- Chicago police late Sunday found a child's head near where other body parts were discovered in Garfield Park Lagoon the previous afternoon.
Police recovered the toddler's head at the lagoon near where they had been searching after a foot and hands were found Saturday, authorities said. No other information was available.
Hopefully, someone comes forward with info on a missing toddler.

Now couple that with the fact that he's chosen to remain completely silent through multiple slayings of white law enforcement officers by black offenders. Not a fucking peep condemning these actions, but he made sure to repeatedly acknowledge thugs that met their long overdue demise at the hands of the police.

I like how it's a death investigation. Yeah technically it is right now but you have to think of it as a murder. It isn't suicide. It's isn't natural causes. The body did not fly apart, nor did wild animals attack. Or maybe one did.....my prayers for the child who suffered this horrible death.
No one will be coming forward, there is a welfare payment at stake.

Someone please ask the officers out there in the Garfield Park lagoon if they are ok emotionally. I know we are big tough police officers who don't have and can't show emotion, but the reality is I can't imagine the trauma of finding a small child's body parts, including a head on any person.
A baby is chopped up and the parent doesn't know his child has been missing?

As I say -- they operate in a separate universe that is directly parallel to ours, takes up the same street space, etc., but it's a different world that most people can't begin to grasp.
Given today's advanced technology, it is that they have not yet done brain scans of widely disparate personality types -- or are they merely suppressing what I suspect they will find for fear of the instant shriek of "racism?" I have seen scans of "psychopath" vs. "normal" already, and there is a BIG difference, visible even to the layman.
This business of dealing with humanoid-appearing figures with a head, two arms, two legs fools a lot of people. What's going on up there in the brain cavity bears NO RESEMBLANCE to how yours works. Don't need MRI pix to correlate to what is seen on the street every day and night.

It's always been a give in that the police have a particularly soft spot for the elderly, animals [you know, pet like animals] and children. Prorect those who cannot protect themselves. G-d but this job can leave one with truly hideous memories! Retired but the memories live on, good and bad.
There is a beautiful book entitled "Inspired by Nature" which provides a lavishly illustrated history of Garfield Park. The original name of the park was "Central Park," which also lent its name to the side street, but the park was renamed for the assassinated President James A. Garfield.
Needless to say, the park was the landscaped by Jens Jensen and the West Park District was formerly dominated by Republican appointees (chosen by the Illinois governor). At its peak, the West Park Commission was headquartered at Garfield (the gold domed field house was the office) and the grounds included a nine hole golf course. The nearby elevated train was built to accommodate horse racing fans who used to flock to the track located nearby. The area was once affluent, but it has been in a state of decline since the late 1940s.

It sounds kinda confusing. Was it a body held down by a weight and decomposing with the parts breaking off and floating away, or a cut up body in a bag held down with a weight that broke open and parts came out? Either way it's a homicide.

Suggestion -- once the main search is done, bring in a rental crane with a long enough boom that they can block the thing up away from the soft, muddy shoreline. Hook on one of those big electromagnets -- the type used at scrap yards, or to clear metal debris from construction sites -- and have a go at that bunjara in there. CFD can give it a squirt once in a while to wash the muck off, see what can be seen -- which I bet will be a whole s__tload of pistols and knives and cleavers, peeled safes, and all kinds of other fun stuff glommed to the magnet. Might as well, huh?

Hate to say, but you are right. Handled death by abuse cases, infants, toddlers, older disabled kids. The offender cries, carries on, insists it was an accident, feigns remorse etc., and gets single digit years while the child probably suffered much, much more in his or her short life. Not enough offender punishment by my and most standards. But children seem to be throw away to some, and the courts do not help with short sentences. We definitely need stronger punishment for those who prey on the most vulnerable and innocent.
