The members appear to be sound asleep no concern to vote no concern about nothing. It is hard to believe that a number of these people elected only attended their required 5 meetings no other experience and will now be part of the leadership, so do not complain. As usual the retirees voted. Now there will be a runoff and you will have only one box to fill in put it into the secret envelope then into the large mailing envelope seal it and get it into the closest mail box. For many this will be difficult due to their very busy schedules. Just keep in mind this position is so important and your vote is the most important decision. Think wisely who you want to lead you. Dean Angelo at the board meeting voted No not to remove Shields, and has continually voted along with the whole Shields team. Again vote wisely.
The only reason Dean is still in the race is that no one knew that he and his team were supporting Shields. This time around the facts are clear. I have to say that I am truly disappointed in the whole membership for the choices made in this election. Everyone ranted and raved that they wanted a complete change but wound up electing some of the same people that they were complaining about from the get go. Everyone said the Shields' ticket had to go and then everyone said the Citywide ticket had to go. Now look at who some of you voted in. Great job! Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that everyone on either ticket was bad or ineffective. However, some of the same people that everyone complained about and posted about how terrible they are on this blog wound up getting re-elected. I have to say that after these results, no one, whether you voted or not, (especially the retirees) has the right to speak for the next 3 years. I'm so sick of everyone wanting change then making few changes.
Can we not mess the governatorial race, if Rauner wins expect a 4-9 percent hike in our contribution. The state FOP endorses Dillard. Even if you don't care about politics at least care about your retirement, you worked so hard to get it.

Putting Dean Sr and Junior on the same board would be exactly like have Mike and Dan Shields on the same Board. Dan never voted against his brother once even when it was apparent Mike was completely wrong.
Guys and girls we can't let that happen again. Even if you feel Dougherty isn't the best candidate, he is definitely the better one. He's got my vote. He deserves your vote too.
When, you look at the results, its a clear mix of all three teams. I agree too many retirees. I can't get over how many guys voted for someone that is on disability and can't come to work and answer phones and make reports, but he can teach at Cal College and be Fop president (shameful).

Dean Angelo Jr. voted for Shields to be retained because he knew that if his dad was to run against Shields, Sheilds would surely lose the race due to everyone being pissed off at him. I voted for Dean Angelo jr, now after discovering how he voted on the Shields issue and to keep it secret it's apparent how the team truly thinks. I wish this came out before the voting took place. I did vote for his father as well however that will now change as I have learned through the years the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree. What else will this team try to hide from us? Whatever Dean's disability is, it's irrelevant. He's using it as a diversion, just like a politician.
Don't focus on that and focus on how he screws over everyone and he supported Shields.
Especially his wanting a secret vote.

Not surprised. The comments on this site come from less than 2% of the department (guess). The other 98% do not have tons of information and vote for the names they recognize.

This runoff is a classic case of six of one, half a dozen of the other. They're both terrible choices.

Ray is one classy guy that will do everything he can to help our union. He's not one of these money grubbers (why is the Angelo team the only ones that are going to taket pay cuts?) who you can't trust as far as you can throw. Vote wisely people. Don't listen to these whiners about Dean's disability. God forbid that you are there one day.
And as far as his kid, well, he's in, I'm not thrilled with his secret vote suggestion but don't confuse the two.
Sr will do right by us, we have already seen the hard "work" by Dougherty at our expense, do we need to see more?

The members appear to be sound asleep no concern to vote no concern about nothing. It is hard to believe that a number of these people elected only attended their required 5 meetings no other experience and will now be part of the leadership, so do not complain. As usual the retirees voted. Now there will be a runoff and you will have only one box to fill in put it into the secret envelope then into the large mailing envelope seal it and get it into the closest mail box. For many this will be difficult due to their very busy schedules. Just keep in mind this position is so important and your vote is the most important decision. Think wisely who you want to lead you. Dean Angelo at the board meeting voted No not to remove Shields, and has continually voted along with the whole Shields team. Again vote wisely.
Again, someone spitting out B.S. Many of the members who voted "No" for the removal of Shields did so based on, "due process". Many of them including Jr. believe Shields should be gone.
Dougherty, Aguilar, Donahue, Graham and the rest went about the removal of Shields and did not follow the By-Laws of the lodge. The board members who voted no understand that. Understand how your lodge works before you spew the crap you write. Ask the person or members you write about and ask them why they did it. Understand how your by-laws work and educate yourselves.
That board meeting was six hours long with four hours of it just on Shields and how the board should have addressed this issue in the correct manner.
You write what you don't know and listen to the haters of the past regime whose agenda was to rid Shields from office. Thing is Dougherty & Crew were so anxious and greedy, they didn't follow the rules and now Shields will probably win this thing at the cost of our dues in a lawsuit, because the rules were not followed.
The "no" vote was the right way to go so that Shields received due process and not a sideshow at a General Meeting. Then charges could be re-introduced and placed against Shields.
How the hell did this Ray Casiano Jr get elected. what the hell. We are the most inept individuals to elect this guy. What experience does he have to be there?
By the way officers, A vote for Angelo is truly a vote for Shields.

Since you're too busy to mess with FOP you should thank your lucky stars that so many retirees were elected because they will be working to save the pension that you are helping Rahm take away from you. Just a few things to think about, you pay 9% of your salary to the pension fund $6000-$8000 dollars a year for a 20 year copper. By working any form of special /VRI you are assisting Rahm in taking this money away from you. So if you have 20 years on the job you are saying my $120,000-$160,000 that I have contributed to the pension fund I am conceding to Rahm. You are also conceding the potential to collect $40,000 a year for 20 years or $800,000, a right you earned the day you took this job. How’s your special /VRI looking now?????? This is a marathon, not a sprint. Rahm and all other politicians for every political office/race know you will bust your ass every day to provide for your family and because of your work ethic you take yourself out of the political process and believe whoever says something long enough and loud enough. Take the blinders off long enough to see the big picture. Rahms bending you over and having his way with you and you don't even know it. How are you getting ahead?????????

Yeah let's put a guy in office to represent working coppers that has not seen the inside of a squad car in 12 + years. Doesn't pay union dues and collects $50,000.00 a year from our pension fund from softball injuries. He knows whats going on, right???
