I'm only sorry now that I voted for some of those goofs still loyal to the man child shields, the likes of rick king who apparently had his balls eaten by Bear the German shepherd, and Shogren,Trevino,JAGlowski,Underwood,Doherty Duck horn,Lipka,Flores, shields the brother,
Mike Shields removed as president from FOP Chicago Lodge 7. He had did have his loyal supporters still hanging on and supporting him; He was found guilty on 3 of 4 charges and removed as President of the FOP; Here is how your elected board voted on his removal from office. You do have to give Dean Angelo Jr credit though he tried to get a vote by secret ballot so the Shields supporters would not be associated with their NO vote like they were in this roll call vote that will be part of the minutes of this meeting;
Dean Angelo JR NO Denis Doherty NO Fernando Flores NO Allen Jaglowski NO Rick King NO John Lipka NO Daniel Shields NO Ron Shogren NO Daniel Trevino NO Mike Underwood NO Pat Duckhorn NO
Rich Aguilar YES Michael Burke YES William Burns YES Terry Collins YES Sidney Davis YES Frank DiMaria YES Mark Donahue YES Bill Dougherty Chair does not vote Kevin Graham YES Anna Hanley YES James Moriarty YES Tim Moriarty YES Tim Murphy YES Danny Stover YES John Caparelli YES Dan Gorman YES
Hope you filled out your ballot accordingly sending these Shields/Angelo/Independent Pension Watchdogs a message. Now that's Transparency!!!!!!!!!!!!
9,470 ballots at the post office as of Wednesday, 05 March.
Last election, there was a total of 10,5XX ballots on Election Day.
This shows just how apathetic our membership is. From all indication, there'll probably be right around the same amount of ballots returned as last election. Another shitty showing of +/- 55% of ballots returned after what can only be described as the most tumultuous term Chicago FOP Lodge 7 has ever seen. And no doubt the retirees once more carried this election.
Waste of time, and no I don't complain about this job. I only worry about my pension and healthcare and il say it again not our or any union will be strong enough to make a difference on those 2 issues
Let's state the obvious, of course any P.O. has a right to an opinion regarding the Shield's vote for his removal from office. However, let's be fair to the good reader's of SCC. Bill Dougherty and the "Shittywide Slate" are riding on Bill coming in second with a less than 50% +1 count for Dean Angelo or Tom Mc Donough. No one can predict with great accuracy the outcome of Friday's election until Friday. That being said, it is my opinion that Bill Dougherty is once again using his underhanded, smoke and mirrors, hocus pocus dominocus tactics from the 19th Ward to influence a runoff election. Bll had Rich " I'm the only honest guy at FOP" Agui-liar send SCC the vote tally from Shields hearing on Tuesday, as a measure to discredit Dean Angelo Sr., Tom Mc Donough and the other Presidential candidates, should a very unlikely runoff battle occur. Bill, it's just too late for you to sway the working P.O.'s of this great Department. They have seen your tactics and the Shittywide Slate of Hanger-ons on your ticket. As of Friday-March 7th, 2014, consider your ticket "PUNCHED", as in your face, and just leave out the back door to your #1 Hockey Plate vehicle, as you will have an ample amount of time to regain your "REAL" self in the 022 Dist. Enjoy the time with your new bride and family and always know the FOP will continue without you, cause frankly Bill, contrary to your belief, everyone is replaceable, including "Shittywide". I apoligize for the Rant SCC, but for the love of God, let's just call it like it is. Thank You SCC
Truly pathetic! We chase bad guys with guns, we run in to dangerous situations. Yet when it comes to politics, the only thing we run to is a pile of shit! People bitch and bitch about the union but look at our voter turnout. How can a politician even consider our pension issues with these numbers. They are going to do whatever they want, because face it we don't vote. Not when it matters at least. But throw us a bone, and I am sure no one forgets to summit their request before the 16. Can't wait to hear the, how did this happen? And why didnt anyone do something, when our pensions is dissolved.

Police are predictable, I figured that just like before, half or so of all ballots will be sitting, unopened, on a kitchen table or in a locker. And so it goes.
Same thing with General Elections for mayor, governor etc. Most police do not vote. Period.
Thankfully, I voted for NONE of the NO votes except Duckhorn. He probably feels Shields did not get the benefit of due process, Duckhorn is a decent guy and fought with Mark Donahue also. His vote for Shields is not because he likes the guy, it is principles only.
9400 ballots already in? I'd say that's a pretty good number- we barely have 9000 officers currently working. If the turnout from last election was 10.5k, that's fine because we've had over a thousand people who retired since then, and the city hasn't hired that many in the last 5 years!
coppers are the own worst enemy. they bitch and moan in front of each other but their young lazy asses probably still have their ballot sitting on the countertop at home along with their SUV and Harley payments that are late. sitting around with other coppers talking SHIT and then complain and cry when the vote doesn't go the way they wanted it to go. simple answer is 4 more years of poor management of the FOP.
86 yr old retired PO Dan Healy recently moved to Lifestream Senior Assisted living always reads his FOP newsletters and always caring about the guys and gals we worked with and the "young ones" we didn't meet as they were probably in grade school back in early 80s....well he voted and so did I (62yrs old) retired to Az for the old bones. We worked when there was no union, then we worked when the union came into being, and everybody presented a united front. There were no 17Trustees and there shouldn't be now. Take your union back officers and make it work for you! You just need new blood and to fight out the issues inside the Hall and present a united front outside the Hall; if you want to regroup and be powerful again. The endless backstabbing and airing your filthy little squabbles to the public comes across pathetic and weak. We got better treatment and compensation because we were truly united. Hope you see the wisdom in agreeing to disagree sometimes and just forging ahead as ONE.
Ok about the Yes and Nos but also Who wad there during Mikes time We need new blood Not Rats that jump ship Vote No for Capparelli Follow our dues money

Probably 20+ years ago I attended an FOP meeting. Here's what I saw - a shouting match with no work getting done, other than trying to figure out who has the 'right of way' under Roberts rules of Order. Fast foreward to the (probably illegal)'undercover' audio of one of the latest FOP meetings that was posted on Youtube or some such. What did I hear? Same shouting with no work getting done. Apparently nothing has changed, so I certainly understand the apathy. That being said, yes, I voted. I pretty much 'mixed and matched' voting for those with no connection with any of the big slates.
Kind of like our elected officials. anyone who has 18 million in the bank is not a 'representative of the people', niether is the guy running for governor who can put 6 million into his own campaign chest. Until there is a way to get the 'common man' on a ballot, apathy will continue. According to some website I found, the average Illinois salary is about $67000. Find me someone making around that and I'll be sure to vote for them.

Read the blog above thus one before you vote. If you can vote in time. I'm glad I got to see it before I voted. What a bunch of shameful beings...
Bet you a dollar that it is only about 1/2 the membership that votes. Most of these guys are used to someone making decisions for them!
Waste of time, and no I don't complain about this job. I only worry about my pension and healthcare and il say it again not our or any union will be strong enough to make a difference on those 2 issues
Dean WTF! U lie
Can you vote at the FOP Hall on Friday ? What time ?
You need to vote in person at the FOP on Friday if you have not mailed in your ballot. It is your duty to vote!
