- The Chicago Police Department is reportedly about to start a new program designed to do something about the co-called “code of silence,” which, police say, makes investigating crimes very difficult because often witnesses and even victims won’t tell police what they know, reports WBBM....
The police department is calling the new effort the Campaign to Break the Code of Silence Drop Box Initiative.
Almost 15 months later, has a single Snitch-Box ever been installed in a high-crime area? Has anyone even seen one near a District? How about a single tip or clue generated by this "strategy?"

Maybe someone will drop a note as to how dumb asses make the merit list, since crime fighting tips don't have a snowball's chance in hell of making it into the box.

Their intentions are good and that is what counts. failure to actually install snitch boxes is minor.

So the message is that if your life is threatened the code of silence is not okay.
However in the elite double standard it's okay for the elites to maintain a code of silence even if it's a direct violation of the law.

What is so difficult about just calling the police station or a detective and relaying information over the phone. They can use their obama phone, pay phone or other cell phones(cuz they all have multiple phones for some reason). That seems to be more discreet than dropping a note off in a snitch box. Just another pathetic and desperate attempt to give the illusion of lowering crime.
The police should set the example. Snitch on the bossholes who covered up the Koschman murder.

I don't understand how the city gets away with this, THE POLICE DEPARTMENT NEEDS DETECTIVES!!! You have three areas that look full of detectives on paper, but in reality those detectives are covering the same land geographic, population, and crimes as five areas. The areas are running on skeleton crews, the only unit I see in more dire need of bodies is the forensic section. Oh, the city could use an Area West, stop short changing the citizens residing west of Western avenue!
The city politicos don't care about crime, they just make it sound like they do. Register to vote all u jack asses, or we will suffer in the long run.
