Something Wrong Here?

We've been following this on and off as it involves one of the more polarizing figures in the Department, someone who seems to be the symbol of all that's wrong with the "merit" process and putting incompetent people in positions of power:
  • So Capt Lemmer gets a pretty fat EEOC complaint and they move his accuser out of 011 to 025 then switch her to midnights which she clearly stated she can't work and she was afternoons in 011. Is this retaliatory in nature against the whistle blower? Why didn't they just move him out of 011 it's pretty obvious that he is the problem. 
They can't move the problem child? They move the complainant? Wouldn't this be retaliatory in nature? Is the Department exposing taxpayers to a massive payout at some point? Rahm, is this move affordable? Or should we be asking Chewie?

What do you mean she can't work midnites?? Too bad for her. Then she should've passed up the promotion and stayed where she was at. Sorry, but I don't feel sorry for her. I didn't want to work midnites either but that's what happens when you're new. Get some time on the job woman.

promotion are given after some time has passed.

But it has to look legit so they move the beefer.

Well I can't see the dept. putting themselves in a trick bag over this. If see's management then she needs to either bid to 3rd watch or she will be stuck on 1st. It doesn't matter what district she is in. she needs to bid. By the way....has anyone noticed the BS by district bosses involving watch bids? many have picked furloughs on midnights then been placed back on afternoons shortly after. Total BS to the 3rd watch bidders and defeats the whole purpose of "furlough by watch." Typical BS and FOP knew it would happen. In my unit 4 picked their furl. on midnights and have gone back to 3rd watch. No watch bids have been posted. Typical. Thanks FOP!!!! FU! Liars!

Maybe everyone there should file one of those complaints. Then they'd send everyone who complained to other districts and the good captain could police the entire district by himself. This department is so ass-backwards that it's not even funny.

Thats wrong. The officer shouldnt be punished or inconvenienced for doing the right thing. Sounds like this lemon guy should have been moved and/or suspended.

Wasn't Serpico a "New Yawk" example of retaliation against a whistle blower? If they would start to nail incompetent bosses with punitive damages, instead of leaving taxpayers with the entire bill, I have a feeling people like Lemmer and Masters would think twice about they do to subordinates. This Sgt. has always been stand-up, Old School and an advocate for P.O.s; maybe that's what Lemmer can't handle, she is The Real Police.

Clear retaliation, unless the complainant requested the transfer. The employer must take steps to ensure that the harassment does not continue, but if the complainant can show the moves were detrimental to her then it can be considered retaliation.

This happened to me once. It really was hilarious, even though unpleasant. I'd been working afternoon/evening shift from 3pm to 11pm. After a "minor" row, my hours continued to be 3-11. Only problem, it was 3am to 11am. I kinda felt like I was the milkman.

I had a beef with a former white shirt and I settled it my way. He was surprised as aw hell. Told him to go ahead and beef on me! The dirt I have on you will make pig shit look clean. He never said a word to me again and has since moved out of state. He was nothing more than a Big Bad Bully Boss who needed to be put in place. When you show then that you have bigger balls then them, they all of a sudden leave you alone.

And yes I would do it again if harassed by any white shirt.

The citizens in 011 should be complaining about all the illegal stop and frisks that officers are forced to conduct on them by getting the contact cards that are required by 1100X.

Suggestion, there are some good people working 1st Watch in 025 including LtMP. If you go in as a victim and take it out on the troops you will have a hell of a time.

If you go in a someone who knows their job, willing to help and looks out for the troops then you could be in for a good time if you make it so. Give them your best efforts and it will be rewarded. The attitude you show will be everything.

The City probably gave the victim the option to move or stay. If she stayed, shit, she would be in 011, so she probably took the deal thinking 025 was her savior. At least she is away from knucklehead!!!!

There is nothing wrong with moving the complainant. It is an immediate solution pending an investigation. If they left her she may have a complaint that the problem is still on-going. They can't, and shouldn't just move the person who is getting accused because of a yet unsubstantiated complaint. How would that work if they did? Lets say I hate my boss. He or she won't let me have an early car, or they continually expect me to do some basic work, or they continually try to discipline me for slow response times, sleeping or any other host of BS issues. I don't like that I can't come late or leave early or both, and don't like that they continually pull rank on me and make me do stuff I don't think I should have to do. (Lemmer is an exception to all this since he is actually a tool!). So bottom line, I don't like one or more of my supervisors so I decide I'll fix them. I file a beef. Get a CR number and make it an EEOC beef maybe too. Say harassment, or sexual harassment or hostile work environment. So now, because of this unsubstantiated beef the Department moves this boss I hate out of the District and I am free to do what I want. Problem solved. I lie, or embellish and they move him or her, disrupt their life and put a cloud above their head. Think about it folks, does that make sense? NO. Its the same if a complainant is beefing on another PO. Maybe someone they work with, or don't want to work with. Or someone who turned down their unwanted advances or any other issue of sorts. I'll fix them! I'll beef and the Department will just move them. It doesn't work that way, and it shouldn't. If you beef, then expect to be moved, just to ensure your safe, comfortable and you're no longer the recipient of unwanted attention etc.

I live in 1935. I saw a district vehicle with the tag 1944 on it today while I was working. Is that a traffic or rapid?

Just curious as I like to try to guess just for the hell of it

I remember when a Sgt. was caught having sex with a subordinates wife (who was not a Police Officer) in the Sgts. office in 025. Either the Sgt. or the patrolman had to go. So they transferred him. Oh, not the Sgt. They transferred the patrolman.

Capt. Fonzzie was caught double dipping. His was transferred. Six patrolmen were caught doing the same thing, four were fired and the others were suspended for 30. All of this occurred in the same time frame. They don't due shit to a Capt.

Property taxes, in most parts of the city, are very low. Yes, they will go up, substantially, just to balance the board of education budget and pay teachers pensions ( which by the way are way better then the cops). It seems just about everyone gets a 3% compounded annual raise except the police.

That sergeant was fired, he was a good sergeant, I worked for him. That patrolman was an Indiana hill billy sex swinger. Only reason he beefed was he wasn't there to watch, plus he thought he was gonna hit the ghetto lottery for claiming rape. The sergeant should have fucked old girl in his personal car or some back alley on top of a dumpster, he would have still been on the job.

Speak for whatever your taxes are. Everyone's taxes aren't low. My taxes are hitting $7000, my neighbors three blocks away with larger homes are $12,000-15,000 a year. So not sure where in the City the taxes are low.

Evidently in every neighborhood in the city except yours and your neighbors 3 blocks away. I live on the northwest side in the 41st ward and have a decent size house(2000 sg ft) and I dont pay $7,000 No one im my neighborhood pays anywhere close to $7,000

You obviously have no clue who the Sgt is in this incident. She is brand new and a complete idiot. Old School?? You have no idea what old school is if you think she is old school. She rarely responds to scenes to give guidance and when she does it was many times some bad advice. Stand up???? Really because she lets half the watch go home early not thinking about how she is putting the remaining officers safety in jeopardy. This Sgt is a goof plain and simple. Everytime you try to help her she thinks she is being picked on. Maybe the men and women of the 025th will school her.
