No Shortages.....But....

McCompstat, Rahmbo and various exempts keep claiming there are no shortages of police, that we're up to strength and every district is fully manned. We've run some numbers and although it seems we're almost up to strength in white shirts, blue shirts are still a bit on the short side.

And then there's this:
  • All RDO's cancelled 01-03 Aug. $$$
Fiesta del Sol and Lollapalooza mean there isn't a team getting a day off. Or a night off for that matter. And next weekend is Billiken. And the entire overtime budget was gone in May, so who knows where all this money is coming from.

But hey, no shortages around here.

Don't forget about the Air & Water show in two weeks as well. There's quite a bit planned in the city over the next month; let's see how the manpower is spread throughout the event areas and the city's war zones.

Yeah, that additional buck forty a month on each phone line? That "911 fee"? The one that's supposed to help fund the pension shortfall?
Want to bet it gets siphoned to cover the overtime and the pensions will starve?

Yup, cover the overtime and starve the pensions, but Ari and his buddies will get ever-fatter off the non-stop festivals and parties.

What are the clowns running this shit-show going to say if this weekend catches on fire?

A variation of the same stupid shit they were saying on the July 4th weekend?

Oh well... They cancelled RDO's and it STILL won't be enough.

"Well... We've had too many coppers retire over the last few years. If we can put a lid on coppers escaping, errr... retiring, we woulda had enough manpower. BTW... We still don't need to hire. We haven't hit our stride in maximizing efficiencies yet."

Translation: We're more than happy to burn these guys at both ends by waving VRI under their noses.

What about the "officer fatigue" that McHasbeen was blaming the violence on? Now it's okay to work 3 weeks straight?

Mass transit, airports, narcotics very low, we are very reactionary it will take casualties to replace coppers, the money for us is being moved to illegals, link card scumbags, etc... Bottom line no matter the call back each other up, the ghettos will never change, protect your homeland and families and each other!

At the Jay Z Beyonce Soldier Field concert last week there was no police detail at the S. Calumet walkway over to Soldier Field that is a main drop off point and serves around 20 thousand fans on a typical event. With traffic at a standstill for blocks two officers were finally sent over on bikes and one officer in an SUV. When asked why there was no detail he shouted call city hall, we don't have the manpower! Apparently the first lady's attendance at the concert had left them short handed.

The phone tax is for what ever they want to use it for. State law still mandates the city pay their share of the pension so they would have to pay it with out the new tax. They just claim it's for pensions in order to rile the citizens against us.

Fiesta Del Sol is a community celebration held in the Pilsen community as a fundraiser for the Benito Juarez high School. Who was Benito Juarez? Why he was a liberal Mexican president who died in 1872 after serving five terms as a Mexican president. I’m happy to see another school built by U.S. taxpayers named after a foreign head of state who contributed nothing to America. He may be a hero in Mexico but not in America.

Word has it that, the Herbert lawsuit with the 70 quality recruits who were physched out by Ladner was just dismissed in Pre-trial Federal court. Any truth to this? But hey, we don't need 70 guys that are military or police family background, eh Rahm??

We have more detectives assigned to answering the phones now more than ever in Area North. It's no wonder crimes aren't being solved and OT is through the roof.

Very simple....

Forensic Manpower Audit

Publish the History.

If the city doesn't do it then FOP should do it...

or any candidate for mayor.

Screw Rahm and his Hatchetman.

Publish the numbers and the history.

Next transfer order will be huge. Unit 189 - The secret is well kept but 70 percent of the P.O. ' and white shirts will be moved to districts. All by senority. If you are detailed, you are going back to your district.

Few more smaller units will be purged by 50 percent and some will be elimanated. CPIC is losing a few as well as many in IA.

Are the 911 surcharges for "anything"? I don't think so.

I thought the 911 surcharge is for paying the expenses of that particular service - not any non-related salaries, pensions, or whatever expenses they need to pay off.

I question the validity of the surcharge being used for "other" purposes.

Manpower is good in district law enforcement! Explain denied time off with only four others already having approved time due. This department is waiting until the last minute for officers to be detailed out having the XO to denie time due that had been approved mounts in advance . This forces officers to cancel trips etc. EVery special event had to have a permit and this department has more then advance notice of these events but still stick it to the districts. These events should be offered as special employment as to not deplete district manpower and would put the cost on the event for police service not on the department.

Boston and Chicago have huge St. Patty's Day celebrations. Good ol St. Pat wasn't from Boston or Chicago. He wasn't from America and as a matter of fact he aint even Irish. And neither am I!The celebration is for a hero to the local population. Going off your standards St. Patty's Day is pretty un American...and I'm a fan of his evangelism and passion to preach to people who weren't his own.
