If it's after 2:00 AM, it's an hour later than you thought it was.

PENSION PENSION
PENSION

Why is not every unions in the city doing add campaigns to force both Mayoral Canadates to produce a pension plan. The Governor is now saying the city is almost bankrupt and been sliding in that direction for years. This could affect not only workers but also every citizen in the city. If anyone owns property or a business in the city the value will dive 50% if the city files bankruptcy. This will have an effect on every Chicagoan!

The only ones saying the city is broke is the politicians. Explain to me then where did he get money for DePaul, Maggie Daley Park etc... The TIFS need to be challenged. The FEDS need to come in and do a FORENSIC AUDIT of the past two administrations. And if someone has to go Jail so be it. Daley won't he was one of the C/Is working when HDO and others went to Jail. The first sign Daley gave is when he ratted out Miriam SANTOS she had told Daley he couldn't touch the pensions. What happened Daley set up SANTOS and she went to jail. People connect the dots its not hard to figure out. The Daleys, Madigans, Burkes, and RAHM, THESE GUYS LIVE IN ANOTHER WORLD AND YOU CAN'T AFFORD BUT PAY YOUR TAXES for their benefits.

idiots! bankrupcy is a new language in corrupt cities like Detroit. In Chicago its business as usual you fools re-elected the Daley's term after term. The Daley administration, aka "Uncle Richie Daley" is responsible for without any public vetting, legislation creating the plan was slipped into a larger bill before it was signed into state law in January 1991 has leveraged city pension funds for political purposes;
Fact: Aldermen and other elected city officials became eligible to receive up to 80 percent of the salary they earned during their last month of work;
Fact: we receive 70 percent of our average highest annual salary over the previous 10 years;
Fact: Aldermen can also reach the maximum benefit with just 20 years of service, compared with ours of 30 years for everyone else in the municipal pension plan;
Fact: Data from the pension fund shows that Aldermen retired with an average of 25 years of service; and roughly the same as the average retiree in the municipal pension plan;
Fact: average payout to those aldermen is $81,000 a year. But because they can retire at 55 and their pensions grow by 3 percent compounded annually for the rest of their lives, the average amount will eventually increase to $165,000 a year!
Fact: our pension payout is 50%-75% without the extra value benefit!
Fact: result is that many aldermen will end up making more in retirement than they did when they served on the council!
Fact: former Alderman. William Beavers, who is alleged to have failed to pay taxes on money taken from his campaign accounts to buy into the Alderman pension plan. Beavers is now receiving a city pension of more than $91,000 a year and is also eligible to earn a county pension based on his $85,000 salary as a Cook County commissioner!

The pension revisions came as Richie Daley was running for his first full term as mayor. He went on to dominate city government for five more terms with frequent support from "you" and organized labor and the acquiescence of "his puppets" aka the City Council. During his tenure, Daley appointed nearly three dozen aldermen, many of whom went on to earn full aldermanic pensions.

Now considering the above, comes Patrick Daley Thompson who wants to pick-up another pension! Yup!, first it is the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District and now this Bridgeport neighborhood resident wants to put another pension into his bank account, Alderman Pension fund!

Vote For John Kozlar for 11th Ward Alderman and Jesus Garcia for Mayor!

stop the business as usual down at the Hall!

May be they should get out of the endorsement business all together.

May be when politician go before a board notes should be taken or a video should be taped just like at FOP regular meetings.

Unless you really don't want member to know what the board is doing in closed session.

I showed me. Sure as hell wasn't anyone out of the sandbox. Ever build your own RS-232 breakout board to figure out the null-modem wiring to get a Diablo daisywheel printer thundering away? They used to offer sound-absorbing enclosures for the things. What a tank.

I'm grateful to those Swiss physicists at CERN who thought it would be good to have an electronic means of communicating scientific information worldwide. Now look at the Web. HD movies of people inserting ears of corn into themselves, ghetto beatdown videos, and Moldovan banking scams to try to get your credit card number...

Gotta go fire up the home-CNC-converted Monarch 10" x 20" and work on my rocket nozzle now. That Inconel is a real bugger to machine...

Oh. I'll have to get a bucket boy up on the car and ask him what the problem is with svchost.exe:5324 on this thing. Loading the CPU 100%. Something to do with the DNS cache.

Tell me more about the ignorant old folks...

Hey Rahm, if you want a guarantee win on April 7, all you have to do is put up the money for our pension.

Yep that will sure do it. Those extra few votes will guarantee the election. If only it were that simple.

Just wondering, if say two high ranking Exempts were to retire before the election (Al and Wayne), do you think Rahm would be forced to boot Gary?

Why would Al and Wayne retiring before the election have anything to do with Rahm firing Garry?
