Shootings Down!
From 14 wounded on Saturday to a mere 8 on Sunday. Homicides remained unchanged at 1 per day:
- Two people were killed and at least 22 were hurt in shootings across the city since Friday night.
The most recent fatal shooting occurred Saturday night in the South Side Burnside neighborhood.
Thank goodness we can gauge progress on a day-to-day basis! It sounds so much better this way.

The Big Guys methods are working. Crime is down on Sunday as compared to Saturday, Those NYPD boys are a marvel. You are thrice blessed to have him.

OT - Anita Alvarez does not want cameras in the courtrooms. Hmmmmm wonder why. Would cook county taxpayers then be able to see how horrible her office is at prosecuting cases? Vote her out at election time.
I notice that SCC keeps the pressure on about shootings but I wish SCC would post more about the CPD clearance rate for all major crimes. The public believes we investigate every crime and in most cases we get the bad guy. This is so far from the truth and I think SCC should go after Rahm about this. You stop crime by locking up bad guys and right now this is not happening.

In 1970 when murder was much higher, we had 3 million people living in Chicago. Today, we only have around 2 million. Anybody do a per capita figure on those numbers?

"The shooting took place on the east side of Central Avenue near Race Avenue.
"On March 7, about 9:25 p.m., a 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were shot while they were walking in the same block..."

* 9:25 p.m. 400 block of North Central Avenue...17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were walking on the sidewalk... when they were shot...Bullets struck the 17-year-old in the thigh and the 19-year-old in the buttocks..."

Not as long as you put out decent, helpful tourist maps with that ancient legend superimposed in Olde English lettering upon vast areas of our fair city, marked out in "no go" red.
Oh -- this Miller "Fortune" latest release tastes like s__t. No hops, too sweet. I got it real cold, too. Essentially a gussied-up malt liquor. Like (no longer German) Beck's "Sapphire" and the others, you can tell what market it's targeted for.
6.9% alc., cheap, sounded attractive though. That's the (hic) idea. S' OK atter you have 7 or 8. (hic) (blap)
