- Commander Pena of 010 is in some hot water-its rumored she has a serious EEOC beef brought against her by a subordinate female officer. Witnesses include other officers and supervisors, all of whom have provided To-Froms to IAD. A serious lack of judgement and character from a triple merit hack. This has been kept rather quiet so far-lets hear from those in the know..hint, it happened in front of a whole tact team. Pathetic and embarrassing!
Well, as someone pointed out, triple-merit. You can't expect much from someone who has been given a hand-up three times. That person is obviously too stupid to get promoted anywhere on their own. It was kind of obvious when she was strip searching high school students without any sort of authorization, warrant or supervisory direction that she was destined for a gold star.

The average temperature for December 2013 to March 2014 period in Chicago was only 22.0°F, 10 degrees below freezing, beating the old record set in the winter of 1903-04. It even beat the harsh winters of 1977/78 which were some of the worst ever.

This department has lost its way, and I don't think it's ever coming back. So-called merit and invitation only study groups (wink wink) have led to its demise.
Reluctantly, I recently left the department and this blog has become an information source, for which I am grateful, however I find myself becoming one of those bitter basement trolls, spewing negativity and for me it ends now, years of bitching and nothing has changed and besides, it's not my fight anymore.

I don't think so. Hopefully the beef works out for the officer but Pena won't face any repercussions. This is how it works. Only the biggest of assholes get away with things like this and thats what she is.

It's all a matter of "what you will do to get and keep a gold star." It is a TRUE burden and you have to be a strong person to keep your integrity while you have it. These days most have lost the integrity and truly have the "I- mentality" in the word P-O-L-I-C-E. Really a sad moment.
If the allegations against Pena are true, there is only one recourse the department has. They will promote her like usual.
Whats the beef with her? What is the accussation? Can't be a secret if there are all these winesses and IAD and a lawsuit are involved.
She won't skip a beat with this, nothing will happen to her. The officer in question will be the one who suffers when it's all said and done. One thing Maria does is hold a grudge. Just ask her former tact sgt who she bounced after promising the world to for him to come over with her to 010 when she made commander and he wasn't doing just as she wanted.

Pena was once a decent Patrolman. Sadly, somewhere along the way she acquired some serious juice and also started drinking huge amounts of the Kool-Aid. She lost her way. Yep, she's all merit. Now look at her. I feel bad for her really.
What will happen is demote her to xo , shames other minority exempts that are over their head . Keep the same salary with little if any responsibility .
Reason they are not dumped back to lt. Can't handle the day to day responsibility of the job in patrol .
It never fucking ends with these clouted assholes. IAD rats should all just die cause they have never done and never will do an honest and fair investigation. Soon this shithole called Chicago will be in my rear view mirror.

The Chicago Police Department has finally received a "glimmer of hope". The appointment of James Roussell to the Chief of Staff of the Superintendent Office has the potential for being a move in the right direction for our department. Roussell is a great Boss, extremely intelligent, and not afraid to speak his mind. Lets hope he can do the job that "needs" to be done. Good luck to you Sir.

Yeah, it's an insult to all Harley owners.
Like the former cmdr of 014, hated by all and now makes the same money and keeps her rank doing shit at headquarters.
No justice is coming for this patrol officer. What a shame and scam what the dept does toblue shirts.
Either say what she did or cut the BS. If you dont want it to be know and its legit,then whats stopping you from saying it. Or is it all BS

Maybe now all the goofs will give the supt a chance instead of constantly berating him for what hes done. Handled NATO well, took care of a few guys in 015, vets returning from deployments that were hurt can stay light duty,etc, but the haters forget those things.

She took care of the moron Sgt when any other boss would have walked away. The guy is an idiot and was put in charge of a group of 3 year wonders who didn't know any better. He got dumped because he got too greedy, $$$
