Fioretti Exploring a Run

  • Ald. Robert Fioretti may not be running for mayor yet, but he’s searching for campaign staffers like a politician who’s thinking about it.

The 2nd Ward alderman, a frequent critic of Mayor Rahm Emanuel, confirmed today that he has hired a campaign adviser. And today that aide posted to a political job board a message seeking four top staffers for a potential run for mayor.

“Chicago mayoral campaign seeks senior staff” the posting reads, notifying potential applicants of openings for a campaign manager, finance director, field director and communications director for a “progressive challenger.” The post does not name Fioretti as the candidate, but lists his new political adviser, Michael Kolenc, as the contact.
Better than Rahm. Better than Karen. And seriously, what have we got to lose besides a dancing midget who hates our guts and a racist commie whack job? Expect more stalking horses to chop up every voting block in existence.

It doesn't matter. This guy might be a little better than Rahm and Karen but the damage has been done. The only thing you and me can do is hold on tight to the nearest light pole and hope the storm that is soon coming doesn't whisk us away.

Progressive? Trade one progressive for another progressive, seems ideal. Run from this as fast as you possibly can. Progressives are nothing but socialists wrapped up in ribbons and smelling like roses to make them more appealing to the voters.

From Bunker Hill to Antietam, from Somme to the beaches of Normandy, from the jungles of Viet Nam to the mountains of Afghanistan, brave Americans died to preserve our democracy. The landscape of the south is scarred with the remnants of burning crosses and memories of lynchings. Again, these brave Americans succeeded and gave all for the scared right to vote. Now, Rahm Emanuel has decided that their blood and sacrifice means nothing. He has decided that one man one vote no longer matters. All that matters is millions of dollars raised by those who will buy our votes by those who plan to gain from his administration. And that is what his Chicago First PAC is all about. Its only purpose is to trade campaign cash for future favors and to eliminate any form of opposition to his tyrannical hold over the city council. Anyone who disagrees will be eliminated (i.e.redistricted out), like Bob Fioretti was when he stood up for the people. Or to beat in an election any member of a Progressive caucus like the 8 alderman Rahm, and his crew is targeting. His history is clear. He has traded campaign donations for taxpayer dollars with the DePaul Stadium, Whole Foods, Marianos and the list goes on and on. Those who gave all are uncomfortable in their graves today knowing that their ultimate sacrifice is being taken away by a petty dictator.

You are right on the money SCC
the gate to the corral is sitting
wait for the stalking horse to
stampede if necessary.
But why can't the third and fourth
place wannabes stay out of the
running instead of making it
difficult for the challenger to
have a chance of getting the fifty-one percent or at least forcing a
run-off ? Those individuals needs
to have their behinds whipped because they know they don't have
a snowballs chance in Hell of winning. This is why we end-up with losers as our "political"
representatives from the white house to the state house and chicago city haul. Think about keeping your money for YOUR needs,
not theirs, then make your selection.
Once they are in there, they are there for life, theirs, not yours,
then they become like a bad habit,
hard to get rid of.

Voted for the sign...No.
Militant Black Panther supporter Ald. Haithcock (who he later unseated) sponsored the resolution but it never had a majority to pass. Also, some melon headed aldermen voted for a Fred Hampton Day, saying "they thought it was for Bears (Hall of Fame defensive tackle) Dan Hampton".
Point - aldermen don't and won't make good mayors.

i want a mayoral candidate who moves to undo residency.
Then, after that, just cancel my pension. You want to free up the city from all the unfunded pension liability once and for all?
Give me everything I've put in so far, plus the employer contribution, tax-free.

Then, stop deducting the 9 per cent you've been taking out of my paychecks. Then add the 9 per cent you're supposed to be contributing to match.

Then add 2 per cent since that's all you're giving me in a raise after all this phony "contract negotiation."

After that, I'll be a mature, responsible adult, and worry about my own retirement, since all your so-called pension "fund managers" and "investment advisers" couldn't seem to do anything but create an insolvent mess but still make sure to take their 7 figure commissions on failed investments and other schemes.

The official address is 100 E Erie. They could be somewhere much cheaper, like office space in one of the County buildings.

Did you know that one of the commissioners is Patrick D. Thompson, noted expert on water treatment and reclamation? Not really, When he was running he gave as his qualifications for office as a deep concern for water and he took a course in college once on that stuff. This is his first elective office. Others made way for him.

He also is grandson of Richard J. Daley.

That bothers me a lot more than offices on/near Michigan Ave.
