Closing In

  • After a high-stakes courtship by both candidates aimed at luring the pivotal black vote, millionaire businessman Willie Wilson has decided to endorse Jesus “Chuy” Garcia over Mayor Rahm Emanuel in the April 7 runoff.

Wilson said he made the decision, as first reported on chicago.suntimes.com, based on the feedback he got from literally hundreds, if not thousands, of his supporters through emails, phone calls and his extensive network of black churches.

He’s also held “three-to-five” private meetings with both Emanuel and Garcia to press his demands for both candidates to reopen at least some of the record 50 schools that Emanuel closed, eliminate red-light cameras and establish “fairness” in the awarding of city jobs and contracts.
We're pretty sure "fairness" is a foreign concept to most politicians, but Chuy's numbers must have looked better at first blush.

If Rahm wants my vote he needs to make that mandated payment to the pension fund before the election. This show of good faith might bring him in line with what's needed here. Since that will never happen, Chuy gets the nod.

I think this is good.

Rahm HAS to go.

If Chuy doesn't work out- vote HIM out in four years. It is THAT simple.

This HAS to be learned by the Chicago electorate - including those reading here:

YOU cannot reward incompetence and arrogance by re-electing them. Get them out.

Off Topic - Ald. Mary O'Connor (4!st. Ward) is going to loose for a few reasons. First is her Chief of Staff is arrogant, egotistical and abrasive. Second, she is non- responsive to constituent matters. An example is she only has one constituent night a month (most other Alderman have it once a week). Alderman spend less time in the restaurant, and more time in the office. Third, she does not identify with much of her core constituency, which are city workers. It does not take Russ Stewart to show how you loose Alderman. Good Luck in business, because the election is over!

Doesn't anybody realize that most, if not all, of those schools have been picked clean by scrappers? Anything of value has been carted away in trucks and shopping carts and scrapped. It'd be cost-prohibitive to get any one of those buildings back into working order.

Rahm you did this to yourself, like it though on your going to remove red light cameras, are these the same cameras that your "above the law" drivers like yourself blow through with the large gas guzzling taxpayer paid tanks you drive through jeopardizing the "children" crossing the street? Thought you were the "green" mayor you know why are you not in a Toyota Prius or similar gas saving car? Daley started the destruction of Chicago bond rating fell how many times again under you? Probably from the same place Rahm gets the money for the hundred million dollar overrun for the Bloomingdale Bike Trail, and the FOUR new boathouses for the one-percenters, and the SIXTY MILLION dollars for the selective-enrollment Obama High School, and the burning effigies of Victorian homes to 'celebrate' the Chicago fire, and the giant planters that impede emergency vehicles, and the new stadium for a private college with a loser basketball team, and a one million dollar 'grant' to CeaseFire, and 1.5 million paid to Safe Passage workers who are necessary because he closed dozens of schools, and now - his new tax-free, no-fee enterprise zones.

You m/fer's just won't stop with your pro-Rahm foolishness, eh?

Everyone capable of thinking for themselves KNOW a tax hike is inevitable in lieu of elected local officialdom actually manifesting the vestigal remains of balls and gutting give-aways to the perpetual non-contributory class and destroying all forms of corporate and phony charity "friends of Maggie" taxpayer funded welfare.

Bullshit on fees, fines, jackpots, snatch-backs, cuts, austerity and "efficiencies" aimed between the shoulder blades of middle class taxpayers because they're decent, business-minding people who won't get mad and light shit on fire like the catered to peoples an' folkses do.

There's enough money hidden to remove the tentacles of Rahm & Co. from the taxpayers pockets.

There are also enough non-working dead-assed catered to lay-abouts who do nothing but eat, sleep, breed, shit and shoot... Extract taxpayer treasure from
THEM and leave us the fuck alone.

Let THOSE m/fers learn to bleed while loving and being glad to be on the business end of Rahm's cuts, hikes and snatch-backs...

Hate to burst your bubble, but new Tribune poll out yesterday shows that since the election Rahm has increased his lead and now has a double digit lead over Chuy. Rahm 51%,Chuy 37%, undecided 11% the bad news for Chuy is even if all the undecided vote for him,hes a loser. Harold was pretty good for us? Dont think so. Follow the Korshak case regarding retiree health care. That was initiated by Harold in 1987, a fact. He did not want to pay ANY health care for retirees. For close to 30 years lawsuits have caused agreements to negotiate some sort of healthcare every 10 years until now It would have ended during Harolds term if he had his way. schools closed by who

Anyone who has heard Wilson speak or who watched the debates knew he was unqualified to be mayor. In fact, downright scary. He might be a rich man, as he was given a hamburger franchise for free, but I fear his " business expertise" really is not there. All minority smoke and mirrors. And, the fact Danny Davis supported him really tells the story.

Another Rahm sycophant heard from. It's not Rahm's fault. He inherited it. Sounds a lot like "It's Bush's fault".

Rahm has had it for four years and hasn't improved anything. He and his friends have done well, though. He is a continuation of the Daley years. Change your politicians often. It's the only way to keep them from stealing too much.
