Garry on Patrol

  • Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy patrolled the streets overnight and helped officers capture a group of armed shooting suspects.

Officers responding to a report of shots fired near 40th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue attempted to question three people walking at nearby 41st Street and Drexel Boulevard, police said.

The suspects ran away when officers approached, and a foot pursuit ensued, police said.

McCarthy was on patrol in the area and helped Wentworth District officers run down the three suspects, police said. Two handguns were recovered during the arrest.

To be the real police Mcasshole would have had to go in and do all the paperwork which I'm certain he doesn't have clue how to do. Then he'd have to go testify in court on his day off which I'm certain he's never done. He never was and never will be the real police. Running around in a district playing police once a year without having to do any actual work, does not make one the real police.

In Chicago, politics will always be king because the voters are sheep. Actually lemmings are a better analogy.

Predictions of a new black Superintendent ring true.
The Mayor, in an obvious attempt to cater, will feel he has no choice. The national media has picked up on the Chiraq moniker. He has aspirations beyond Chicago, just look at all his brothers have accomplished. He will be Chicago politics on steroids.

McCarthy will be "needed" elsewhere soon. Emmanuel can't admit he made a huge mistake. The Mayor will find the "right guy" here and he will be politically correct. The Media will write the narrative, just like CNN did for his TV show. Chicago is nothing but politics, regular people don't count.

Were these three “suspects” on G.I.P.P., T.R.A.P. and “Two Degrees of Association”. Did they make the district “Top Ten”? How about parole, probation or electronic monitoring?

Has it been determined if the district commander had previously given the three suspects the golden “call in” spiel of the Gang Violence Reduction Strategy: We can help you if you let us. We will stop you if you make us?” Did Garry oversee and coordinate a post-shooting mission?

I can remember a similarly printed story in the press many years ago about our former Fearless Leader Phil Cline...kicking in a door, and arresting a man with a gun. No one on the Dept. even blinked at the story then, even though it's doubtful Cline could raise a foot high enough to kick a door anywhere near where a doorknob would be situated.

At least McCarthy was out there, and actually helped out. Let's not forget the infamous "J-Fled" scenario in Englewood a few years back, when a man was shot to death close to where Weis held court with the press, only to flee the scene with his driver when the shit really hit the fan.

That nonsense about sixteen pension checks is based on thirty or forty year old numbers. It isn't anywhere near the case today. Call the pension board and ask for the real numbers.
As for retiring, the best reason to go is the many, many politicians who say they won't mess with the pensions of those who are already retired, but they will adjust the pensions for those who have not YET retired. It's no guarantee, but it's something to consider.
You have the medical coverage offer, the time on, and you are young enough to enjoy life. GO.

Yeah and the city crushed him when a judge stuck a $50g settlement on him and they hung him out to dry. Janey told him to clean out the shitheads and he did.

Then the same shitheads sued and won the Ghetto lottery from both the city and Joe. A good man with a big family Joe was never the same after that. I dont think it was the personal damages so much as it was the fact everything he believed in came crashing down. Paying the $50g to shitheads didnt help for sure.

His health began to fail and he was just never the same. He was a good man who deserved better. He was one of the very few Bosses that put the welfare of the citizens and his officers above his own.

RIP Patrolman Joe.

Per pension board numbers. Average retiree is 68 years old. If everyone retired at 63 they would be receiving checks for 5 years. You realize the wrong thing, its a 40 year old urban legend about 1 1/2 years after retirement.
Up to you about retiring. If you like the job and are happy stay. All that can happen is if you die you will leave the wife and kids the 500K in deferred.
I personally had a great time on the job, retired at 63 and this year am being forced to take the mandatory disbursement of the 600K from deferred.
All I can say is to each his own, worked out for me, some it hasn't

Real leaders conlisk, rochford ,ogrady, rice,Martin did not have to patrol the streets like a beat man . They were the Boss of Chicago's Finest , backed up the troops and the blue shirts worked hard for them . We were not afraid of being thrown under the bus , today most bosses merit hacks , will say if you are right I'll back you up

100 percent correct. They did not care how you got the job done....Period. Killed beefs and could care less about the slug Rev'. The hall controled them.

Cline could not even get a clearence to get briefed regarding national security issues. Old timers know the reason for that !

McCarthy could not make a pimple on the old supt'. They all sleep well at night, knowing the streets were covered by real police who never cried foul when a boss MF'ed him.

They also had a different make up of the department. Times were different.

Say all you want, but what makes Garry the real police is that he was a po in New York. He didn't walk in there as the supt,he started out as a po. Don't think New York is the easiest place to be a po.

"Chicagoland propaganda"

I'm Calling BULLSHIT!

Were the CNN cameras following him around?

I can just see McAsshole chasing down the perps on foot and single handedly getting those guns off the street for an encore presentation.

Here is the real pathetic, pandering, race baiting, class warefare POS in action:

You're East coast, right? (We don't have perps in Chicago.) I don't suppose you'd be wanting McStickaForkInMeImDone back there?

Here we go again with this "Old Time Coppers Were Better" bullshit.
For the 800th time: It was easier to be a cop back then. Because nobody had a fuckin cell-phone or video camera. No one gave a shit if you held some shithead without charges indefinitely.Or if Dets beat the shit outta some poor slob til he confessed to something he didn't do. That's why the fuckin clearance rate was so high back then. And you fuckers dam well know this. States Attys were the copper's cohort back then. Not like today. I'd love to see some of your hero ole time coppers have to perform under today's working conditions. Shit would be beyond laughable. Cause they'd have to play by TODAY's rules.
Kiss my ass, with all that Ole Time Coppers Were Better, bullshit. Cause all things being EQUAL, it just aint true.

Leroy Martin came to a Sergeant's Association meeting when he running for Cook County Sheriff.

He was expecting to be welcome with open arms, rounds of applause and promises of support..

What he got was some pissed off Sergeants who got in his face telling him exactly what they thought of him and all but threw him out the window.

Payback was indeed a bitch!

McCarthy will get the same when the opportunity arises.

Wow, this site is getting too many bloggers with little minds. this whole blog was bout McCarthy rolling in on a Man With A Gun call and somehow Dean Angelo and Greg Bella get pulled in with some nonsense that the Mayor will negotiate us to live in the suburbs. I guess nobody gets it that we will never have this right. We spend a whole lot of money in the city. Water Bills, Taxes, Etc. As much as we try to buy and shop outside this city, we still have to spend money here. I suggest if you don't like what is happening in your neighborhoods, then start block clubs, neighborhood patrol groups. Back in the day my area had CB patrol groups and I as the police was asked to speak in regards to what they should do, I told them to call 911, and not confront any bad guys unless absolutely needed. No, they were not coppers, but many cops did help out. And no I'm not soft, but I am retired and before I move out of the city, I am going to really investigate any new area or suburb, I don't want any dog asses near me, I will check out everything needed. say no more. But please leave FOP out of any blogs that regard Garry and the Mayor, they are clearly not our friends.
