Wagons Down Everywhere

From one of our west side people:
  • Word from EMMD folks is that the city hasn't paid their vendors in 4 months, therefore no parts are being delivered as retaliation. This has led to a citywide shortage of wagons - 5 districts are operating without wagons at the moment and the number is probably going up. Great idea seeing as how summer is coming and wagons are kind of necessary for downtown "mass arrest" situations and there are usually a couple on standby for the assorted festivals and parades.
So we can be pretty sure that Rahm isn't spending any money on the Department. The City that Works!

Rahm needs to transfer that basketball money for DePaul....some 70 million bucks worth...and pay for the Wagons and whatever else is needed that is truly important....by the by...my niece, her hubby and family are moving from Cgo to Indiana, leaving before school starts...hubby will commute to Cgo 4 days a week... these folks have big bucks but refuse to continue to pay for lots of property taxes plus the constant fees and excesses that working stiffs must pay....while those who don't work take welfare and shoot and kill and steal and loot....time to stop the crime...time to fly the coop. Sad but they won't take the bad. Trump rules.

Word on the street says a fabricated accident full of intentional mistakes was scribbled onto a 23 year old accident report and dropped in the review bin for approval. Sgt. The diesels probably looked like a good idea on paper when the theory was that they would last longer. Of course, that didn't turn out to be the case.

As an aside, I saw something cool in D.C. where they use buses as well. When they have a mass demonstration they come down in buses. Their riot gear, etc., is stored in the belly (and generally not used unless anticipated) and if there is a need for mass arrests they can be loaded on the bus and hauled away. These are Greyhound type buses, not school type.

http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2014/06/20/white-detroit-police-lieutenant-makes-discrimination-allegation/

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - A lieutenant in charge of the Detroit Police Department’s drug unit says he was the victim of racial discrimination and subjected to a hostile work environment for reporting wrongdoing.

Lt. Charles Flanagan, who is white, filed a complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on May 28, four days after Internal Affairs conducted an audit of the Narcotics Section, according to a report in the Detroit News.

Flanagan’s attorney, Mike Rataj, said the 29-year police veteran uncovered numerous issues after assuming command of the unit in November — including a sergeant who failed to turn over several pieces of drug evidence and another who made up false evidence tags for items seized during drug raids, mainly electronics, and then kept the items for personal use. The alleged incidents took place before Flanagan commanded the drug unit.

Flanagan said he and two other white officers who are his friends were going to be transferred because he reported suspected wrongdoing.

OT: In Sunday's Sun-Times there is an article about a wilding incident last Tuesday by Carol Marin.

What a joke. Carol, you just don't get it.
Your comparisons were apples v oranges.
Individual acts vs organized acts by large groups.

Fighting and mob action are still crimes, even if there is no report generated. Dispersal of the mob is the goal. Once the mob is gone the beach goers are happy and have no need to file reports.
However, those same peaceful beach goers are going to think twice about returning in the future.

Running through traffic and endangering motorists is at least a traffic violation, but I'd push for a reckless conduct charge.

Finally, Aldrrman Smith has a stake in there being no
"criminal incidents" in her ward. She doesn't want to alienate voters. If you hadn't witnessed this, it wouldn't have made the main stream media which is what rahm wants.

the city has Angel Lopez at North and Throop to handle all warranty issues, other Bullshit story is that Ford will not do business with the city because they didn't get paid for thier new cars. 2 weeks after new cars are delivered, the dealer who has the contract gets paid. Many people think that we buy the cars directly from Ford, but all cars are purchased thru a minority Ford dealer.

Inflation? Only If You Look At Food, Water, Gas, Electricity And Everything Else

"...the way that the inflation rate is calculated has been changed more than 20 times since the 1970s, and at this point it bears so little relation to reality that it is essentially meaningless. Anyone that has to regularly pay for food, water, gas, electricity or anything else knows that inflation is too high. In fact, if inflation was calculated the same way that it was back in 1980, the inflation rate would be close to 10 percent right now."

***

Just the other day, the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced that the price index for meat, poultry, fish, and eggs has just soared to a new all-time high.

And it isn't just meat prices that are going up. One of the largest coffee producers in the entire world just announced that it is going to be raising coffee prices by 9 percent...

The MSM will read you reports from the Fed that claim inflation is tame but what's going on in the Fed's own cafeteria for example? THIS..

It took the Fed long enough but finally even it succumbed to the reality of surging food prices when, as we reported previously, it hiked cafeteria prices at ground zero: the cafeteria of the Chicago Fed, stating that “prices continue to rise between 3% and 33%.” So with input costs rising across the board not just for the Fed, but certainly for food manufacturers everywhere...

According to CNBC, one recent report warned that "your water bill will likely increase" in the coming months

According to Bloomberg, the price of gasoline hasn't been this high at this time of the year for six years

And our electricity rates are going up too. The electricity price index just set a brand new record high and there are no signs of relief on the horizon

median household income in the U.S. is now about 7 percent lower than it was in the year 2000 after adjusting for inflation

read the details and examples here if you wish http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-06-20/inflation-only-if-you-look-food-water-gas-electricity-and-everything-else

For Chicago it's worse. TAX, TAX, TAX, FINE, and FEE.

Rahm is grinning form ear to ear. holding paychecks back and them handing the money out like y'all won something in the negotiation process. Here, here's the money we stole from you now it's your turn to deal in good faith and give something back.. Are you kidding me?

We have had a missing door at my unit since before the winter, few cars have working computers, fewer have working cameras, many are falling apart. The interlocks in the newer buildings fail right after the warranty expires.

The city has money for bike trails, parks for the police hating wife of the former mayor, basketball arenas for teams that haven't even made the NIT, much less the NCAA , in years.

Here's a novel idea Rahm,,,spend money on the things that matter, not your libshit bike lanes, more roadscaping and Presidential libraries

What's this I hear that one of our new sergeants in 011 on 3/W signed off on an accident report completed on a formset that was from 1991???? Word on the street says a fabricated accident full of intentional mistakes was scribbled onto a 23 year old accident report and dropped in the review bin for approval. Sgt. Amy Winehouse gave it the green lite and sent it off to review. Is it safe to assume that she has obviously never done an accident report in her whopping 12 years on the job? Yet she's 'leading' the troops in 011. How fucking pathetic is that? And some of you goofs still think the whole promotional process is legit.

Maybe the sergeants instead of returning poorly written and inaccurate reports for a rewrite should spar the officer ? N one wants that for sure.

I thought I heard they were trying to make better use of the bike lanes the city has built. They're installing pegs on existing department bikes, and investing in tandem bikes as well to help transport prisoners into districts.

Heard the same thing. Only tandem bikes are too expensive. Transport will be on the front handle bars of the current bikes.

It’s a citywide phenomenon with regards to a very real shortage of working/available P.D.Ts, functioning vehicles, functioning working computers at the various police facilities in all bureaus except 35th Street and actual manpower. Lots of budgeted money and lots of federal grants with nothing to show should there be a private sector type forensic audit. God forbid if a large scale man made disaster or metrological catastrophic event should occur. The department spends lots of money on information networks, but neglects the end users of all this enormous volumes of information.

PDTs are a front line of communication for the blue shirts are unavailable or don’t work. P.O.s responding to hot calls can review offender descriptions or have knowledge prior to arrival when responding to a life threatening citywide incident. You just can’t keep tying up the air asking to repeat information which other should be accessible to responding officers. This is a real officer safety issue and a major public safety concern which merits sounding alarm bells across the city. Solve the PDT problems or replace those gold stars top to bottom one by one who can’t get the job done. Maybe we should begin with safety grievances for cars working without PDTs? Would a pilot fly without functioning backup communication equipment? Remember, squeaky wheels get the oil. You would think the entrenched big money F.O.P. elected representatives would be in the field with their membership addressing concerns instead of yuking it up with dirty politicians in Springfield and D.C and brown nosing with the national and state lodge.

If I’m not mistaken, the old traffic reports do not even closely resemble the newest traffic reports. A couple weeks back, didn’t one of those 4153 units on foot call out shots fired in the 3300 block of Maypole. The commendable actions of the recruits led to a call for assist after shots were fired at the police and then by the police. A responding 3rd watch sergeant then gets on the air and calls out on the top of his lungs, “GET THE CRIME LAB OUT HERE RIGHT NOW!!!”. The excited sgt then gets on the air even more agitated exclaiming that he doesn’t have yellow crime scene tape and a crowd is gathering. Obviously, the crime scene was more important than making sure the inexperienced and learning way too fast recruit was O.K. The safety of those who you command is more important than some hoodlum with a couple slugs in the coconut.

Obviously the sgt has not worked in a fast district. Fast districts are no place for wet behind the ears supervisors to get their "credentials" while riding around alone with their training wheels balancing out their “greenness”. This is not a game and your life can be lost in an instant. Good job with Kudos to the foot platoon, the VRI responders the leadership and direction by the experienced officers in 011.

I can remember a time when we had four sectors per districts and a wagon in each sector. Older police stations had "Ambulance" carved in over one of their garage doors. There were two folding stretchers in each squadrol. The green one was for deceased and the stories of moving bodies became the folklore of this department and the unofficial hard earned title of "Wagonman" meant toughness and reliability.

There were fewer CFD Ambulances then and our squadrols often made hospital transports of the sick and injured.

Maybe it is part of Rahm's plan, like towing and body removal to have prisoner transport privatized. That would put a few more buck in his campaign coffers.

I don't know, how much do you make on interest on your deposits? What is your bank paying? Maybe one half of one percent, if that.

So, if Rahm deposits $100,000,000, that is one hundred million bucks, leaves it in there for a year and collects gobs of interest, at one half of one percent, he gets the tidy sum of a half million bucks but it has to sit there for a year.

Do you think Rahm has a hundred million sitting around so he can make a half million in interest? I seriously doubt it.

I've been reading this "Jeez, he is making interest on our money" bullshit for years. They don't have the money to pay the bills, let alone make peanuts in interest on it.

I don't blame the vendors either, you can't stay in business if you don't get paid. I bet the vendors that supply projects near and dear to Rahmmy get paid forthwith.

This is the honest to God truth, the city for years has had to make purchase for goods and must pay inflated rates. They can also make so called Emergency purchase using a minority owned business, years back when Harold Washington was mayor the garages
were forced to buy tires from some Bullshit tire shop on the southside who was charging some outrageous prices. Life goes on as it did with Daley under Rahm.

Now, if we can just get Jeb Bush some health problems, we can be rid of these two families and their desire to be president.

The newspaper, Chicago Defender, back in the day, had a column titled " When the wagon comes, everyone goes." It was on the left side of the front page. Hilarious.

"my 28 year old niece who works in Oakbrook was walking to her car in the parking garage on Thursday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. and 2 little punk kids (14 years old) with 3 guns jumped out at her"

At that point, the problem isn't the parents, or the mayor, or the commissioner, or anyone else BUT your niece. When two punks armed with (as-it-turns-out toy) guns are threatening your life, you pull out your piece and you end the game for them. If you think they're guns, if they look like guns, they're GUNS. I'm sorry for your niece, but in this day and age, enough with the grief counselors and "fear of your garage". Prepare for battle, and when it comes knocking, you know what to do. If it came knocking and you weren't ready and you lucked out, take that as a severe warning. Get a FOID, get a CCW, practice, and be ready.

And it just so happens that, yes, I remember the wagon guys too. I don't know how, never been a cop and was born in 1970. But I remember them well. My grandmother still lived in the old neighborhood in the '80s when it started going downhill. That must be where I remember them from.

Used to be "falling off of the wagon" meant you stopped drinking booze. What does it mean now with no wagons up? Just a thought.

"Falling off of the wagon," always meant starting to drink again after you went on the Water Wagon.

In these times of monetary shortages, the CPD must learn to be flexible, improvise and make do. Be ingeious. Be thankful that pay-cuts have not yet taken place It is a time of sacrafice for the whole city.

Or Rham can divert tiff money. We're not broke, not when the city is moving forward with new basketball stadiums, new parks, and building hotels for wealthy corporations.
