So....the Law Failed?

  • A 45-year-old man who shot his girlfriend to death before killing himself last week at a Loop business possessed a valid Illinois concealed carry permit, but the semiautomatic handgun he used was not legally registered, police said Monday.

Richard Idrovo had an “domestic violence history” with his girlfriend, Alma B. Hernandez, in southwest suburban Tinley Park where they lived.....
Once again, where would he register the gun?

And shouldn't "domestic violence history" preclude him from owning a gun? Carrying a gun? Qualifying for a CCL? Here's where the democrats start screaming that "Another law would have saved this poor innocent!" and every sane person says, "Um, he didn't follow the rules/laws in place already - why would he follow another?"

Domestic violence would certainty prohibit him from a CCL. As to registration, that is a puzzler.

Now is she had a CCL...

...and as soon as she saw him, with that look in his eyes, and reaching for his weapon...

...it might have been a different story. So teach your daughters to shoot.

Gun registration is, of course, a leftist dog-whistle.

Despite there being no registration law, the reporter clearly employs the term to influence low-information people into belief in the left's goal of making all citizens entirely dependent upon the left's police agencies for physical security.

This is why print media are dying. Their managers are too stupid to realize that low-information people are often barely literate. The Sun-Times would get much more mileage from their subtle propaganda if they dumped the newspaper and simply inserted subliminal images on BET network, MTV and shows like Survivor and The Bachelorette.

Register a firearm? I thought civilians don't have to register their weapons. But they still require police officers (Chicago) to register all their firearms per general orders.

Alert!

Thaddeus Jimenez, freed from his wrongful conviction for murder in 1993 and winner of $25 million lawsuit against CPD, was arrested in 017 yesterday.

Mr. Jimenez is a prime suspect in a shooting that occurred earlier in the day.

Mr. Jimenez does not, we repeat, does not have a Concealed Carry Permit.

This "registration" has become a meme, a thought-virus.

Ka-ching! The Great Lever is pulled, the machine disgorges a little numbered slip of paper. There! Now all is right and proper.

Once heard someone prattling "That has to be registered" at the sight of an unassembled black-powder musket kit (missing parts, yet) in a state that had no firearms "registration" laws. Inform them of that, they refuse to hear you, and merely repeat the assertion.

People like this are allowed to vote...

"The weapon was not registered!" Seems like an anti-gun Supt.'s mantra & the press parrots it.

Remember the media outcry against police dept's use of hollow point ammo?? Although most agencies took the time & effort to explain how the ammo would reduce a citizen's likelihood to be struck after the traditional round nose bullet penetrated/exited the original target [offender].

The media kept stating that LE was trying to use "dum-dum" ammo banned for military use by the Geneva Convention. Hollow points are not "dum-dum' ammo - but the media quietly dropped the issue and would not retract their story. Damage done - public misinformed.

Hey Garry - looks like you're the only "dum-dum" here. We keep trying to tell you that there is no registration. Please contact your General Counsel gold star to verify this basic fact.

Hey media - please verify your "facts" that Mc Streetlight carelessly "discharges" during his "press conferences."

Hey Dean - wake up. Some of your members think that a vote of no confidence in our Superintendent's ability is in order.

Q. --

With all of the suffering inflicted upon law-abiding Chicagoans, running around town trying to get registration forms and finding a place for photos to be taken and getting money orders and having things notarized -- every year, and get sick and miss by one day and you lose the guns -- can anyone tell us, finally, how many decent citizens ACTUALLY registered their guns in this city?

I once heard a figure of "6,500." Close? Cigar? What.

I think it is everyone's right to hear about how effective this law actually was, how many crimes were solved, etc. It's about time. The Rahms like this "down the memory hole" business but I don't.

Lots of implications behind that bit of Fuckery.
Abrogation of rights as a condition of employment
is just the camel with his nose under the back of the burqa...

>Flip! - NUDGE! - "EEK!"<

Prejudicial Observations
From The Catbird Seat:

The mayor, city council, the media and the North Shore money-ists have a great
bowel-moving fear of Policemen becoming agents of desperately
needed forcible change in this God-forsaken, corrupted beyond
redemption town.

Let's cut the bullshit and drop all pretense...

Daley Inc., Rahm & Co., local media and the money-ists DO NOT want to
see "THEIR" trained, armed - hardened by trumped-up
hatred and slander, "mere" Chicago public servants who adhere
to a sworn oath, rules of conduct and onerous (by design)
conditions of employment CPD "security apparatus"
opting for "rebellion" and standing with the common man.

They desire for us to protect THEM when they finally decide to go
all in and wipe their asses with the social contracts that serve
as the adhesive that keeps society from completely turning
feral or at lease becoming "Free Range" and every man or
co-operative of men becoming sovereign judges, juries and
in some cases, executioners.

The notion of all y'all nice, play-by-the-rules tax paying suckers
becoming fed up with being bent at the waist to feed the Catered To
Constituent class and the Corporate Financed Government
& Elected Official class and rendering your own judgements,
making things right, settling accounts etc., is causing much
midnight oil to be burned in the Progressive camp.

The overnight sniper fire should have their sentries
good and jumpy come morning.

Why do you all think so much capital has been expended
maligning, slandering and vilifying The Police?

It's a concerted push to separate US from the public goodwill.

Yes? No? Absolute Bullshit? Likely flight of fancy and
urban folklore in spite of what y'all lyin' eyes are seeing?

"Huh? Whohadsaidsump'n?"

Yeah... Rules and laws only for the wild, out-of-control,
potentially "rebellious" Police in this town.

"They're the enemy and bear close watching."

More so than the roving death cultists that
Rahm and his hand picked cabal of
Law Enforcement Gypsies have no answer to?

Except for continuing to make a big public and media
spectacle of noisily flogging the skeletal remains of
Chicago Policing to convince the simple-minded that
they're so fucking smart and have all the answers.

Viva Hate.
Right?

Let the last 20 years be your guide
as you Police like you have no friends.

OT: I know this is dated but I haven't had time to post-- a week ago Sunday I called 911 to report an El train wheel fire on the brown line in my neighborhood -- Leland and Hamilton, the train loaded with passengers was stopped up on the tracks with the front car's wheel/brake burning. The motorman was leaning out the window trying to put it out with a fire extinguisher. So I call 911 and the 911 operator answers in 1.5 rings. I said I want to report an El train on fire and she transfers me to the fire department. Then it took 17 rings before the fire call taker answers the call. SEVENTEEN FUCKING RINGS!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? AND THEN I HAD TO REPEAT/SPOONFEED THE INCIDENT LOCATION TO HER FOUR TIMES CUZ SHE DIDN'T KNOW HER ASS FROM A HOLE IN THE WALL. The responding fire companies arrived quickly -- within four/five minutes -- and fortunately it turned out to be a minor incident -- and thank god...So maybe someone can look into this????????Peace.

Domestic violence could mean just a bunch of arguments with wife. Lots of reports. No arrests. No charges=no convictions. Or charges could have been dropped too. Who knows. No reason to revoke anyones FOID or C C W if no proof. After all it's in COOK County.

Just because you're arrested for a domestic doesn't mean you instant lose your FOID status or your CCW status. You need a conviction and we know how hard those are in cook county.

This is all one gigantic myth. In fact --

US Army is Considering Hollow-Point Bullets to Go with New Pistol

Jul 10, 2015

"The U.S. Army's plan to replace the M9 9mm pistol could result in the large-scale adoption of hollow-point pistol ammunition -- a move the U.S. military has refused to even consider for more than 100 years.

"The Pentagon's devotion to full-metal jacket, or ball ammunition, is the result of a 116-year-old guideline in the 1899 Hague Convention that prohibits combat units from using bullets that "expand or flatten easily" inside the human body.

"The declaration was ratified by all major powers, EXCEPT THE UNITED STATES..." and in any case never applied to civilian or police use.

You got plenty of laws on the books but no agencies communicate with each other . Hence a batshit crazy muthafucker can get by the system and get a legal fire arm and the reek terror on the unsuspecting law abiding folks. However the solutions are new laws that do nothing but fuck over the law abiding Citizens who give a shit and don't bad paper or a conviction............... And there it is
