Another Crash

Officers in "good" condition, but the injuries we've seen described as "good" aren't always that:
  • Officers are in good condition after a three-car crash involving an unmarked police vehicle in the Bronzeville neighborhood Monday night, police said.

At about 8 p.m. near the intersection of 41st Street and South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, a vehicle struck an unmarked police vehicle, which then crashed into another car, according to News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

Three officers were taken to area hospitals in good condition, and one woman was taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, where her condition stabilized, Alfaro said.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Last "non-life-threatening" had his skull jammed down into his rib cage or something.

Stop. Step back. Think. Can anyone remember when this "random/not random" and "life-threatening/non-life-threatening" crap started? Not more than a couple of years old. Had to come from a single originating point, some bug has now put this into our everyday lexicon. I resent that.

Get your freakin foot blown off or something and it's "non-life-threatening" in that you may be able to drag yourself along on two canes for the next 50 years until Ezekiel Emanuel decides it's time for you to go.

What is this s__t?

...but the Mayor's kid gets rapped one and oh, boy...

Is "Non life Threatening" the say as "Life Altering"? Perhaps it would be better to use the term "Life Altering Injury". I retired in 2010, I stayed till the very last day. However, in 2008 my squad was T-Boned by an uninsured Gift to our beloved Sanctuary City.He was in too much of a hurry to obey the red light. I sustained a Non Life Threatening back injury that I feel every morning as I struggle to get out of bed. I Cannot exercise as much because of pain, No Disability claims, just parts of my back fractured. I now live with terrible pain, for the rest of my life. My life has been altered, but Non Life Threatened. Watch yourselves, few appreciate what you do. "G"

Two of the officers were treated and released, they will be fine. The third officer has a concussion. The little angel who was driving a hot car actually hit three vehicles. This was his second arrest this month for PSMV. We all know nothing will happen to him. He has a sheet and a half all juvenile.

Anybody remember those bubble Chevys with the low rear quarter panels in the late '80s early '90s? Great engine and faster than a bastard, but the siren was no louder than a car alarm. All sorts of accidents back then.
