Should This be a Bigger Deal?

  • What happened one night under the same roof as the 28th Ward alderman’s office did not stay in the 28th Ward.

So Ald. Jason Ervin has joined the ranks of politicians who’ve learned the hard way that it’s easy for camera phones and social media to take private moments and make them very public.

[...] Still, Ervin had to spend much of Monday trying to explain away two minutes and 23 seconds that were captured at his November 2012 bachelor party and surfaced on Facebook over the weekend.

The revelry — at least two strippers, gyrating in the most suggestive manner possible — took place in the same West Side building where Ervin handles constituent city-service requests. Near the end of the video, a woman tells the man who’s recording the scene to stop.
Strippers at a bachelor party - no big deal.

Strippers at the alderman's bachelor party - still not moving the needle.

Strippers at the alderman's bachelor party, in the office building "...where Ervin handles constituent city-service requests"? Now we're sensing scandal seeing as how aldercreatures use tax-payer provided funds to rent office space, usually from themselves of close friends to keep the money in the family as it were.

But does the media care enough to push this farther?

Here is the bigger scandal

The Aldermen receive money to pay for renting their Alermanic offices. Many actually own the building they are renting and hid the fact through land trusts. A long term aldermen ends up owning a multi-million dollar building by the time he retires.... while collecting the rent.

Don't look for the BGA to look into this....

Compared to the goings on in the peoples house (the White House) and the Oval Office, during the Clinton years this does not even rate a mention. After all we are talking about democrat politicians. No one expects the slightest speck of morality from one.

doh..show me the money..

almost reads like a shakedown doesn't it.

----clip-----

from an Illinois Auditor General’s report…

On August 13, 2010, the Governor attended a violence prevention conclave in Roseland where ministers requested he declare a State of Emergency on the current violence problem.

Five days later, on August 18, 2010, [the Illinois Violence Prevention Authority] was informed that the Governor’s Office wanted to invest at least $20 million in violence prevention and was directed to develop a framework for the [Neighborhood Recovery Initiative] program. Less than two months later, on October 6, 2010, the Governor announced the NRI program; the program had increased to a cost of $50 million for Chicago communities.

* The Auditor General found…

* Lack of Documentation on the Selection of Communities (IVPA and DHS could not locate the analysis used nor could IVPA provide any other documentation to auditors showing how Chicago communities were selected to participate in NRI)

* Lack of Due Diligence in Selection of Lead Agencies (While IVPA issued an RFP for a “Governor’s Neighborhood Recovery Plan” on September 8, 2010, to select agencies to administer the program, the RFP was only sent to those agencies recommended by aldermen five days earlier. Furthermore, auditors’ review of IVPA’s scoring of the RFP submissions identified numerous deficiencies, including evaluation forms with inconsistent criteria, unscored criteria, changed scoring, and undated evaluations.)

* IVPA not Adequately Staffed (Embarking on an initiative of the size and complexity of NRI without key personnel in place is illustrative of IVPA’s inadequate planning for the NRI program.

* IVPA Untimely Approval of Contracts (40 percent of the contracts (265 of 663) were approved by IVPA after the contract was executed by the lead and community partners)

* Community Partners’ Staffing Levels Not Met (Our review of quarterly reports found that community partners did not maintain the number of staff required by their contracts with IVPA. We found no documentation to show that IVPA took steps necessary to correct the staffing deficiencies.

And there’s more. Much more. It’s a freaking mess. Go read the whole thing. More here.

This was a feel-good program tossed together at the last minute to make the governor look like he was doing something. Yes, some people were helped. But there was way too much politics involved and som

Don't worry Cinespace donated all that lovely furniture to the obese alderman.

And who works for Cinespace non other than the previous Alderman?
Ed smith!

And who handles the security contract for Cinespace with 28th ward resident?

Of course the lame stream media could not figure out any of this and let Alderman Erving Bullshit them with the lie that he does not rent the whole building.

You would think commander Claudell Erving would have taught his fatty son better special sine he is hooked up with the Westside minister in 011.

Chew on that.

This fat fuck is a total waste of space. He regularly criticizes the police department's leadership, then proves his complete lack of ability to handle any power whatsoever by misusing property paid for/rented by taxpaying citizens. Were his constituents, who pay his rent, invited to this party at "their" office? What bullshit! This scumbag needs first to be tossed out of office, then to grow up, then to lose about 100 pounds and get an attitude adjustment. What a prick.

Come on SCC, what is "two strippers, gyrating in the most suggestive manner possible?"

I have a good imagination but I would really rather see the video.

I want the link to the video! Link, Link, Link, Link! Damn, show me the video! Whooooo!

The media played the shit out of every damn fire department and police video out there. Fair is fair, we deserve to see this one!

Watch this worthless tub of shit try to lay this one at the feet of the PO-leece.

Ervin's camp claims the video was leaked by someone trying to extort him, and that he's documented the extortion attempt with the CPD. CPD says they have no knowledge of anything of such a nature brought to the departments attention.

Undeterred, watch for Alderman FreakyDeaky to next say it's a conspiracy orchestrated by the CPD in retalliation for him demanding a person of color for the DCs spot in the Harrison District.

Race Card commencing in 3, 2, 1 . . .

The media have already reported that it was part of the building but not his office. They have already given him his out.

If it was Denis Walsh's bachelor party though they'd be all over it.

At least his previous behavior would be a little more acceptable in that venue!

Can you keep this one hotted-up and pushed to the front?

You can bet a fat woman her ass that if there was any hint that Coppers were involved in this, Rahm and his feloniously funky fifty would have been furiously cranking the handle on the "Chicago is a mess because of CPD" propaganda machine.

What makes these aldermen so above the law?

Off topic but since this has to do with Chicago politics, I'll put it here.
Channel 2 news just showed former Mayor Short Shanks leaving the hospital and he had two guys, one on each side of him, who were obviously body guards. One of them even opened the car door for him that picked him up. Question? Doe's he have a City paid for detail and/or car also? And, 2, can anyone confirm after seeing this news clip, if those 2 guys were part of his old body guard detail. Just curious.

You mean Bruce Rauner. You want Bruce Rauner for governor? Anti-police union Bruce Rauner? Anti-public pension Bruce Rauner? Rahm Emanuels former working associate and good buddy Bruce Rauner? You want him for governor? If you like the fucking Rahm has given you so far, get ready for Bruce Rauner will give it to you worse.

"Making the hard decision" as Bruce says is code for fucking us out of our pensions. You want that for governor? For what, just to get Quinn out? Rauner will fuck us worse, no doubt about that.
