Some political history for the CPD Rahm voters..Mayor Harold Washington negotiated a 18% pay raise over 4 years for Chicago Police Officers. That was the only decent Contract we have ever gotten from a Chicago Mayor with the only other exception being Mayor Jane Bryne.Go ahead you Goofballs and vote for Rahm Emanuel and when you lose your pension and deferred compensation, don't bitch and complain about it..Ya got that? A vote for Rahm Emanuel is to give the Weasel Ballerina the Ok to f#×k you over..

And remember, no early voting for the runoff.

Get your absentee ballots or make plans to vote at the polls on 07 April.

Visit Chuy's NW side headquarters at 4300 W. Irving Park Rd. to volunteer or get a yard sign.

Obama Library going to NYC.

Michelle Obama said absolutely, no way do we help Emanuel.

The best 9.5 could do was get them to delay the announcement until after the election.

Strategy now is to double down on TV ads funded by American oligarchs and plutocrats.

rham is showing his true abuser self. first he abuses and beats you. then he apologizes says "you know i can't help it thats me that how i am, but its tough love its cause i care" "ill try and do better though in the future" and then he promises to get rid of the stick or belt (i.e red light cameras)

3/10/2015 08:45:00 AM

And if you're a good little domestic violence victim, you have such low self-esteem that you vote for your abuser because you're stupid enough to believe he'll change.
He won't.

Rahm has fucked the retirees on health care already and you idiots that are still working will be on OBama Care in minute you retire. Same plan as the ghetto rats.
Rahm don't care about your family at all stupid. Big money already took care of him and his family and all he wants to do is pay them back with TiF Money and contracts. Your family can eat shit as far as he is concerned. He wrote you off fool just like the public school kids and the 75 yr old seniors, no cancer treatment, from OBama care.

Not voting for Rahm because you don't like his personality is not a good reason. I don't understand why people keep saying he's trying to take our pension. If your source on this is some guy who you talked to a roll call, get better facts. He unlike Daley wants to actually pay into the pension and with that comes tough decisions. As always be safe.

No, my source is better than some guy at roll call. It's some little pipsqueak named Rahm Emanuel, and he was standing at a podium in front of a bunch of news crews when he said he would not pay into our pension unless he got serious pension reform and that would mean everybody, including us, would share the pain.

THAT is my source. I watched that interview LIVE a couple of years ago. I don't care if it's been purged from news archives, I don't care if you campaign workers for Rahm come here and try to rewrite history. I know what I heard, and I see the damage this arrogant, foul-mouthed, redlight-blowing, smirking, holier-than-thou, Machiavellian spendthrift has done to my city, my home and my financial future.

Go peddle your tripe elsewhere.

Trying to make coppers believe the candidate hates them when there is zero evidence of it, to try to turn a few votes in Rahm's direction? We're a little smarter than that.

Are you high??? If he WANTED to pay into the pensions, then he would have done it all along, instead of wasting millions on all of his pet projects over the last 4 years. He is just like Daley- if it weren't for the IL Supreme Court's decision that mandates this payment emmanuel wouldn't utter a word or do one damn thing about it. He STILL hasn't done anything but wait for the deadline. Everyone talks smack about how garcia hates the police -- and rahm doesn't?? You people want to actually re-elect an asshole that has not only proven his hatred for you, but actually plans on inflicting more financial and social damage upon your lives with his management policies. Like someone posted before, don't be the west-side girlfriend with two black eyes that can't leave Cleofus because she loves him and says "he only git like dat when he drinkin' "

One would have to be a little skeptical about those endorsements since thy have been firmly in the Rahm camp until now.

Rahm knows many responsible voters, the ones who voted against him, find them repugnant.

And to the poster that thinks Rahm is concerned about our pension: He has been in office 4 years and has refused to make the pension payments. How much proof do you need? He is not on our side.

There is a widening disparity of wealth in this country. Big money has bought elections. Both parties are bought by these big money interests. That is why you have "Republicans" like Rauner and Kirk supporting a 'Democrat' like Rahm. Any defeat to the chosen candidates of these interests is a good thing for us in general. If we elect Chuy over Rahm, and Chuy becomes the lap dog of these interests, he will know that we will put him out in four years. Please Vote.

Where do you get your info? The city has been making there payments as always, 2 dollars to our 1. Point is it doesn't work. It is based on a factor, of 2, instead of an actuarial formula which is driven by the markets. That is the states fault, and the current law.

Maybe because to do so he would have to raise property taxes and he wasn't forced to by SB3538 until 2016. Do you think a mayor inherits a debt of 550 million and he just pays it,with what funds?
Also as many on the blog says he will leave Chicago in 4 years even if he is relected, that could give him an opportunity to pay into the pension funds even tho it raises property taxes. If he was leaving anyway he would not have to worry about re-election a play from Obama's playbook

Not quite right. I wish he would have paid it by now, but he legally postpones it because SB3538 dictates the funds will come from property levies(property taxes) Those from 2015 are not paid until 2016 You are always a year behind on the property taxes

3/12/2015 10:49:00 AM

Oh, hurrah; yet another City Hall intern posting in defense of Rahm, to save his little job. HOW could he pay the money back? Really?

If I inherited a 550 million dollar mandatory payment, I'd forego that hundred million for the Bloomingdale Trail for a couple of years and I'd dump the 100 million into my lawful obligation.

If I inherited that pension obligation, I might have told DePaul to fund their own brand new unnecessary 140 million dollar basketball stadium and I'd have plowed THAT money into the pension debt.

And, maybe a year later, I'd have admitted to the folks who ride bikes four months a year that it could be another year or two til I slathered the city with bike paths, because I first had to fulfill the pension payment, to avoid paying interest on loans or bonds and mortgaging their future.

In other words, if your credit card is maxed out, you don't wait til the last day to pay it down. That money costs you more every day you don't pay it down or pay it off. Pay it down incrementally and get it behind you, so you CAN do some good going forward.
