A year after Ferguson and the community continues to make a hero out of a common criminal:
- On the first anniversary of Michael Brown’s death in Ferguson, Mo., a church service this morning on the South Side paid tribute to him.
Father Michael Pfleger says it’s not enough to just remember Brown, but force the country to address the issue of what he calls the genocide of black youth.
The outspoken pastor says that comes at the hands of police who racially profile; vigilantes who are “trigger happy,” as well as black-on-black crime.
Well, one out of three is a Hall of Fame type batting average we suppose.
- In almost every case over the past year we've seen, the cops don't racially profile - they profile criminal behavior. Perhaps someone ought to look into why certain segments of society believe themselves to be exempt from the laws governing everyone else. Or better yet, give police a list of crimes that certain people (and folks) are excluded from having to follow.
- We can count the vigilante-type killings on one hand. And we'll bet $50 that the ones Phleger counts are the mentally ill who shouldn't be in possession of guns anyway.
- Black-on-black crime is the real issue, but Phleger lists it third.
Way to go phather, you dumb phuck.

"St. Louis County police said that one of their officers was shot at and returned fire late Sunday after a day of demonstrations in Ferguson marking the anniversary of the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown.
"Shots rang out at approximately 11:15 p.m. local time as several hundred people gathered on West Florissant Street. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that at least 15 shots were heard as protesters, police officers, and media members ran for cover.
"Minutes after the shots were heard, an Associated Press photographer saw a man lying face down, covered in blood, behind a boarded-up restaurant. It wasn't immediately clear how badly the man was injured.
"Later, an AP reporter saw a woman overcome with grief. Friends were consoling her. She screamed: "Why did they do it?" Another woman nearby fainted.
"A man nearby said, "They killed my brother."

Just playing to the crowd and to the ignorance of people who refuse to take responsibility and who refuse to put the blame where it belongs. It seems it is painful for many blacks to accept the fact that there are many things wrong with the black community and it is their fault, not the white mans and not society . The one leading black comedy star used to put the blame where it belongs, but alas, his credibility is not gone.
Nobody in politics wants to address the real issue. NOBODY! It's easier to say it's the fault of the police and they will receive additional training, re-training, in-car cameras, body cameras, GPS, new rules on street stops, etc. And if that isn't enough, we'll just fire of indict the expendable officer, but in no way, shape or form is there a problem across the country with the black culture in the inner city.

On a side note: It's pretty odd that the natives in Ferguson are still unhappy. Local Politicians resigned, Cops were fired or forced to resign, and the DOJ stepped in and pretty much investigated every white person in that town they could find. The 'Word On The Street' is that Obama even promised to give them all a pony that poops $100 Dollar Bills.
Yet they're still unhappy and one year later they're causing a shit storm of violence.

"FERGUSON • Two teenage males, ages 17 and 19, were wounded in a shooting early Monday as they walked near the Canfield Apartments in Ferguson.
"The two were being treated at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries, police say. Their names have not been released.

Believe state law there says right-to-privacy disappears after death -- that juv. records of a teen WHITE offender were easily obtained in short order -- but a whole bunch of reporters, etc. have filed suit to get Brown's jacket and nothing yet, a whole year later.

Why not bring up his best friend that he claims is his brother and he loves him so much Farrakhan who is urging the killing of whites. The church is aware of everything but he is a politician so he can break the law and be protected. I no longer attend church because I am so disillusioned as to the platform of me me me that pastors present. Father Pfleger, should get a large group of volunteers together and help the family in Indiana that's looking for the missing 21 year old with the mind of a 7 yr old and the toddler she took with her. That family is getting lots of media but not large group of volunteers.
i will never forget how that lying fraud Brian Williams of NBC nightly news ended his broadcast (which was covering ferguson that night) with a picture of this criminal in a graduation cap and gown, trying to portray his thug a$$ as an innocent victim and good boy! They dropped their lawsuit alleging that you all stop and frisk blacks at a higher rate than you do whites because you're all racists. I guess the fact that those stop and frisks in the 'hood uncovered illegal drugs, weapons and Aunt Bessie's stolen purse might actually justify the disproportionate ratio.

Actually, you are right and you are wrong. Yes, the stops have produced evidence of crimes committed, but the percentage of positive results of the stops is pretty low. The ACLU dropped the lawsuit only because of the compromise between the mayor and the police department. As I recall reading the Terry Stops that were documented in Chicago resulted in about a 5% hit.
The other reason is Catholic Charities. Rogue NGO with no oversight and no responsibility for its actions.

You are so full of it! I do volunteer work for Catholic Charities and they do great work in the Chicago area. Don't blame them for the actions of some activist priest. I am certainly not a liberal by any means, but I see what CC does and it is truly impressive, more then any other charitable organization in the metro area. Something tells me that you actually know nothing about this organization. They feed the poor and elderly,find shelter for the homeless and destitute and get medical care and mental health care for those who cannot afford it.They depend on volunteers. You are talking through your ass.
