CR Lists Again?
Once again, we open the Department e-mail and once again, the Department is releasing lists of CR numbers:
- Please be advised that on 23 Jul 2015, the Chicago Police Department (CPD) will release a list containing information related to complaints lodged against active sworn department members for the last four years.
- Please be advised that on 24 Jul 2015, the Chicago Police Department (CPD) will release a list containing information related to complaints lodged against active sworn department members for the month of January 2013.
Fishing expeditions. Why not just give the bottom feeders their own key date and they can go downtown and rifle through the files as needed?

It doesn't take an idiot to figure out that if the majority of the shootings are taking place in the black and Hispanic areas of the city then the contacts by the police are going to involve more blacks and Hispanic..... Who cares. We should all have learned a long time ago its a witch hunt on police. Now more than ever. They want us to sit on our hands.
Documentaries are made about almost anything. Why doesn't the city and the police department make their own documentary to show how often false claims are made about police officers. Show the process, interview police officers, complainants, and explain how these claims are investigated. Explain that anyone can make a accusation and even the false accusations go onto a police officer's record. They are listing officers only on the number of complaints and the list should only be about accusations that are proven to be true. And of course the working street cop is always going to get complaints, right or wrong.

That's the problem right there. Just because officers are on this list doesn't mean they're bad apples and doesn't mean they did anything wrong. Citizens complain about any little thing and lie and an officer gets a complaint. You made an arrest and handcuffed someone and they felt the handcuffs hurt, they complain, it's brutality. Dispatch holds a job for two hours, police show up and citizen isn't happy and complains, it goes against the officer. Citizens that don't like police make up stuff all the time. So just because an officer is on this list, really doesn't mean the officer is bad.
