Weather Warms Up, Shootings Up
- Two people were killed and at least eight others were injured, including several children, in Monday shootings on the North, South and Far South sides, officials said.
About 6:30 p.m., police responded to the 200 block of West 105th Street on the Far South Side and found four people with gunshot wounds, police said.
In that shooting, a 77-year-old man was dead in his home, 5-year-old in the home wounded, 34-year-old mom wounded loading her 2-year-old in the car, who also caught a bullet and is in critical condition.
What lives matter, again?
Add in a few more in Englewood, Back of the Yards, and other hoods. The one up north got drilled right in the chest and was dead on the scene, so it's probably safe to say he was targeted and no bystanders were injured. Small comfort to the bean counters and McCarthy, who will probably still say something about Contact Cards and CompStat solving crime.

Reading FOP's own rules it says that their d5 pay rate will be from the 1987 position and salary schedule, Captain $52,551.00. The increases to the FOP's D5 salary will increase the same as increases that are negotiated for the patrolman. The 1987 position and salary schedule doesn't say anything about quarterly differential payments, or salary increases to their fire department counter parts, yet it seems that FOP higher -ups working in the office are receiving the same quarterly differential payments negotiated by the captains years later and any increases granted to their fire department counter parts. So on top of their captains pay, their quarterly differential pay that was never part of their base pay in 1987, raises negotiated by their fire counterparts, they are still receiving an annual $7000.00 per year stipend. But can't even manage to get their own website working. No 2017 contract in the contract section, 2 photos in the photo gallery, Legislation still list Mike Shields as president, unbelievable.

They've been moving to online retrieval and printout for a few years now. I don't know if you can 'blame' Rauner for this.
You can call and a packet will be sent to you, but why not go online (since you're already online, it shouldn't be a problem) and print out the forms you need?
The tax forms are available online. I printed one off of my Commodore 64 with my dot matrix printer.

(Reported elsewhere) there's a concern among the committee (Val Jarrett, Michelle and Barack Obama and others) that Chuy Garcia might not be as amenable as Rahm is to giving away the land and other perks required for the library, so they're holding off making the decision.
If Chuy is elected, they'll probably talk with him first, to determine what they're dealing with. Then they'll make the decision. In other words, it's our if Rahm wins, it's 'probably' ours if Garcia wins.
You know, we had no Presidential Library last year and, if we don't get it, we won't miss it.

Before saying this I voted for fioretti. I have no clue who or if I will vote this time. Don't think that chuy is the savior. Chuy was guess who's right hand man?? That's right, little baby Todd Stroger. Chuy wants a 15 dollar an hour minimum wage and he has sponsored in the 90s many anti police violence rally's against the cpd. No, you weren't. You were blaming Bruce Rauner for something that pre-existed his run for governor, much less his inauguration.
And if White's pictures bother you, call his office and ask what the line item dollar amount is for his pictures. Don't try to deflect attention from your original post and your original point. (And whether they print copies of the tax forms or don't, it has no effect on whether we get a pension, or not.)
