The Biggest Pander?

  • Mayor Rahm Emanuel changed gears Tuesday and pledged to dedicate the jackpot of revenue from an elusive, publicly owned Chicago casino toward solving the city’s $20 billion pension crisis and the $10 billion in unfunded pension liabilities at the Chicago Public Schools.

The decision to earmark casino revenues exclusively for pensions is a sharp turn for Emanuel.
THAT is a major tectonic shift for Rahm. A political bombshell. A game changer.....if true.

Get it in writing first of all, because the Lies of Rahm are enough to fill encyclopedias. This has been suggested here and elsewhere dozens of times, and all of the sudden, it's a Rahm Position?

Yeah sure because Rahm is such an honest man and never deceitful. He would never lie to get elected. What a load of BS! Politicians always treat any type of revenue as their personal cash cow. He would spend casino money on everything other than the pension that the politicians destroyed. The fact that he waited til now to say this should be a clear sign that he will never do it even if Chicago did get a fantasy casino.

It's a huge shift for Rahm and most likely he's lying through his teeth. Politicians will often say anything to get elected and in that regard Rahm is even more slippery and slimy than your average politician.
Rahm has always said he wants a casino whose revenue is earmarked for "the children" not for existing debt.

Don't trusr this arrogant, pandering asshole for even a split second.... you don't change a zebras stripes and Rahm is hellbent on ruining our pension.

Always ask ...WHY?

What is the hidden agenda?

Casino money is money only in theory, IF it is built, IF the people come and spend, IF the mob doesn't skim all the profits.

The TIF MONEY on the other hand is real hard cash, in hidden accounts that connected people have and control and do not want to give it up for an obligation like employee pensions.

Theoretical money vs. Real money.

More Democommunist bullshit.

And down the road, if Chicago does get a casino, Rahm (or whoever is in office at that time) will pull a "Just kidding!"

Hmmmm...

The REAL Muthafuckin' reason the LaSalle St. and Wall St. money conjurer financiers/bankers are literally rolling
100 ton hopper cars of loot to Rahm to keep him in office?

www.salon.com/2015/03/17/not_true_and_they_knew_it"_what_rahm_emanuels_wall_street_craze_cost_chicago/

By David Dayen

As was originally suspected,
Rahm Emanuel is the "cleaner" sent here to cover and conceal evidence of the monstrous financial crimes that these money conjurers committed along with Chicago's entrenched elected elite class.

Using the media to keep propaganda hotted-up about how teacher, police, fire and other muni employees pay, benefits and pension are wrecking this city financially while he is the only one who can take on the unions and make "tough" decisions.

Donkey Dung...

Salon.com has a series of articles snatching the covers off this orchestrated mess.

It seems that the bankers are worried about the possibility of CPS taking action to snatch back billions in vigorish from Wall and LaSalle Streets for having sold CPS a bill of goods on how volatile/dangerous/fucking toxic various financial instruments (auction rate securities, interest rate swaps and the like) were.

Constant comment on how the city is virtually locked into these eye-watering things for DECADES of paying juice on the damned things before a penny of principal is reconciled.

The banks structured this rotten shit so that it can't be refinanced... They get their money or the city/CPS can sue...

Rahm says fuck y'all and an elected school board.
He's here to protect his friends.

Fuck Rahm and fuck Chase, Bank of America etc.

Legal action might lead to some very wealthy asses decaying alive in federal custody.

Note:
This shit has been going on for years.
The same fuckers who made money under Shortshanks are making money under Rahm.

Observe:
The SEC, DOJ, FBI and a host of other fedgov agencies straining and shitting themselves with the great effort it takes to look the other way.

To have been a fly on the wall when the made members of Daley Inc. decided to send "Brother's Keeper" to the White House to stymie any fed sniffing around into all the taxpayer treasure that has vanished.

This article lays Rahm out for closing 50 schools and realizing a cost savings of $25 Million.

Translation:
Strictly a hit-back at the teachers for striking considering how many Billions CPS has pissed away.

Meanwhile, Rahm ain't giving a fuck.

Some cities have pushed back on this shit and won but the banks are able to wrest confidentiality agreements
As part of the settlement so us churls will never know the score. By design...

Hey!
Crack investigative reporters in Chicago!
Start HERE you sorry whores!

Hmmm...
Joravsky and Dumke, (Chicago Reader) along with Matt Tiabbi (Rolling Stone - 26SEP13 "Looting the Pension Funds") and David Dayan pretty much tell it on Rahm and Daley's financial Fuckery with the bankster bunch.

Rahm is just protecting their interest.

Viva Hate.

Las Vegas is in trouble, Atlantic City Casinos are folding. A Casino is no guarantee for financial success, and remember Las Vegas has decent weather and almost gives food away! Chicago and the Teamsters strangle and strong-arm anyone putting a venue in Chicago. Consider McCormick Place, some of the conventions coming here today do so because they get a discount on using McCormick Place. One major convention gets use of McCormick Place for $1 dollar! One Dollar! The Auto Show gets a 30% discount. The Weather sucks in Chicago, and everything is overpriced! A Casino is only going to draw the most undesirable people, many of whom already live here to wherever it is located. Rahm is full of shit with this plan, and by the way, what about the 4 yrs. he already has had? This Casino idea just came to him this week, as he faces a runoff? More Rahm bullshit, like he fed us when he worked for BJ Clinton and BO."G"

Still not going to vote for the little fucking prick. Now that people know the "Chicago pension crisis" isn't really a "crisis" we'll see what happens. Still, fuck you Rahm. You picked a fight with, and wanted to "stick it in our ear" for no reason other than pure elitism. We care for this city more than 99% of the people who frequent or live hear. We work for the city, send our kids to school in the city, live in the city, care for the well being of our community and neighbors, and that meant jack shit to you. You picked a unwarranted fight with the fabric and shoulders of the city for no reason.

I hope Chuy can learn from rahms mistakes. Chicago and Chicagoans are a different element. What makes this city work are the people who persevere over the bullshit weather, taxes, traffic, politics, pandering, etc... All the backyard reverends, race baiters, political hacks can keep trying to divide the many different races and religions of Chicagoans, but it isn't working. When it comes down to it, chicago is already intentionally divided by race, religion, ethnicity, socio economic background. What outsiders fail to understand is that most of that is by choice, and as Chicagoans we appreciate and respect that. We go to little village, China town, southside, northside, little Italy, and so on, to visit, eat, root for our teams. That's something a non Chicagoan will every understand. Good bye Rahm.

Unfortunately the idea of a casino in Chicago is a day late and a dollar short. Casinos are declaring bankruptcy around the entire country. Illinois casinos are facing a very difficult business environment due to legalized gambling machines that are saturating the metropolitan area. Lastly the new high minimum wage pushed into law would further decrease profitabilitY. Too late to get ob casino bandwagon. About 20 years.

Gambling doesn't produce value. It moves money from one pocket to another. Supply and demand Is the factor that killed Atlantic city. Same here, if chicago builds a casino, another in illinois will go bankrupt. They have two in quad cities. Aurora, elgin, Joliet will fight for patronage like never before. I was in nevada and California. Fo you realize how dependent these casinos are on oriental tourists? Las vegas cssinos put up decorations f or south Korean holidays. It is funny to see, but the orientals truly are a significant target market in vegas. Gambling is a tough, competitive business. People in ac found that out the hard way.

In writing my ass. The laws for funding pensions are already in writing and have been in writing for many years. Who in Illinois has paid attention to all that "in writing" crap?

This time it will be in writing and will start with, "OK, I know we've lied like a motherfucker before, but hey, that was politics, this is the real deal, well, OK, it's an election but I swear, this time it is the truth, really."

Then, the casino bill that passes will have a provision: "all profits from any casino within the City Limits of Chicago from now until the end of time will be earmarked for whatever bullshit project the mayor wants." There, then that is in writing too and that writing will magically supersede the previous writing that was not signed in blood.

Under the legislation, every adult citizen in Oregon who has interacted with the Department of Motor Vehicles since 2013 but hasn’t registered to vote will receive a ballot in the mail at least 20 days before the next statewide election. The measure is expected to add about 300,000 new voters to the rolls.

They all lie and tell you what you want to hear just so they can get elected. Thats the way they are. Just like the lottery was suppose to go for education. That never happened. One of them is going to be mayor, both are the same neither one is going to be our savior. Just have to deal with with either one when the time comes.

+++++ 'Mayor Rahm Emanuel changed gears Tuesday and pledged to dedicate the jackpot of revenue from an elusive, publicly owned Chicago casino toward solving the city’s $20 billion pension crisis and the $10 billion in unfunded pension liabilities at the Chicago Public Schools.' +++++

Bwaaahahaha! Tiny Dancer may as well promised that if he's reelected the city will give every resident a ***FREE*** Flying Pink Unicorn that poops $100 dollar bills, because 100% of nothing, is nothing. The reason it's nothing is that said 'publicly owned' Chicago Casino will never be built. Not ever.

Just look to Atlantic City as to why it's 'never', where casino after casino has shut its doors -- not sure if any are still operating. Even Trump had to shut his Atlantic City casino doors and if 'The Donald' can't make money in a venture and/or sees there's no money in something, believe it. He doesn't make many blunders when it comes to being profitable from real estate/commercial buildings/enterprises.

And everyone can thank 'King Barry' and his Fundamental Transformation. That son-of-a-bitch didn't only put the brakes on our economy, the f--ker destroyed it. Thanks to that asshole people barely have enough money to buy Bread & Hamburger, let alone have disposable income to gamble with.

So forget this bullsh-t by Rahm. It's not even one of those infamous 'Campaign Promises' politicians make with no intention on ever fulfilling, this is more like the delusional ravings of a madman.

post script:
============
Even if the casino was built 20-30 years ago, during 'the casino boom', today it'd be an empty White Elephant sucking on the city's finances like a vampire for general upkeep while they try to dump it for five cents on the dollar.

It's not a good idea to assume that a proposed casino would bring in a lot of money nor enough to fund anything to do with our pensions. Casinos are saturated throughout the states. The money they hoped to get is not being realized and they are being torn down or sold. Just be realistic.

I envision dusty shelves groaning with old leatherbound volumes -- the kind held shut with two straps with buckles.

The Rahm I. Emanuel Mayoral Library -- past the two chain-mailed men with halberds guarding the ancient nail-studded oaken door, then down, down, down the twisting steps into a stone-walled chamber illuminated by flickering wall sconces...

...only to find a pile of cardboard boxes marked "GOLAN MOVERS."

Even if it was true, there would be minimal if any profit coming out of this thing. Once the luster wore off (a year) it would be a white elephant. Check out the Atlantic City casinos. The Revel cost $2.4B to build. Two years later closed and shuttered in bankruptcy just like numerous other casinos. W(ho)TF wants to come to this cow town for a casino experience?

Everything Rahm SHOULD have done in the last four years, he's suddenly doing, the week before he faces a runoff? I'm sure all these revelations are just a coincidence, and not at all related to fear of losing the election. SURE they are.

It's really no skin off his nose to make this statement. He knows that Chicago will never get a Casino, that ship has sailed. When it was a possibility Rahm said all money would go to the schools. Maybe Chewy should be asking about the financial vehicles used for borrowing versus conventional bonds.
The swaps and different borrowing methods employed by Rahm have cost the taxpayers more than the entire pension deficit for the city of Chicago. Putting millions into his campaign contributors pockets and taking more from the taxpayers pockets. A lawsuit should have been filed but Rahm's people who orchestrated this highly volatile, restrictive and punitive financing are still working for the city and a lawsuit would expose them as either corrupt, dumb or both.

The Feebs aren't looking at how City Hall under Daley Inc. and Rahm & Co. colluded with the big money campaign fund people to criminally mismanage tax payer treasure for the profit a chosen few to the tune of BILLIONS and you have every stray and aimlessly wandering asshole with an ill-formed opinion saying that it's actually ok to steal money from Policemen by not paying them what they're worth, jacking their medical costs and intentionally exploding the bottom out of their pensions?

Where the fuck are the feebs?

Oh wait, they're busy "reviewing" many years of justifiable use of force by The Police against Catered To Constituents while Rahm is scheduled to meet with the bereaved "muthas" of dead muthafuckahs who brandished/intended to discharge/actually discharged firearms at Policemen.

"The Cops shoulda backed-down/de-escalated and left ouwwah young black mens alone..."

Yup...
So much other shit the feebs need to look at but they hit the "Easy" button and target The Police for scrutiny and oversight only because Policemen have rules to abide by.

The fantasy is someone buying out Policemen for a tidy sum so they can go away and let this city justifiably drown in it's own excrement.

No more worries about "brutal cops" and "all da young mens of ouwwa communerty bein' kilt by da poleece for no reason."

Nor will you have to be aggravated with a know-it-all accosting you as you run into a place to take a piss between jobs... "Duhhh... Must be nice to make all dat muny doin' nuttin'..."

If fair were fair, we'd be walking around with a big bag of ignorant motherfucker's teeth... Assholes feels free and easy to step in a Policeman's way and deliver dumb shit because they think our rules of conduct makes it "ok" for them to do that.

Grrrr!

No wonder Flamin' Tutu was pissed at the teachers for striking...

No wonder he lobbied Springfield to increase their vote threshold to call a strike.

He wanted them to shut up and sit down before their noise prompted too close a look at the bad financial dealings going on a CPS via City Hall...

How many more of these bad financial dealings is Rahm trying to keep suppressed?

Why is he so hell-bent on stealing budgeted monies from CPD, CFD and busting them out of their pensions in the name of reform?

How come Policemen and Firemen (and by proxy, decent, law abiding taxpayers) are the ones who have to "learn how to bleed" and get it "stuck in their ear" while Rahm and his big money friends are laughing up their sleeves at everybody who isn't them?

Priorities...

Local media wants the names of Chicago Police Officers who have incurred Complaint Register Numbers going back almost fifty fucking years.

Mmm-Okay?

The Feebs want air and opportunity to re-open previously investigated and adjudged as rightful/lawful CPD shooting incidents because the former Attorney General "feels" that the "victims" rights MIGHT have been violated by virtue of their unlawful/dangerous conduct leading to their asses being shot by The Police in the first place?

Custom order crazy being passed off as the new normal?

Whoever sets the agenda decides what is actually a priority.

Until WE THE PEOPLE take this city, state and nation back, the voices crying in the wilderness/yelling from the roof-tops about Fuckery are really nothing but noise.

Rahm stated Hire 1000 new officers and put them on the street. When called out on his b.s. he then stated put 1000 desk officers on the street. Well media and Chuy even with rahm's change to what he said here's the truth. 1000 desk officers or inside officers are not on the street either. Desk officers are listed on the schedules to look like they are on the streets but in reality they are listed in a phony made up beat car with no car provided so in reality they are still inside working the desk. So the truth is 0 officers were hired and 0 desk officers were reassigned to the streets. So the city is no safer. Actually with deaths and retirements there are less officers working the streets!!

We are all banking on a casino panacea. Gambling is a vice and has lead to many broken families and bankruptcies. Degenerate gamblers quickly run out of money and are not a viable solution. Besides, we need to enlist Native Americans to run the casino under tribal law with its associated privileges as to avoid compliance with state, county and municipal ordinances and regulations.

We hear the drumbeat of the economy is picking up. O.K., where are those tax revenues that follow the touted improved economy? Where are all those shovel ready jobs? Factory building after factory building is being demolished. Record numbers of food stamp recipients. Stagnant wages.

Where is the accountability of the “previous administrations” and their administrators? Where has all the money gone? Open those books, convene special grand juries and put the big name politicians on the hot seat under oath. Ask the tough questions. What other financial shenanigans are going on inside city hall? Only the shadow knows.

The real solution is to cut taxes and regulation to draw businesses back into the city, the state and the country for that matter. After all, we see multitudes of people who will do the jobs Americans just won’t do. And how about all the Chicago City College grads who have the technical, mathematical and engineering skills to compete globally for those new 21st century high tech jobs which those green energy companies seek to employ. And as soon as we get those high speed trains, rest assured the communist Chinese will experience that sucking sound as jobs return to the U.S. As soon as free college educations are a reality, its lights out with an economic karate chop to the Red China economy.

City moves them around and big fees are paided. To who you might ask? Can you say Rauner,Rahm, hedge fund managers. So why are they trying to cut your benefits you might ask. 1.) The current law states that the pension payments must be made from property tax revenue.

2.) There is no casino.

3.) He needs his $6K per bottle wine club buddy, Gov. Warbucks to change the current pension law AND give him a casino.

When they change the law, it will be designed to get him off the hook, and continue the flow of $$$ to the contractors, DePaul, the Outfit, Pritzkers, etc....

Don't build a casino ya damn fool.

Get rid of the damn rules that keep us non-competitive and build some FACTORIES. Places that make shoes, cars, washing machines, clothes and widgets. Any thing with the label MADE IN THE USA on it.

It is getting almost impossible to find any American made products anymore. Part of that is thank to people like the Daley/Vaneko Crime family. Remember NAFTA.

Now the DVCF wants to issue Russian and Chinese crime family associates U.S. Green Cards so they cards so they can directly invest in the U.S. More selling out this country by the Democommunists.

Ok, he has a 500 million deposit due in 2016 - I'll give him to Dec 31st of that year. That's about 650 days away from today. If the casino was built in a day that would give him 649 days. Drum roll please...500 mil / 649 days =$770,416 each day. I have a hard time believing that a casino would produce that much revenue for the city EVERY DAY for the next 21 months or so. Next case. However, 1000 redlight tickets at $770 each
might come close.......

TOO LATE FOR THE CASINO IDEA.

Hey, I said we should have built a casino on Navy Pier about 25 years ago.

At that time, that would have been a game-changer. Chicago would have rolled in the money - not only from people coming in by bus - but the high-rollers coming from all over Lake Michigan to dock their yachts and play blackjack and slots.

But to some, OH GOD NO - that would bring in the Mob (as if they aren't here already)

Now?? You have to be F'ing kidding. How many well-established casinos did they shut down in Atlantic City?

Why? No business. How many people do you know still go out to the casino every weekend?

Money AIN'T there anymore. Plus, you have casinos in Indiana and Wisconsin already. They have drawn the crowd.

Our lame approach to gambling in this state - riverboats on water that initially had to "leave the pier" all the time - cannot be fixed now.

Too late for the "great revenue generator" idea. A Casino isn't a "fix-all" for decades of municipal mismanagement.

Next case. Next idea.

As has been said before, the casino bubble has burst. Vegas, Atlantic City, etc are all shriveling and dieing.

People don't have the disposable income to throw away on losing games of chance. Plus they can bet on sports like football, hockey and basketball. Why is "March Madness" such a big deal?? The gaming on the games.

Illinois casinos are suffering. Partially due to the no smoking but also due to competition from the video poker machins. Why drive to a casino when all you have to do is walk down to your local bar or resturaunt to lose your paycheck and stagger home? And casinos siphoned money off of other entertainment ventures, like shows and resturaunts, so no new money was created.

Best bet is land based casino with 4,000 gaming positions would have annual Adjusted Gross Revenue of about $600 million. Rivers in Des Plaines is presently pulling in about 420 million a year with only 1,200 gaming positions. Not sure how that would be taxed and how much would go to the State. Present casinos pay about 50%. About 125 million (best guess) would come from Rivers and some other large number would come from Harrah's Horseshoe in Indiana. Most of the rest would be from local people with only a small portion coming from tourists. While it could go over 600 million, I would bet that it won't be under 500 million. Even after paying the bills and taxes, that is a lot of cash.

Look at the commander of crime lab , he works everyday for years ,a example of a good police officer with a work ethic.

Let's keep that situation you described real, sir. The only reason Murphy was brought back as the Director of forensics was that he was a friend of Phil's, period. The man was already retired, with a pension as a Lt. when his unfortunate accident occurred.
Murphy has a lot of assistance in overseeing his unit, and that's all needs to be said on that front. Nice of Phil to take care of his friends, and no one who's come in after Phil would want to be seen as the person who sent Murphy packing. Public perception goes an awful long way on those kinds of things.

Casinos are supposed to draw in -- what money? No more production, no good-paying jobs for the former middle class, no creation of wealth.

RahmRaunerLLC will "balance the load on the backs of the poor," as one lady said. With the proposed cutbacks in food, medical care, and transit -- instead of in subsidies for Presidential libraries, basketball venues, and luxury hotels -- this is going to be a real disaster.

But, then, old people don't riot much...f__k 'em. As Ezekiel Emanuel says, "they have had a complete life." Besides, you've already taken their house, auctioned off their possessions, and cleaned out their savings -- sometimes by force.

People thought the lottery money was going to be in addition to tax money, oh boy, the education system ought to get good with all that cash to swim around in.

It was billclintonspeak presto change-o now you see it now you don't bullshit.

The lottery money did go to education; and tax money was removed and spent on bullshit. The more lottery money that went to "education" the more tax money they could divert to give fat asphalt contracts to Bill Cellini.

It was just a shell game. The extra didn't go to education, it went to contracts, slush funds, clout pensions and the rest.

Lying deceitful bastards. The only halfway honest Illinois governor was Richard Ogilvie. He said Illinois needed an income tax. The Illinois Combine pilloried him and he was voted out after one term. The income tax was never repealed however.
