Scared to Live in Chicago

  • Hip-hop star Twista is still reeling over the death of his bodyguard, Davy Easterling.

"It's definitely something you don't want to happen to someone you love," the Chicago rapper said of Easterling — who was shot, had his throat slit and then was set on fire.

"I'm real upset, man. How long I've been repping this city, and right now I hate that violence is the notoriety we've got," Twista said during an interview with DNAinfo Chicago. "Definitely I think everyone should be a strong advocate for ending this whole 'Chiraq' thing."

  • Twista, 40, who grew up in K-Town in North Lawndale, still lives within the city limits in what he described as a "low-key neighborhood."

"Let's just say I live ... where I feel safe," he said. "In K-Town, this is something you see on a regular basis. It's just unfortunate it happened to someone so close."

Asked if he was scared to still reside in Chicago, Twista said: "Hell, yes."
Gee, after making your living in an industry that glorifies violence, drug use, disrespect of authority and the degradation of women, now you have an epiphany?

I have never heard of this "musician."

But shooting a bodyguard, slicing his throat and setting him on fire is generally outside the realm of normal violence. I mean, even in Chicago, that constitutes as fucked up.

He lives somewhere safe. Apparently, his bodyguard didn't.

Dafuk?
O_o?

"Low key neighborhood" huh Mistuh Twista?

So... Keepin' it real, crunk and gully as you put space between yourself and the iron-legged, mind-locked, hard-dicks who make up the bulk of your audience huh?

"It's just entertainment!"

...And THERE is the muthafuckin' rub right there!

"Don't nuttin' come to a sleeper but a dream."

An entire underclass of catered to constituent adult children and childish adults aspiring to live the "Trife Life" as espoused by these rattle-minds in the entertainment industry...

(Are those Ari Emanuel's shoes sticking from under the curtains?)

"Harrump and ahem!"
Just sayin'

Culture of Death an' shit...
Let's start looking at the m/fers behind the curtains.

Fuck the fools prancing around on stage... Diversionary clown show in the face of the real shit at ground level that wet eyed hand-wringers cry about the Police not doing enough or caring enough to stop.

"Don't be comin' up in heah tellin' us how to do!"

Many sacrifices to the Culture of Death later...

"Y'all up in heah actin' like y'all don't care about US! Y'all need to do y'all job an' quit all that tryin' to retire an' get away shit! Y'all supposed to serve and protect!"

The Culture of Death has rendered serving and protecting some portions of this city an exercise in futility which has laid down with the rampant political and media fuckery in this town and made some God-Awful and powerful ugly babies.

You keep on doin' you Mistuh Twistuh...

A rapper complaining about violence and the state this city is in? That's like Hitler, or Bin Laden complaining about violence in the world.

YOU and your ilk caused it! You revel in it. You have made it a money making lifestyle. You are to blame.

Two face bitches, all of them. Look at what most of the hard "core rappers" are doing now, making a living playing cops or on the right side of law. Guess their propaganda got too scary for them, almost like political correctness, all a facade that is coming back to bite us in the ass

Shot, cut and set afire! No shit?

Well at least they're not sawing off the heads and rollin' them into the club yet or hangin' them from the overpasses.

Although the flood of illegal immigrants should change that culture shortly we imagine.

Give them a drivers license so they can get their voters card and turn this nation into a place with the values from which they came. Asking them to accept our culture and language would be racist.

That's all these dimwits rap about- guns, dope, booze and bitches. Killin, thievin, grievin, and believin- not a particularly hard profession for the illiterate. As soon as they make their millions selling all their crap to ghetto underlings who aspire to do the same, and stupid white suburban teenagers who are trying to rebel behind the white picket fences and fine manicured lawns, they head for a nice house in a rich neighborhood. They lose credibility but that's ok because at that point they usually segue into bad movie making or a TV series.

Perp? You're either an East coast poster, or you've been watching too much New York style tv. We don't say perp here. No, not ever.

The best was years ago a top gang leader was found on a stolen bus he was knee capped, shot in the stomach and had a baseball bat shoved up his ass then he was set ablaze. If I remember he was a GD leader of sorts.

As in many of these situations, they set up these liberal minded unsustainable arrangements; that once they find themselves on the receiving end of what they promoted, they then scream "wrong and unfair". If you watch the first 10 mins of "Escape from New York" you well note that even the most harden criminal will understand that there has to be some sense of law and order for even them to survive in the "hood".

What Mistah Twista has failed to note is that the murderer was KNOWN to his victim (boyfriend of one of the women he was found with). That means that Twista could live in Dubuque, Iowa and STILL be surrounded by violence. Chicago has it's problems, but Twista and company also make CHOICES as far as who they allow into their environments.

"Pinch" was a common term here 30 years ago.

Perp,collar,bracelets are NYC terms.

You are slightly ignorant in this matter. The industry (hip-hop/Rap) as a whole does not glorify these things. There are many artists that DO NOT play up the ghetto, gang, gun lifestyle. That's all you know because that's what the major labels promote. Lets be honest here, what will sell more to white kids (yes, white kids spend more on hip hop than all minorities combined ) a Black artist speaking on love and peace or a Black artist speaking on Guns, Gangs, Bi**** and Ho**?

Don't believe me???? Check you tube. For example, Chief Keef played at Lalapalooza . Who did you see in the audience singing along?? A bunch of skinny a** White Boys.

BTW, Twista lives in Little Italy. Maybe you will bump into him at pompei

an industry that glorifies violence, drug use, disrespect of authority and the degradation of women

I remember hearing old coppers HERE saying they pinched someone, back in the day. Shit, how often do you have people here talk about what precinct you work in. The television is the same place they get their firearms training. Hell, Mannix could shoot someone dead at 100 yards with a Detective Special, 1 shot, one kill.

I recently collared a perp in my Precinct. He was getting frisky so I slapped the bracelets on him. It was a Good Pinch. Then I turned him over to the Dicks for some of that old-time 3rd-Degree chin music.
