Karen Lewis Seriously Sick
- Chicago Teachers Union officials revealed on Thursday that CTU president Karen Lewis has a “serious illness,” underwent surgery Wednesday and is “alert and comfortable.”
But for the fourth straight day, neither the union nor Lewis’ campaign staff would comment on the nature of that illness or any prognosis for the charismatic union leader. And their continued silence raises serious questions about the viability of her all-but-announced campaign to unseat Rahm Emanuel.
Good news for Rahm as she was definitely the more charismatic opponent.
Bad news for Rahm - a three way race with Rahm, Lewis and Fioretti seems all but doomed. If Lewis endorses Fioretti, there's a better-than-average chance Rahm loses.
