Crime Still Down
- Six people have been wounded in shootings citywide since Friday morning, including a city worker who was seriously hurt at a work site in the Gresham neighborhood.
[...]
Earlier, a 28-year-old worker for the Water Management Department was wounded on the left side of his face around 8 a.m. in the 1400 block of West 85th Street, police said.
He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was in critical condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
He was on a work site when someone fired from an alley and fled in a silver car, police said.
Nothing to see here...move along.

Fuck off if u really think so
It wasn't long ago that a lot of streets and san guys used to carry.
Hoping the city worker has a complete recovery.
"..'can get killed walkin your doggie"
Should have seen the guy shot in the head on North av. walking out of a barber shop. Blood squirting out. Can't understand the need for all these clip joints in areas where nobody works.
City worker was probably trying to buy dope.
Heard from a water department employee he wasn't exactly a fine upstanding citizen.
It probably was no accident.
Does every ambulance in the State go to Christ Hospital , WTF? What a fucked up State to not even have enough Trauma Care Centers. Especially Chi-raq, who should have the most. Democrat Politicians, once again asleep at the wheel, except when it comes to stealing and wasting Taxpayer Dollars.
Whose water did he shut off? Start looking there.
I bet he votes democrat.
Crime is down and O'bongo is in town.
The unabated grand marshal of the BLM will be speaking at the IAPC, promoting his agenda of the release of thousands of drug dealers upon the already crowded field. He will also admonish the evil CPD and insist that guns are bad for folks, but tolerance should be excercised when coming in contact with those folks.
Take this from one of the judges who had a part in the release of NYPD cop killer Tyrone Peanut Howard:
– "I don't get a crystal ball when I get the robe," said state Supreme Court Justice Edward McLaughlin. He defended his decision as "accurate and appropriate," saying that doing time hadn't helped Howard before. "
Yes, crime is down as well as the jail population.
But how can releasing drug dealers back into the streets be a good thing?
You don't need a crystal ball to see what this executive order will wreak.

It's called "money laundering"!
Does anyone have any info on the murder on 5100 Austin ? Hitting way to close to home.
"City worker" tag don't necessarily mean clean bill of health in the area...
A. Dangerous idiot shooting at someone else across the way.
B. Dangerous idiot shooting at him about a "personal problem."
Either way, take off once it seems you have hit someone.
We'll see...

...but they have the bucks to go in and "get their s__t lined up" twice a week. Big social center at bottom level, like all the "nail spas" and "all-night beauty shops." Beyond that, other business going on as well...
There was an explosion of Hispanic-oriented "wedding dress" and "prom gown" places in older storefronts a while back, remember? White, pink, blue, green fluffy stuff from Malaysian sweatshops or somewhere, filling the front window.
Either the whole city was getting married and graduating at once, or...
A lot of these seem to have disappeared now.
Another new phenomenon -- these seasonal, three-month-lease quickies fast-renting larger empty stores, "Halloween Town" and "Christmas City."
Mmm...

Because everything has been twisted around to define them as "non-violent offenders" -- no matter how much s__t they cause around them.
Dealers often get breaks like "programs," record sealing, expungement, etc. that are not available to others.

Oh some still do pal. Shit I know you wouldn't catch me poking around some of these areas without at least a little pea shooter in my pocket. Fuck that!
