Shootings During Daylight
Usually, Chicago shootings occur during the hours of evening and darkness. Everyone is finally awake, riled up and most times, drunk/stoned off their asses. The odd shooting during the day was an aberration. Not so much nowadays:
- Two people were fatally shot and several others wounded in day time shootings, police said.
South and west sides again. Have the house mouses been deployed yet? It was a Monday, so they should have been out there. Somewhere. We think. How does McCompStat expect deploying inside people Monday through Thursday when the sun is up going to cut down on Friday/Saturday/Sunday mayhem?

There is no time, no day, no night, no week/weekend, no season for people who've never worked in their lives -- just turned loose at random to grab the low-hangin fruit and yell "WHOO!"
Face it. There is no right, no wrong, no standards except "Don't snitch," no law, no common sense, no order, no morality anymore.
Deal with that.
One advantage of daytime shooting is that good aim is easier. But, may not have as many targets. Good bangers are home asleep.
Try pulling some of the officers from working the over crowded desk in the districts!!!!! CPD has hired detention aides so where will the lockup officers go? They're bided for the lockup and NOT the desk!!!! How many officers does the commander need in his/her office? How many officers do you need working in CAPS? I'm not going to mess with the timekeepers for obvious reasons. Another thing.......Why does the inside call officers off the streets to do a "Station Assignment"? That's total BULLSHIT!!! Get a car and do your own station assignments!!!! I don't care if it's a food run or a run to headquarters. Do it yourselves!!!!

They have to be back at their jobs on Fridays to finish all the work that piled up Mon/Thur.
Looks like the weekend carnage has spilled over to Monday. Violence is out of control. Be prepared.
SCC, I was thinking about the meeting the city had a few days ago regarding crime. The whole "crime is down" bullshit they keep feeding the sheeple again and again. I read somewhere that supposedly we are up to full strength with p.o's. Well we all know that full strength is about 2-3 thousand less p.o.'s then we had before Rahm cut those positions from the budget. But the other interesting question I have is shouldn't we have more p.o.'s than we are budgeted for? I know the city receives federal funds from different grants for hiring police. Wouldn't that mean there should be a surplus of officers? I know, everyone is saying right now that I'm an idiot cuz the city would never manipulate numbers. Maybe someone from the city that is reading your insignificant blog can explain to me why I'm wrong....
First time I ever witnessed a daytime shooting( If I remember correctly it was actually a murder ) was in the early 2000s, when the Hermosa neighborhood was the ghetto. As a matter of fact, most shootings I always witnessed usually happened when it was still daylight out. Granted, I grew up in two different northwest side neighborhoods and both don't have murder totals anywhere near south and west side neighborhoods. So maybe murder was just a night time thing, where as a shooting with only a wounded victim(s) is/was easier to get away with, day or night?
Fucking Ebola is creeping over in to the states, President Obama just signed a bill to place people in FEMA Camps, err, I mean detain people, his daughter is going RoadHouse on people(just added that because I found it kind of funny) and American citizens still find the time to gangbang? Just fucking great!
They are just spreading the love around the clock now.

Funny , listening to Joe Walsh on the ride home last night on AM560 and he went on a pretty long rant as to what a joke this "surge" was. These really are just the safe passage oficers rebranded. It not like an additional 150 are out there. I don't know about other places but 011's front office is full up. Homer brought 3 PO's and a Sgt with him that are in there, and no one from the previous staff was moved out. Barney has his own private secratary, yet they want to cut out the sworn lockup keepers and front desk down to one PO to feed their numbers game.Once again mismanage and blame the blueshirts.
When the 150 additional desk officers hit the streets I suppose the taxpayers can expect crime will go down because of this:

Serious point, a study in California of police involved shootings showed that "friendly fire" incidents were more likely to occur with plain clothes officers if they wore their badges on their belts rather than on their vests or on chains around their necks. It had something to do with the focus of the shooter's vision and seeing the badge in that area could make all the difference.

Hey Numbnuts there hasn't been a bid for lockup keeper for quiet a while or in other words that position is gone, they just keep putting officers in there because the bosses don't trust the detention aids. And another thing, try working that hellhole of a lockup on a fast district on 1st and 3rd watches, guarantee you won't want to work it again because in some districts it is an endless supply of work processing these parasites so stop comparing a regular beat officer to a lockup officer . Been there on both roles and one is not the better.

He pretty much said that there is a huge problem with mismanagement and staffing. I agree with him on this one. I see the same desk dollies with no time on the job working inside. They should be I the street in the field. Older officers should have the I side spots.

Yeah i do have plenty of other questions but first of all I've been a police officer for almost 20 yrs. Second you either cannot read or are as useless as tits on a bull. TIF funds have absolutely nothing to do with grants. TIFS are tax dollars siphoned from property taxes into slush funds that are all mostly completely unaccounted for. The GRANTS are federal funds given to cities to hire additional officers. Back in the day the DNP or distressed neighborhood project was a grant. If you had any time on the job you'd know what DNP was and you'd have a clue what it was like to actually be the police. Not just getting a fucking event number and driving around with the windows up while listening to the radio. If the city is claiming to have full manpower per their budget then any grant money the city receives SHOULD be used to hire ADDITIONAL OFFICERS. Now step away from the keyboard and let the intelligent adults have a conversation douchebag.

Here's my 2 cents
As far as I'm concerned about the bad situation here in Chicago aka Chirak as some or most people call it nowadays, I say f@#k it, the hell with the people and politicians this is what they wanted so I say to you brothers and sisters in blue, do nothing but the minimum just answer your calls leave some paper if needed and back your fellow P.O.'s. go home at the end of your tour and protect your own community, friends and family from these vermin coming into your own communities. This is hard to say but this is reality, the people and politicians mentioned earlier do not care about us law abiding citizens especially us in blue. The powers to be do not want us to police but rather babysit these parasites and in the process get Cr's and lawsuits and ultimately fired or thrown in jail for doing our job which is policing. For the rest of you blue-shirts that want to still make that sacrifice and difference then god bless you and keep up the good fight against these parasites.

It's a hands off policy today in the present and that's why crime is so out of control today. This is what the powers to be wanted, can't comprehend that myself but true.
