Way to Go Detroit!
The police chief in Detroit has been on record saying that an armed populace is instrumental in keeping crime at bay. Detroit has taken his words to heart recently:
- Citizens of Detroit are sending a loud and clear message to thugs: they have guns and aren’t afraid to use them.
In the span of one week, three different homeowners in the city used guns to defend themselves against intruders.
The most recent incident happened around 2 am last Saturday. Two men broke into a home and tried to knock out the homeowner with a tire iron. The homeowner shot both of them, killing one. The other escaped.
Around 12:30 am on Saturday, a woman was surprised by an armed man after she parked her car in her garage. She dropped her keys to distract him, reached for her own gun, and fatally shot him.
We heard one report of a third felon killed in the commission of a crime. Imagine that - guns being used properly in the defense of life leading to a timely end for at least two drains on society, maybe three. It's the kind of stuff that gives the gun grabbers nightmares.

According to the FBI Uniform Crime Report of 1992, in states that restrict concealed carry the violent crime rate was 26 percent higher; the homicide rate was 49 percent higher; the robbery rate was 58 percent higher; and the aggravated assault rate was 15 percent higher than in states that restrict concealed carry.
Two-thirds of firearms that are used to protect oneself are handguns. Also, in surveying convicted felons by the Department of Justice, 34 percent said they were driven away, wounded or captured by armed citizens. Forty percent changed their minds about committing a crime because they were afraid they would be a victim when a armed citizen was present.

1 or 2 nights ago ABC 7 ran a piece about some La Grange moms who say they are not anti-2A but just don't want guns around their children went to businesses on La Grange Rd urging them to put the "No GUNs" stickers in their windows or the women will take their business elsewhere. The featured store was "Blueberry Hill Pancake shop" at Crossit Ave. Owner passed and stated that he did not like being pressured.
Was out there for dinner the other night. Did not see a single NO GUN sticker on the entire street.
And life still appeared normal.
