Met Fabian Saldana while he was a sergeant in Personnel. The coppers and supervisors won't be disappointed. He's the best. Not that it matters, but he's a jarhead, too.
By the way,
I knew Noel Sanchez in 005 in early 1990s. Good guy. Came to my shooting and brought me Garorade. Met Brian Daley in 007. Smart guy. Did police work.
You know, I knocked this superintendent on this blog, but he does make some good moves.
And not so good, such as "Screaming Margie" to captain. Anxiety disorders dont make good supervisors.

Has anyone been paying attention to the police board rulings regarding residency cases? If you haven't, they have not fired anyone as far as I can remember. Can anyone name one person fired for residency? Even the guy living in Crystal Lake (still does) didn't get fired. Just food for thought.

He was. But once you make captain you get assigned to that unit until you have a spot. It was a weird thing made to hide a few captains when they went to the XO bullshit thing. PK is a great dude 015 you are lucky.

Every time I question whether I should have retired something like this reminds me it was the right choice. I was. Lt. with no clout. One of the ones who studied so hard that I beat the odds. No boss was happy I made it and I stayed on midnights in a shit district for ten years. This proves I would still be in patrol watching guys and girls who couldn't find superman in a phone booth run the department. The CPD has turned to shit one meritorious promotion at a time.
and let's not forget Walsh..... got a free bump to Captain that went without notice, now he gets sent right back to the D where he can continue sweeping Emanuel's shit under the rug.

This job is like being on the bumper cars. You can't control it. You know you are going to hit something hard. You just hold on and wait until they let you get of.

Didn't get what she deserved? As an inspector she gets a take home car and makes her own hours. No meetings with the community and no having to fill in for district commander. I'd say she landed on her feet.

The other Denis Walsh is still a Lt in 630.
Wedster isn't bad. She knows how the game is played, she's got clout and has obviously used it, but she's not a bad person at all. She does look out for guys, and will go out of her way to help someone out. She isn't hung up on formality and will even forgo the normal to make sure some things get taken care of. She did some dumb shit in the past, decisions I'm sure she regrets but don't hang her for that nonsense. She's not a bad person at all and I've worked with her a few times in a few places. A change was made and she landed on her feet and she'll be ok in the new spot. Any of this nonsense about messing with the commander's Sec. etc. is just BS, that's not the kind of person she is, and that not the kind of person that commander is either. And before you blow smack about my post, I have no ties to either of them, just my observation over the years.

Captains in detective division is something they wanted for years . Now and as in the past Sergeants run the watch , but now cpd doesn't have to pay 3 captains per district to do zero . It is a darn good idea .
Lieutenants should be assigned to areas and supervise a minimum of 3 districts . Let the Sergeants alone , we can run a watch . Captains will one day replace commanders.
It's all about saving money .

She and her crew were only allowed onto the tarmac because airport police assumed she was leading the authorized escort for the Secretary of Defense, who was also landing at that time. The guys in 015 are very lucky to get PK. One of the few good, hard working exempts left and much deserving of a Captain spot. Stark contrast to Pigott. Those guys and gals in 005 better be careful with what they do and say around him.
Piggot has never been the police and does not like the police. He is the worse kind of boss because he only cares about himself and making gold star. He WILL hurt people.

Don't kid yourself......he knows he will not be able to make commander out of the Academy. The only way he can make that is from Patrol.
NEVER been the police!!! Always been in units his entire career. Oh yea, except when he made Lieutenant....went right to the Fighting 21st and then the Academy...where he made Captain and stayed there.
If this doesn't portray clout, I don't know what does.

For the one who asked. Dennis Walsh made sgt in 1997 in the last class from the last legit test given before the merit bullshit came to pass. He was a merit pick for lt after receiving the medal of valor, police medal and carter harrison/lambert tree award for taking out an active shooter at Ford City Mall.
We should have more merit picks like him.

Yes I will give you that. Killed the bad guy very good work. But how many of us patrolmen have done the same thing and nothing? Its his family clout which put him in the position for the merit. Lots have good shoots/ incidents and get they get nothing. He was working as an off duty Sgt at Ford City Mall when it happened. Did any other copper get anything out of that besides him? Since you are in the know I'm just wondering?. Don't get me wrong I'm happy for him. Im jut wondering.

The people at the academy do high level work. That is why they are compensated with breaks. Maybe you should have stayed in school.

Whoever wanted the xo from 003 to go to 011 i know your being sarcastic. Be careful what you wish for. Lemmer is a walk in the park compared to the small ,sneaky, opportunistic , know it all in the 003rd dist. Makes lemmer look like a genius.

NO he will not be able to F… with the D unit POs the way he could with the staff pos etc of the patrol unit. The D unit wont have that shit
r the one who asked. Dennis Walsh made sgt in 1997 in the last class from the last legit test given before the merit bullshit came to pass. He was a merit pick for lt after receiving the medal of valor, police medal and carter harrison/lambert tree award for taking out an active shooter at Ford City Mall.
We should have more merit picks like him.

I know many Capts. on the list. Many of them are great guys. However, I wish P.K. from 024, who is now going to 015 the best. He is the real police, who always has the best interests of the POs at heart. He is not a micro-manager. Do your job, and he will fine.
Captain R W really doesn't reside with in the city limits....therefore no chicago sticker is required....
