Shooting Buses

Great, someone figured out that they're big, slow moving, easy to hit, usually full of people and will guarantee you a headline for anti-social behavior:
  • Shots, possibly from a pellet gun, damaged windows on two CTA buses in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side today, police said.

The buses were in traffic on the Jackson Boulevard route near Kenton Avenue when the drivers reported that their windows had been broken, possibly from gunfire, around 10:15 a.m., police said.

The No. 126 Jackson buses were moving in opposite directions, according to CTA spokeswoman Lambrini Lukidis. No one was injured.
Someone make sure we start some sort of initiative or special employment opportunity for this right away.

Most likely a joke and a prank, or at worst a warning. If they were serious a higher caliber weapon would have been used. Were the buses crossing some gangs turf, without paying the toll?

The shots were probably fired from Clark Playground just west of the RR track viaduct.

ISP did this down state years ago. First they did Trooper in a train to catch gate violators. Then they started following yellow school buses.

Both lasted long enough for the media to go away.

Minorities are making a social statement regarding income inequality and social injustice. These stinking buses represent the chains of the running dog capitalists that are keeping the collective peoples on the plantation of greed and the almighty dollar. The masses are eager to shed their chains and claim their just rewards.

In the 80's cars with white people used to get pellet gunned on the Ryan all the time. If it didn't shatter your window it would knock it off the track. My family was hit in traffic near 103rd. You could see the stoop sitters laughing after they hit you.

Gee, thanks for checking in with your post-crime scene examination theory. You must be one of the new 3/W 1106 car know-it-alls with a whopping 2 years on the job. Now shut up and go get the Lt. some contact cards as was discussed for allowing you goofs to work in blue jeans.

Those devils, you never can tell what mischief *Obama's Boys* will be up to next. Shooting at windows of buses with their pellets guns, those little rapscallions, shame on them.

--- The only thing we shot with our Benjamin-Sheridan pellet rifles and Daisy BB guns were tin cans, beer bottles, pigeons, and rats. (snowballs were for the buses, and not their windows) ---

It's a non-story...

Now if the savages would do something constructive like dropping shots at the Revenue'er and parking enforcement vehicles then that might be worth a giggle and putting a splash o' bourbon in the morning coffee over...

as long as the cta buses keep tripping the speed trap cams and the red light cams, inflating the number of tickets issued that's all that matters.

we need those high numbers for the corporate propaganda reports.

never mind that the tickets don't get paid and the behavior isn't changed because there are no consequences.

even in places where 'the children' are present.

damn-it. we need more cam tickets issues....oh and more contact cards too.

I saw a show on PBS once in which the engineer of a Union Pacific train described how awful it was to have to maneuver his engine through the Englewood neighborhood. Not surprisingly, there were shots fired DURING THE INTERVIEW at the moving train. I guess we're just not being culturally sensitive to the hobby that is most prevalent in these neighborhoods. Shame on us racists.

Not enough police have been hired in the last five years.

Rahm, McCarthy (and Daley) should be held accountable.

None of them should be able to show their faces anywhere without getting hammered about that.

Why isn't FOP shouting about this? That's is a big an indictment of the FOP leadership as anything I have ever heard.

Yep, that's gotta be it. Gun and ammo control are working so well.

Now for those pesky air rifles. Watch how the merry band of morons, lead by Rahm, institute a heavy tax on air (except for their own hot air) to prevent this stuff.

It's for the children... never mind that they will turn blue when we take the air, er, ammo, away from them. At least by taxing the air we'll be able to compensate for the parking meter deal and there will still be plenty of cash for us to steal!

Shooting at buses is clearly a terrorist act designed to prevent working people from using public transportation... or traveling via other means.

How about gun ports on the buses so the citizens can shoot back at the terrorists?

I've started to improve my shooting. I can do streetlights pretty good. I figure moving targets are harder, so I am starting with buses.
