Cancel the Northside Events
Remember when the Southside parade was the bad one? They canceled it for a few years to stop the stupid. Looks like that might be needed up north:
- There was no luck of the Irish for 17 people arrested after they collectively turned a St. Patrick’s Day drinking tour into a brawl crawl on Saturday. According to the Crime in Wrigleyville and Boystown blog, citations went beyond minor blemishes like public intoxication to more serious offenses such as battering a police officer, aggravated assault with a knife, mob action and battery. One person also reported being mugged near Halsted and Roscoe.
“The district's officers were all kept overtime and even the top-ranking cops spent 12+ hours responding to calls,” said CWB Chicago. In total, the report says that “more than 40 ambulance requests resulted in at least 20 persons being transported to area hospitals.” The story also lists a pretty entertaining play-by-play of police activity from 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning through 3:30 Sunday morning.
The have a listing of calls gleaned from scanner traffic. Some are entertaining, but too many are just drunk assholes screwing it up for everyone else.

This doesn't happen during the three day Von Steuben Fest. It doesn't happen at the Milwaukee German Fest. Both are family fests. The Germans wouldn't allow it. And if it did happen we know how to handle it. And this time it'll be no more "mister nice guys" from the Germans.
Since Rahm eliminated over 1,200 positions from the CPD budget we're fully staffed and able to handle anything and everything right? It must be true because Napolean and McNumbnuts have repeatedly stated that mantra.
The first Northside "St. Paddy's Day" Zoo which needs to have their liquor license taken away is Sluggers. What a mess that place is!!! First, the Father ran of the place had a freakshow, complete with underaged drinkers, and now his three sons are running the place the same way. How's this allowed to go on? Have you ever checked out their failed food inspections on the city of Chicago website. DISGUSTING!!
Don't let the sins of a few stop the fun and frivolity of the many.

Too bad that part of the old 019th dist. was a relatively quiet area in the 70-80's we knew "YUP's" would ruin it all.
I guess they should cancel the bud biliken fiasco? How many parades have a loss baby center for free babysitting. Or all the drinking there that we are told not to make an arrest? Politicians pandering to the entitled ones!
019 officers might want to bid to 007 to take a break from all the action. I hope this activity did not cut into their Starbucks time.
Don't get this srhnken booze soaked brawl confused with the Northwest Side Irish Parade which went off without a hitch. Thousands of families and little kids lined the streets to see the floats, and when it was over they went home.
What happened in Wrigleyville was a spill over from the downtown parade, NOT the Northside Parade.
Worse than Bud Biliken?
CPD must enjoy getting to handle real, out of control White punks and White criminals for one day - like it used to be in Chicago everyday.

You hit the nail on the head with this disgusting place! Bartenders over serve underage patrons, bouncers try to get hands on and provoke problems, little entitled trust fund owners do nothing except make political contributions and play with the ladies (employees and patrons), and PO's eat and drink free there off duty. What can possibly go wrong with this combination? I heard the establishment lived up to their name SLUGGERS on Saturday.
I remember drinking binges at that age but the Police were never involved cause everyone was to scared of what they'd do if they had to show up.
Now we stand around with out thumbs up our asses afraid to verbally assault a 21 yo douche bag because we'd get suspended and the city would pay them off to get rid of the law suite. Meanwhile Mommy and Daddy would hug their little cum spawn and blame the Police for everything.
I worked both those Districts. Maybe they have a legitimate reason to be useless.
I mean all that matters is the $$ that fills the coffers of the Alder creatures from these Taverns and night clubs. Why risk getting hurt, or even worse, inflicting injury on one of these drunken, foul mouthed little assholes stumbling out of them?
Don't loose sight of the big picture in the 019 shit show. The beating and robbing of residents is the real issue, not frat boys puking in green shirts.
These are the assholes that ruined the Southside parade.
All cops worked overtime? Bosses staying late to handle incidents? Many arrested? Police district stretched to the limits? For a St Patrick's Day thing held on a TUESDAY?
What would this police department do in an emergency? Call Evanston?

I worked in 019 and used to work the old TARA on Saturday nights. I caught 004 and 007 regularly.
Early roll call in 007 was around 20 PO's, more than 20 on late roll call and rapids etc. I worked the wagon. The wagon had more radio assignments than 019 third watch beat car gets on a real busy weekend. The wagon, including case reports, an arrest, transports etc. It never slowed down. They stack the jobs for the wagon!
In 004 again I worked the wagon. Saturday night. 28 jobs, again, everything a beat car got, the wagon gets there. Including a 10-1 that sounded like Mel Gibson calling "Broken Arrow."
I went back to 019 and told them all to shut up and kneel down and kiss the ground.
Hm. You can't cancel stupidity. I don't know how much of this was a formal "bar crawl" and how much of this was a bunch of people waking up on the Saturday morning before St. Pat's Day saying, "Let's go down to Wrigleyville and get stupid wasted drunk."
How do you cancel that?
Short of making the district dry... but that will never happen.

Bud Biliken parade was a complete mess back in the eighties and I had similar disgust issues with up to 150 "lost" kids at the tent. Abandoned was really what that baby sitting area was all about.
But then again, I do recall patrolling the park crowd and enjoying bar-b-que and the occasional beer or two also.
I also remember the 8:00 am call that ended up with me runing down three flights of rickety back porch stairs while trying to breathe life back into a six month old baby. Unfortunately there is not a good ending to that event.
That put a damper on the day's
festivities.
To you non cops out there, the lives cops save during a career are truly rewarding personally but the daily losses of bits of your soul to tragedy, unfortunately, balance the scales.
Dead babies make up for the protocol breach of enjoying an illicit beer or hunk of ribs once a year.
At least, that was my theory.
Stay safe.
Cancel it until the taxpayers money for all the extra services is repaid to them, and a complete ban on alcohol is rigorously enforced.
Start charging entrance fees to all fests! This would help at least pay for the police, lets get the court system to actually do their jobs, the judges are paid extremely well to throw out so many cases! You could at least fine these drunken scumbags, money out of the wallet that's real pain! The Supervision in 019 has been SHIT since the merge. After all this BS there's The Pride Parade lurking just around the corner. That'll B more mandatory OT cuz there's not a white shirt in that hairy asshole of a place worth their salt.
How about this for an idea? Go after the people that break the law, R hammered drunk, and all the robbers that call 019 their place of business. Stop fucking w/the Coppers! There's so many people in the District that literally don't have to work. Get them off their movie nites for all four days. Stop hanging up the phones when Citizens call the desk cuz U'r movie X is interrupted. The witch that runs Mids is a creep & makes that place a living hell for Coppers that want to do more but get fucked by "Bald Beth" the person who runs Mids. The bald Lt is BZ W/Mon who makes out her day the nite B4. This one female, Monique, works the command at the detail one nite and movie nite the next. U bet U'r left nut she doesn't do ANY OT.

We were told not to make arrest at the South side Irish parade also! "Most of them are coppers family members" until the city quits crying broke they kill all parades that are not 100% privately financed.
I used to "participate" in the so-called Northwest Side St. Patrick's Day Parade (bar crawl) down Milwaukee Avenue back in the early 2000s. Good crowd, good time- from what I remember. I don't know if it's still being held (I understand there's now an official event in Edison Park/Norwood Park), but the hundreds of "marchers" didn't seem too obnoxious considering the true purpose of the event, and I don't recall ever witnessing any major incidents involving CPD. Sorry to hear about the extensive moron factor with that Northside "celebration." No doubt they'll be blaming their actions on the green beer...

How are they getting away with the nonsense at SLUGGERS? They have a retired, degenerative gambler CPD PO named George C. running interference for them. He loses big at the track, barrels into his BMW all boozed up, drives to SLUGGERS, and dreams up schemes to get money out of the three trust fund babies and the father.
Just like Pulaski day when the Poles take to the street and cause havoc on Milw. ave, LOL. Those Irish do the darnest things, especially the ones from North Shore.

Read the CWB report. good for a few laughs. time restricted for the entire city. Tac teams in districts no calls for assistance ormobilization. The teams that handled NATO could've restored order and made as many arrests as needed. The city knows what happens every year at certain events, yet refuses to confront the problem head on. How about this: mass arrest, send prisoners to 2 or 5 for detention, cite and close bars Problem solved. Dust off plan for next year and repeat as needed!

Constitution Day along Belmont w. of Central is always fun. Mostly teenie girls screaming and waving Polish flags at passing cars which also have Polish flags, and the occasional sidewalk inspector, purple-faced and gone to the world. That Spiritus stuff is NOT mere vodka. It's about 160 proof. It'd start your car in the winter. Should have a red "FLAMMABLE" label on the bottle.

George drove his car up on the curb one day in front of Hero's and hit the building. He also plowed into a couple of Lane students and one girl got a broken leg. She was pinned on the sidewalk by Good Time George. Whoever got the job accepted George's excuse that he passed out due to a medical condition and did not DUI him.
That was in 2012. CPD is still taking care of the maggot drunks. George will kill someone one day and people will scream why didn't anyone stop him. No one in 019 has the backbone to slap the cuffs on him.

Two Lane Tech Students Hit in Car Accident

The Chicago Sun-Times reported a vehicle struck two female students as they walked from Lane Tech High School and headed to a nearby sandwich store to eat lunch off-campus. The 15 and 16-year-old were crossing the street at Addison and Western when George Corso, 61, hit the teens, then crashed into the corner of the building where Hero’s sandwich shop was located.
Both teenage victims were injured and immediately hospitalized. One girl was treated for minor injuries while the other teen was left with a broken ankle. Sharon Vitale, whose family owns Hero’s, said the building had likely stopped Corso’s vehicle from colliding into more people.
"I don't want to think about what would have happened to all those kids out there," Vitale said as numerous bystanders crowded around the scene of the accident.
Police officials said George Corso was also treated at a hospital and later released. They cited Corso with negligent driving, though it remains unclear whether the parents of the Lane Tech students have considered filing a personal injury claim to recover damages for victims' injuries.

The shit that happens when they combine two districts, sell the residents on "more manpower than before" then effect a back-door Police lay-off. (what Rahm wanted in the first place)
Once upon a time, 019 and 023 were separate districts with a manpower compliment of @ 350 officers each and shit was nowhere near as out of hand as it is now.
Now as a combined district, manpower is under 300?
Lots of hidey-hole, made up beats that spend an entire tour of duty running silent and running deep. Yeah, Clark St. gets stupid but what about that 10 Sector?

The first thing you need to learn like the men and women of 019 is the proper Starbucks vernacular to order a coffee concoction.
The proper way to order the above Starbucks drink is: grande nonfat caramel macchiato with a swizzle of whip and caramel streusel.
This is what happens when Officers from 019 District, who retired, got a promotion or just said fuck it and transferred out of the district, while saying who needs this shit, I'm outta here!
Then the city is NOT bringing anyone in, keeping the Police manpower around 300 Officers for an area that used to have over 450 Officers, when the district was separate, just three years ago! Thanks Rahm!
019 District is NOT a good place to be in anymore after the merger, PERIOD!
But all the Bossholes from the 5th floors of City Hall and HQ., would never admit to a mistake just to save a few bucks and high five each other at the promotion parties for each other!

Are they sure the worst crime wasn't caused by "south-siders" instead of the traditional parade participants? If so, wouldn't it make more sense to ban the south-siders rather than the parade itself? Also, keep in mind that when there is no parade, the south-siders commit the same crimes - but that is perfectly OK, isn't it? The powers that be don't even bat a proverbial eye.
They should have NEVER merged 23rd and 19th districts. Terrible management move, taxpayers should be outraged, aldermen should have never allowed it.
