Slow Learner

For being so politically "astute," the 9.5-fingered-ass sure is tone deaf about the Great Chicago Fizzle:
  • Mayor Rahm Emanuel indicated Wednesday he’s ready to double down on the Great Chicago Fire festival despite a first edition that fizzled last weekend as he looked on with tens of thousands of people along the Chicago River.

The mayor would not say whether he would once again spend taxpayer money on a second edition of the festival after the first one got $1.35 million or whether Redmoon Theater would continue to organize it. On Saturday night, the event’s signature moment fell flat when the planned torching of three faux Victorian homes floating on the river failed to ignite following heavy rains. It prompted veteran Ald. Ed Burke to dub it “the fiasco on the river.”
Anyone know if Fioretti is paying attention? Karen Lewis is in the hospital with "undisclosed issues" - she's this close to being out for the election. The copper from 012 - pipe dream. Same for that other political guy. The pieces have fallen into place and Fioretti should be slapping Rahm with this.

Burke sees which way the wind is blowing. Co-opt Lewis to endorse Fioretti and Rahm is a bad memory.

Persistence pays. If at first you don't suceed try and try again. Rome was not built in a day. When it comes to Chicago fires, our mayor has the right idea. What is wrong with spending a little bit of the taxpayers money for a whole lot of taxpayer enjoyment and recreation?

And yes, even a racist.

You should hear those nasty, deeply closeted North Shore and Gold Coast types talk when they think there are no "outsiders" around...

They REALLY give it to people they feel are their social inferiors.

For some reason they hold cops in much contempt and that's hard to understand... Who are they going to cry for when Dude gets close enough to blow in their ear and caress that tender, unknowing ass?

Rahm is a Big Ego type who was burned by putting his imprimatur on 'his' newly approved $350,000 Taxpayer fueled Cgo Fire Fizzle. Now, with egg on his face, he's going to fight to the death to spend Taxpayers dollars to do it again so he can 'Show' us. Don't we pay enough for all of his desires...DePaul, Maggie Park, Shared Streets, Bike Paths, Violence Galore, extravagant CTA Stations in this bankrupt economy.....why didn't he put in his own bucks if he wanted a Fire so badly...he's got it!!! Guess cause 'His' money doesn't burn a hole in his pocket. When's the election, where's Bob???

And how many cities is Obama taking his entourage to in order to attend campaign fund raisers as the nation goes to hell??

Taxpayer dollars going up in a self grandiose ball of flames. The misses too!!

Who's running the country? this guy is either on the golf course or having dinner and drinks charging $50,000/plate to be there to listen to his bullshit in person.

Who's paying for this? Air Force One, Marine One. The security to make an appearance for Quinn for example? $50,000 a plate would pay for what...about 10 mins. of Air Force One jet fuel wtf?

Hey Rahm, take the money out of YOUR own campaign slush fund you wanna run something like this. Stop gouging the taxpayers. YOU PAY FOR IT!

Mayor Weasel should should be branded with this "fiasco on the river" for the election. How about a contest that could go viral for a campaign slogan like Rahm's Great Fire Folly of 2014. Someone with some computer savy could make him a reelection commerical with the videos on Youtube. Let's pick the best one and send it everywhere.

OT: Ever notice Rahm when he's at a community event and not speaking---when the camera turns towards him...he leans over to the next person to whisper to them as if he was a best friend...and of course, he always smiles for the camera. What a clod at our expense.

I read an account of this failed Fire Fest from someone I know to be a liberal political spin doctor.

In essence, they stated that it shouldn't be considered a "failure" at all and that when society finally finds a cure for cancer, all of the research conducted prior to that will not be considered a failure , but simply the necessary steps needed to attain success.

They then referred to the fest as "real innovation" and went on to urge Redmoon to not be discouraged and encouraged them to start working immediately to have a successful Chicago Fire Festival next year.

Hey, if I could get the liberal idiots to hand me $1.35 million every year to pull off this fiasco, I'd be standing in line at Rahm's door every year, too!

If Brian Howard (FAA firebug) is available, Rahm should think about hiring him to do the next Chicago Fire Fest!
He'd probably do it for a pack of Newports and a six pack of old style. He wouldn't be the first felon that the city hired or the city contracted out to. I guess it all depends on who Howard's clout is if he gets the nod.

Rahm is trying to burn through lots of money in an overt display of rubbing our noses in the fact that he his doing everything he can to NOT make the mandated $600 payment to our pension.

Let somebody short this rotten little shit-ass out of some money he "worked" for and see how HE will go on the fucking war path!

Again... You have a twisted little manling who has NEVER had to fight for, protect or defend a damned thing.

Just like an old movie...

The fort is in danger of being overrun and every boy and man is at a shooting position or is loading and priming rifles...

Rahm and his are dressed in womens clothing and are being poked from under their beds at bayonet point...

"We're too smart for you churls. That's why WE cut a deal to give up the fort. Too bad you churls don't have our vision and foresight!"

Nasty, traitorous fuck...
Overly comfortable with somebody else's sacrifice
and dealing with the ugly that would make the
North Shore Shit-Ass soil himself.

Go cut another propaganda picture of you posturing and "pointing" at some nebulous and uncertain far off thing that only YOU can see and the poor flunky of the minute has to play along.

Feverish little maniac.
Stay out of a Policeman's way for crying out loud and get over the fact that you never had what it takes to go eyeball to eyeball with the scary shit Policemen, Firemen, Paramedics and our family & friends in the Military have to confront.

Being a mascot and gofer in the IDF motor pool doesn't count.

Mayor Double-Down. Sure, it's not his money. Of those 30,000 spectators, how many were Chicagoans paying for the smoke & mirrors? Not too many.
The winner...not for profit - Redmoon Theater. Look them up, they're not a small potatoes operation, quite a list of donor$/$ponsors. Part of their beliefs statement is "...public art should be more than bronze statues of dead generals".
At what expense Mayor Double-Down ?
I digress.

If Rahm's justification for the Fire Failure was that "a lot of children were involved in putting the event together," then couldn't he think of something more constructive that would involve these kids? Like maybe picking up trash along the sidewalks in some neighborhoods or in the parks? Or working on the lawns of senior citizens who can't do it themselves and actually benefit the community? Or would one union or another object to using "child labor"?

Politicians love spending money that doesn't effect them or hurt their pocketbook. Name one politician with personal money problems. Is there one who was hurt during the last few years of our recession? Unlike us they are usually set for life.

The problem is that Rahm fancies himself smarter than everybody else because his clout and connections have made him more money than the average churl ever sees in a lifetime...

He "did it" all by himself.
Right?

>Snicker!<

He would be nothing more than Dr. Emanuel's foul mouth little fuck-up son who manages an Arby's and has a deep seated resentment of real men who serve in the public safety and military arena.

One of our Police Family members related leaving one of the nicer coffee emporiums during the time of the "Wedding Dress Under The Stairs" imbroglio just as Rahm was crossing the street to go in...

He stopped to size Rahm up... Rahm hesitated.
He looked Rahm in his eyes... Rahm looked away...

Our family member related that he was tempted to corner Rahm and shake his hand just to see how he would've reacted.

Heh... All kinds of funny... Rahm cornered by a big old scary gray-haired copper giving him a sincere grip & grin while standing on his foot so he couldn't escape.

"Hold still fella... Lemme look atcha real close..."
