A Flat Learning Curve

  • Exactly 14 days after his murder case was dismissed, a South Side man was arrested after running from Chicago police and dropping a handgun, prosecutors said Saturday.

Tahari R. Wilson, who had been charged with murder in 2012, was freed on April 11. But on Friday, police said, officers patrolling near the scene of a recent homicide approached Wilson for a field interview close to his Gresham neighborhood home.

The 22-year-old fled through a gangway, police said, and in the process an officer saw him draw a handgun. Police eventually caught up to Wilson, of the 8200 block of South Loomis Boulevard near his home and arrested him.
It sure would be interesting to see why the homicide charge was dropped, especially as he is hanging out at the scene of another homicide with a gun. Anita? You want to answer that one? Maybe he was a rapist on the side, too? You know the media won't ask questions about released rapists.

"He faces felony charges of unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance."

--------------

Note to CCSAO: Crack open a criminal code and look up "Armed Violence." Use the dismissed charge in aggravation at sentencing.

If the shooters are locked up in order to prevent shootings how can the liberals propose gun laws that only impact law abiding gun owners. Keep the carnage going so repressive laws can be enacted by liberals.

It would be nice if someone in the media took a long hard look at the States Attorneys Office and the Cook County Court system. I won't hold my breath.

Charges dropped because the only witness was killed... Go figure. Ballistics on the gun also came back negative.. Case dropped. Not the first time and won't be the last

Not a cop. I did 6 months in county but for me it changed my life. Though it was 15 years ago, the shit I learned then are still valid today. First of all, Cook County for most of the people there is a hang out spot. Everyone knows each other so most of the time is spent planning new crimes. Second, while inside guess how guys get cell phones, drugs, sex, etc. The guards. Look, the guards are not stupid, these guys figure out where the guards live so they cave in. Also, Cook County court has a severe flaw. Prisoners do not mind waiting out cases. There was a guy in there with me who waited out a arson case for 5 years. By the time he plead he walked out, time served. Guys told me the easiest cases to beat were murder. Between waiting out the cases and intimidating witnesses, three years or more to walk home and kill again was worth it. Myself, I made a list of the assholes, where they lived, befriended a few, did my time and moved to a better area. cook county is full of the real animals and savages and that's just the guards.

Wilson is in limbo now while Loevy looks over the case to find a way to sue the city and police for his client's mistreatment by the police. . . .

The standard Deadly Live-In Boyfriend -- home chillin, layin up in there while babymama work. The TV set beats him in a game, so he uses the kid for a heavy bag.

What was the figure I just heard -- the unemployment rate among young black males in Chicago is 97%? Can't even get a start in life pulling shopping carts out of the supermarket lot for a first job because "No one tell me what to do!" There one week, gone the next. Observable fact, simple reality.

So here we are.

Ezekiel Emanuel, eugenicist.

"...services that promote the continuation of the polity — those that ensure healthy future generations, ensure development of practical reasoning skills, and ensure full and active participation by citizens in public deliberations—are to be socially guaranteed as basic.

"Covering services provided to individuals who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens are not basic, and should not be guaranteed. An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia."
