email, gun owners have a friend in all three candidates-Kirk Dillard, Bill Brady, and Dan Rutherford. However, Kirk Dillard has the broad crossover appeal to beat Pat Quinn. We need a pro-gun Governor badly. Please vote for Kirk Dillard for Governor on Tuesday, March 18th, 2014. Remember to tell your family, friends, neighbors, and everyone you know to do the same.

Thank you!

Richard A. Pearson
Chairman
ISRA-PVF

The ISRA-PVF is a political action committee affiliated with the Illinois State Rifle Association. A copy of our report is on file with the Illinois State Board of Elections.

OT: March 18 Primary Election Day
FOP is endorsing candidates that are primarily Democrats, WHICH WILL REQUIRE A DEMOCRAT BALLOT.
Be aware of this if you were intending to
VOTE AGAINST RAUNER, (Rahm's pal who wants to reform and tax state pensions).
A vote for any FOP endorsed Democratic candidate improves Rauners chance to diminish YOUR pension.

Theres a few qualified and worthy candidates on the FOP list that i want to vote for too, but it's amazing how Chicago politics works. There's no choice for Governor, hmmm?
DILLARD, BRADY OR RUTHERFORD?
We have to think about the who will govern the State and how it will affect our future Pension, not judges, reps and board members that are low priority at this time.

Here's an FYI to the poster who claims all the limited duty spots are gone. Wrong! Anyone on IOD who can work limited duty can do so for an unlimited time period. Check your Department Orders.

Only the spots held by those injured off of the job are gone, but they still get the free ride for two years. Gee, doesn't sound like much of a loss to me.

If you guys are gonna make shit up, at least make shit up that can't be verified. Now, go get your fuckin shine box.

Re: Honorary street sign designation for the intersection of Nordica and Palmer to honor the memories of our fallen Officers Gregory HAUSER and Raymond KILROY.

I already made an attempt to "get the ball rolling" several years ago with the then C.O., 25th Dist. and a former 36th Ward assistant and 25th Dist. lieutenant, now deceased.

Contact former CFD firefighter and current 36th Ward Ald. Nick Sposato and make it happen.
