Friday to Saturday - 2 Dead 17 Wounded
- The most recent fatal shooting occurred Saturday night in the South Side Burnside neighborhood.
A 16-year-old boy was shot in the head at 7:53 p.m. in the 1000 block of East 93rd Street, police said.
He was dead at the scene, according to police. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the death Saturday night.
- A pair of gunmen shot six people, one fatally, at a West Side party early Saturday morning, trapping partygoers in a crossfire as one opened fire toward a back porch from an alley while someone else opened fire from the front door once people tried to run inside.
Eight other people were wounded across the city overnight since about 8 p.m.
Nine of the original 14 were shot in 011, but there were only three shooting scenes by CompStat numbers. And the description by Trib reporter Peter Nickeas was amusing if you've ever been to a hectic scene:
- A number of the partygoers appeared intoxicated, cursed at police, ran under the crime scene tape and shouted in general about poor police response. One woman was carried out by her limbs by officers, who set her down outside the crime scene tape. A number of the obscenities were directed at the race of the officers, who were primarily white. A black officer was singled out by a woman in the crowd for being on the wrong side.
Black on black crime, no one sees a thing at a party of 100, the police get blamed for everything, especially the black copper just doing his job. Jesse? Al? Louis? Pfleger? Anyone see the problem here?

Saturday ended up having the highest tally of persons shot so far this year with 16: 2 killed & 14 wounded. The entire weekend to date now stands at 20 shot: 2 killed, 18 wounded.

Peter Nickeas finally wrote a descriptive article that didn't read like a potboiler. Glad his editors finally woke up to his tabloid garbage and put the brakes on it.
It appears that the police white or black, are not doing enough to protect these people against crime, and that when a shooting occurs, the police are slow to arrive. Than the police do not show adequate respect and sensitivity toward the people of the neighborhood.

There's NOTHING but a lot of noise, flying feathers,flying shit, confusion and wild-eyed hatred of everything with a CPD star pinned to it because that STAR stands for the rest of society that these humanoid creatures have voided their contracts with and want nothing to do with.
Well... They DO want the lib-tard, yellow pinky white guilters, poverty-pimp apologists and the fast & greasy corporate & political operatives like Rahm to keep gifting them with taxpayer treasure.
You know... So they don't get mad an' shit and put Chicago to the torch.
Yet it's somehow OK if not politically enlightened and a sign of business savvy to bust Police and Fire pensions, health care and erode their real-time purchasing power.
Why don't they just come out and say "We ARE going to finally gift Chicago with a casino and we don't feel as if we have to share any of the proceeds with you coppers. Plus we want to have laws on the books that will lock you coppers and firemen out of seeing a penny of that money."

I'm confused on the shooting in 011. Regarding the same problem, just so I can get this correct, the shooting in 011 had one shooter in the alley, and another "in the doorway". Which people were shot by the offender in the alley, and which were from the offender in the doorway? You officers need to do a better job documenting this stuff so we can keep the numbers straight!

What, exactly, is your point? Are you trying to cite offsetting penalties here, or is it that you have only worked in 019 or 023 and have nothing to compare to?
There is a real issue on crime scenes on the south and west sides that can make for a dangerous situation, and give cause to send cars from other Districts just to contain the "obnoxious" people, as you describe them. On officer involved shootings, it's OUR scene that needs to be protected. "Obnoxious" people, who I often refer to as "criminals" , or "Felons", can get coppers hurt, and drain neighboring Districts of manpower in order to maintain order.
When this happens, I would imagine that you would be one of the complainers when you are in a RAP, or when you have insufficient backup on your job, because 4 plus 1 had to pack up and relocate to 004 or 005 or 011 for 4 hours, and babysit a crime scene.
You should see someone to address your denial issues.
How come New York City managed to overcome all these same Black criminal underclass problems, elect law and order mayors, appoint tough, law and order police chiefs?

Nothing new here. Its Chicago-it’s the status quo. Its time for the Superintendent of Police Garry McCarthy and the Mayor of Chicago rahm emanuel, to resign. The residents of color demand leadership and both of you have failed in the highest order. Your inability and failure to “Stop the Violence” is prima facie evidence of a failed political leadership at the highest levels, an absence of true leadership at the highest command levels of CPD and poverty bred crime given the unacceptable minority unemployment. I can't remember the Wriglyvillians crossing the tape and flopping on the ground by their relative that 'wasn't in a gang'. I can't remember being spit upon there. I can't remember racial slurs being thrown at me. I can't remember a Wrigleyite shooting at an ET, etc, etc,....

I agree. I've worked there and recently transferred because I've never in my 15 years been around such crybabies. Most of the watch people do absolutely nothing and the worst part of that laziness is that they won't even make an effort to back up other coppers on jobs. Most of them feel too privileged to handle a job, because for most of the people there it has been the only district they have ever worked.
