Hate Crimes Against Police
- In the wake of the murder of two New York City police officers and a national debate about policing, the National Fraternal Order of Police is asking for the Congressional hate crimes statute to be expanded to include crimes against police officers. The union has more than 300,000 members.
Violence against police officers that is motivated by anti-police bias should be prosecuted as a hate crime, the nation’s largest police union is arguing in a letter to President Barack Obama and Congressional leaders this week.
“Right now, it’s a hate crime if you attack someone solely because of the color of their skin, but it ought to be a hate crime if you attack someone solely because of the color of their uniform as well,” said Jim Pasco, the executive director of the National Fraternal Order of Police.
After all, judging someone by the clothes they wear is at least as bad as judging someone by their skin, religious orientation, sexual preference, etc. according to liberals.
But then, it would seem that del Blasio, Sharpton, Jackson, Farakhan, Holder, Obama and many others would be guilty under a generous reading of such a law.

Obama and his crew could not even jump on Air Force 1 to go to France with the real world leaders to denounce Muslim terrorists but he sends holder what a joke he is making of our country, he can go golfing everywhere on our dime but can't attend an event like this,or come to an officers funeral murdered in New York, we can only hope and pray they don't build that Obama library here using up valuable park space and of course the taxpayers us will pay for this wasted building!

The first training film the Department used specifically stated that crimes against police are hate crimes. Early 90s.

I worked very very hard to defeat the Matthew Shepherd Federal Hate Crime Bill that was finally snuck in as an attachment to a Defense Authorization bill.
Hate Crime prosecution/persecution is 100% cultural marxist, as Eric Holder admitted they do not protect all Americans, just official PC victim groups which change all the time (Blacks, Hispanics (but not White Cuban Hispanics, gays, Jews, Muslim immigrants).
I argued that all premeditate murders are hateful crimes. How can thugs deliberately plotting and then murdering police officer - how can that not be a hateful, hate crime? What is it a "love Crime".
Plus the whole Matthew Shepherd incident was another hoax, the victim and the perp had sexual relations, were involved in narcotics transactions.

I disagree with this. We aren't a pack of pussies, so we don't need to be special and include ourselves in the classes of those who feel that the Constitution, which protects all equally, is insufficient and makes them a special class with special laws. Be an American, or fuck off. Liberia, Cuba and North Korea are waiting if you feel we are so offensive here.
Waste of time. Politicians just add a new unneeded law. If and officer is hurt its and aggravated battery and there is serious time if a judge wants to give it. If po is murdered what good would the additional hate crime law be.
On top of that it would be a federal law and the feds wouldn't prosecute the law anyway like the federal laws they don't prosecute now.
What if you are a gay or transgender black police officer? Which category of hate crime takes precedence? Who would get more pissed off, gay people? Transgenders? Blacks? Police Officers?
They don't have the death penalty and at any rate, if they did, it is 25 years down the road so it doesn't make much difference. It is only like going under for surgery. No hanging, decapitation or firing squad. Just a kind and gentle death, not like their victim.
If I had my choice of how I would like to check out of this life, I would pick to die like my grandfather, quietly and in my sleep. Not screaming and hollering like the passengers in his car.

But the definition of "solely" seems to vary by what race the attacker and victim are. Whites always attack solely by race, and blacks never do, at least according to the way the cases are ultimately handled. I would guess that the police would be treated as whites in such a scenario, rendering the law useless.

No crime is a "love" crime. The whole idea of attaching extra penalties because the victim was a minority is just cultural Marxist BS. Hate crime designation is a fraud. It eliminates equal protection under the law. Any law that is not made "in pursuance of" the constitution is technically null and void.

The nut jobs at the Bundy ranch kicked the Vegas P.D. nut job murderers out. You see, that's the difference. We, at least most of us, call out bad behavior instead of backing it because they are the same skin color or religion. Bundy got little support outside his circle. McVeigh is universally hated for his actions. For the record, sitting idly by is tacit approval.
That's what separates the civilized from the uncivilized.
