Four Dead
Not a good ending to February, not a good start to March:
- Four men were killed and five other people were injured in shootings on the city’s South and West sides since Saturday morning.
- The 66-year-old proprietor of a Gold Coast framing company was gunned down Saturday at the Southwest Side factory complex where he had worked for 30 years, police and family members said.
Described by his son as a jack of all trades and animal lover, Herbert Goode was the owner of Silver Cloud Galleries, a custom framing company with a storefront at 20 W. Ohio St.

The spin on the murders is that they're down for the quarter. It's now 6 straight quarters that murders are down in Chicago.
He also said that weather does play a factor in crime. He's setting up for the explosion for when good weather does hit.

Mr. Goode did all the custom framing for our memorial cabinets for Herbie Johnson. He was a good man and a pillar of the community. We are all poorer for his loss.
How can we be down for the quarter? We are only 2 months into the year.

Did people just start tuning in to the gun violence of Chicago in 2012? Chicago has been one of the many killing fields of the midwest in general right along side the whole state of Michigan, Gary, St Louis, East St. Louis, Milwaukee, and whether or not you want to count Memphis with it being referred to as the "mid-south" sometimes.
And not another mention of this on the news. This is a horrible crime, not some gang bang crap. These scum media and scum politicians will play up some thug getting killed and act like he or she is exemplary. There is going to be a special place in hell for all of them. What a disgrace this city is. God bless this poor man and his family. RIP

I lived in Detroit in the late 1970s. Of course, Detroit has gotten much worse since, although it was bad enough in 1978. Chicago is at Detroit's 1978 stage now. Outside of Chicago's core and lakefront, most residential areas have gone to pot, or are on the way there. Chicago's northwest and southwest sides are quickly deteriorating, and the point of no return is just about here.
