North Carolina had to actually pass a law telling their liberal bastions that "sanctuary" policies that ran counter to State and Federal law were...get this...illegal. And San Francisco just voted out their sanctuary sheriff who decided he didn't have to notify the feds about an ICE "hold" and released a multiple-times-deported illegal who murdered a woman walking with her father.
The City Council has time for this crap, but nothing about maybe looking into where billions in pension payments went, nor hiring a new Inspector General to keep their baser instincts in line? Or why Rahm's cameras have managed to issue millions in bad tickets:

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and guess that Skokie hasn't expressed an interest in harboring Syrian refugees.
It is understandable that democrat politicians would be sympathetic towards potential islamic jihadist, and would want to make it easy for them to enter the country. It is normal for democrat politicians to have little or no regard for state or federal law.

On Tuesdays, Branch 2 (felony traffic bond court) is by my estimate 75% illegals from Central America. I shall be notifying ICE to appear every time I have such a case there.

With this type of "productivity"- cutting the Council in half would have no impact on its effectiveness - BUT WOULD SAVE A LOT OF MONEY FOR THE CITY.
So, we have a federal law requiring we take an action, and a mayor openly refusing to obey that law. Actually, a mayor requiring us not to obey that law.
How is this legal?
Our mayor just raised our property taxes by at least $500 a house, but is purposely declining millions upon millions in federal funding by refusing to enforce federal immigration laws.
How long before there are more leaches (illegals and welfare queens) then there are taxpayers? Or have we already passed that point?
In all fairness, no governor can prevent a person from living in their state.
It's a hollow statement, but at least we know their position.
Out state is bankrupt. There are 22,144 CPS students that are homeless. (Report just out) We have God only knows how many other homeless people living in our city and country. We have, God only knows, how many living below the poverty line and we are going to open our borders? When is this country, state, city going to start taking care of the people that are in this country, legally, and stop trying to "save" everyone else? We must fix our problems at home first.

This fund was initially the idea of one of us....a blue shirt. This fund was created to help US....BLUE SHIRTS. The people on the board are very supportive of us. I was not there but in talking to people who were there the money raised at this function is going to be used to purchase, among other things, vests for the K-9 unit dogs and IFAK kits for officers in patrol. I really don't even know what else to say about the amount of negative comments in the post. What a shame. Then again it is probably the same guys bitching about Phil Cline's position on the CPMF board that are complaining about this. They probably also bitched that they had to pay $100.00 for a new vest. I hate to say it but Jodi was right. There are people on this job that would complain about how heavy a gold brick was if you gave them one.
I"ve known a couple of ASA's back in the day who would call ICE on some of my arrestees who were held at 26th st on a high bond amount. ICE was happy to oblige and take custody of them.
Just out of curiosity has anyone here dropped an annonymous phone call to ICE to inform them of an arrest they would be interested in?

Why don't we look at the past because history always repeats itself. Back in the late 70's early 80's the U. S. accepted Cuban refuges. Miami turned into the Wild West with drug dealers killing each other on the streets for years. Cocaine took over as the cash crop of South Florida and still today Miami and much of South Florida is run by these refuges that have become "legitimate businessmen." Not good for our country. As many others are questioning, why are middle eastern Muslim countries not welcoming these refuges? You want to send aid; food medicine etc fine. But to welcome thousands of desperate people into the US just isn't smart.
The compassion of the alderpersons is to be applauded. Chicago, the city with the brawny shoulders, can well receive and take care of these poor innocent suffering refugees from Syria. The more the better. They will be a welcome addition to the bubbling melting pot that is Chicago. Let a "Little Syria" grow up in our city. Help keep Chicago democratic, bring on the refugees.

Many of the letters in recent newspapers that are backing bringing in Syrians by the tens of thousands come from people who live in toney suburbs such as Wilmette and Barrington. You are aware that GI Joe was a thieving ass, right? He apparently stole from kids and killed himself like a coward instead of taking his medicine like a man.

Gotta disagree here. Within the borders of the U.S. there is already a certain level of potential threat. It isn't going away BUT it is constantly being monitored and anticipated. Now, If we take in Syrian/Iraqi refugees there will almost certainly be some terrorists trying to blend in also.
But if we do the opposite and deny thousands of legit refugees - who number among them many,many borderline angry and impressionable desperate young men - then we set the stage for a huge recruitment bonanza for ISIS. And those recruits will attack from the outside just as fervently as those Paris attackers.
The risk of isolationism poses greater risks than anything else in my opinion.

the thing is the Alderman and the Mayor and the yuppies think this city is successful because it's beautiful, thanks mostly to the lakefront. But cities are easily successful, meaning, financially, they are generally easy to maintain, due simply to the fact that there are so many people paying in. 3M people, and most don't use most of the crap available; parks, etc. So a city having financial problems is actually very strange, but in this nation of democratic liberals, most every city has financial problems. In all seriousness, cities, assuming no serious problems, should have no problem whatsoever remaining solvent. Most people do not realize this.

I'm not trying to justify wheather Cline should get paid or not. I'm simply saying the CPMF does an outstanding job. That said, The main point I was trying to get across is that there was a lot of negative things being said about the Chicago Police Foundation without anyone actually looking into what it is about. I personally know the officer who came up with the idea for the foundation. He was very concerned about what direction the foundation would go and worked for a long time trying to do what is right. As it stands right now today I can tell you no board members are paid to be on the board. In fact the board members PAY A LARGE "DONATION" -fee- in order to be a board member. Give it a chance before bad mouthing the foundation on the blog.
