Sneed has learned Mayor Rahm Emanuel plans to give a Little League championship ring to each member of the beleaguered Jackie Robinson West All Stars baseball team.
The mayor, who earlier this week appealed to the president of the Little League International to reverse his decision to strip the kids of their hard-earned championship title, plans to present the rings to the team at a ceremony at next month’s City Council hearing.
The Sneed slobber here is unbelievable:
- The Jackie Robinson West All Stars were the biggest story in the country last summer when their dominant play in the Little League World Series brought them the national title.

I know there's a lot of sympathy in the media for the kids. But how is it possible that these kids weren't aware of the rule-breaking and complicit in the deceit ? They didn't know where their own teammates lived ? They didn't know the league district boundries ? C'mon.....

It is a great and gracious thing to do. The only problem is they have been de-championed and are no longer champions. The ring would be a lie. What kind of values are we teaching this kids?

I have no problem with this being done for the kids but any adult that was involved with cheating should have been asked to stay at home.

OK - it wasn't the BIGGEST story in the country, BUT it was probably the biggest sports story in this lousy town of perennial Losers.
I think the kids - who just did their job - got screwed. They should NOT pay for the adults mishandling of their team responsibilities.
The WORST thing is for the kids to learn that this was a RACIST thing and because they were black - that's why the trophy was stripped away. Bringing "race" into the argument is totally wrong. (Great job Jesse!!)
It's ALL about race and not because someone didn't follow the rules or lied about eligibility of players. Calling them on that isn't racist, it's being fair.
But there is talk that the same "recruitment process" was done in other years and no one complained about it. If that was the case, shame on ALL the officials and administration of the Little League.
As to getting "approved" in the beginning of the season, those who "approved" the team should lose their jobs and not the kids getting stripped of what they really worked for.
I know one thing, I watched more baseball watching those kids than in the last 30 years.
This is a REALLY bad life lesson to give not only to those kids who made a real effort in being more than a gangbanger.
It also sends a message to all future potential players that even if you go through all the hard work and win, Whitey will pull the trophy from you for some reason. (and that will become the next "Ghetto legend" that everyone will be teaching their kids.)

The mayor then got a little cocky and said. "He'll, I didn't even live in this state." Then after a brief pause he said "come to think of it, I didn't even live in this time zone and I'm still mayor."

OK, I'm a little slow on the uptake. But you cheat on a test, or lie on a job application you get fired. But if your a little black kid from Chicago and cheat you get a reward! This is teaching them a very good lesson for life.

As I was reading the increase of my mortgage escrow account due to higher taxes notice from my lender, I was listening to one of rahm's many commercials. There wasn't a single accomplishment that he claims that have anything to do with me! What the fuck am I paying for? Why would I vote for him? I can't wait to get the fuck out of this totally fucked up city! Disgusting! The only good thing about those commercials is that they remind me, just like every time I go past a traffic camera, to thank rahm on Election Day!

Little league announced no matter what the extortionist jackson and his crew do, the league will not overturn anything for the cheaters! Will rahm be on that bus giving out the "cheaters ring?"
