- Two and a half months after the remains of a 2-year-old boy were found in Garfield Park Lagoon, Chicago police say they have been unable to make progress in the case because the couple who last took care of the child are refusing to cooperate.
"We have tried numerous times to contact these people so we can talk to them and have them help us in this investigation," Chicago Chief of Detectives Dean Andrews told reporters Thursday in an update on the investigation into the murder of Kyrian Knox, whose remains were discovered in the lagoon Labor Day weekend. "... As you can imagine, it's extremely frustrating because they are critical to this investigation."
In a rare move, officials released the names of the witnesses to the media, identifying the couple as Kamel Harris and Danyelle Foggs. Harris is the father of a friend of the boy's mother, Lanisha Knox, 24.
At a news conference at police headquarters, officials would not call the couple suspects in Kyrian's death.
Okay. These are the same people who took momma's calls for weeks and let her "talk" to Kyrian. Momma said Kyrian wouldn't talk, but she knew he was listening. We're going to say Kyrian wouldn't talk because he was chopped up, in a bag in Garfield Park Lagoon.
We'll even bet next week's Bears winnings (possibly up to 500 toothpicks), that the non-suspects have been talking with a lawyer, hence their non-cooperative state.

Too many babies, not enough adults.
I don't understand this investigation. Momma said that this couple was responsible for her child while she was in Iowa. Then child turns up dismembered in a lagoon in Chicago. Yet on the news they said detectives cannot get a warrant because no probable cause exists for this couple or their home and that they don't even have to cooperate? How does no P.C exist...? They were the last ones with this child before he ended up dead and dismembered. So apparently you can babysit, destroy someone's kid and not even have an eye perked at you when they don't come up legally? Wtf.

Better article. Chicago papers keep ignoring the fact the baby was not reported missing until 2 weeks after he was found. What'd they do, hand the child off to someone else? I can't believe these 2 are not suspects.

Typical. Say what you will about Andrews but I liked how he sounded yesterday's press conference. He put it in words to where the common clueless cook county voter might understand.

Why can't they be given sub poenas? Only suspects have a right to remain silent. Witnesses do not have Miranda rights.

Way too many Funny names associated with this case. I suspect the lazy mother murdered the kid and had her friend arrange a disposal. The mothers stories are so convoluted that one could believe Hillary was her coach. All the movement and time between Iowa, Wisconsin, Rockford and Chicago not a soul knows exactly the last time the kid was seen, even in the day and age of the free ObamaFone® call logs. .
These lazy crackheads were more concerned about collecting the Tristate Welfare Roundup Link cards than the 2 yr old.

How many children in the African American community are raised by their own parents? It is startling to many of us to learn that most children are fobbed off on grandparents, aunts and uncles.
The thought of handing off a child to an acquaintance is incomprehensible, but it is probably all of our fault due to the institution of slavery debasing black family structures.
No one reported the boy missing until the body parts were recovered. Unreal!

How about convening a Grand Jury investigation? Body found in Cook County....subpoena all witnesses....subpoena all cell phone records, WIC card usage, where the LINK cards were used and when for all persons involved.....in this day and age of computer tracking via use of the above, along with video footage from stores, there is absolutely no reason to not be able to figure out who was where, when.
When they did stop buying diapers? When did they stop buying formula or milk and cereal? Do I have to come back from retirement as an Advisor?

When you are really and truly GUILTY, listen to your immoral, money grubbing lawyer. He may be able to let you get away with murder and he/she will sleep like a baby.

Honey, it wasn/t slavery that "debased" the black family structure - it was Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society" programs that paid black men to abandon their families and paid black women to reproduce. The black illegitimacy rate was 25% before 1967, and places like Harlem and Chicago's South Side actually had intact families living there. The black illegitimacy rate skyrocketed after Great Society was in place to 75%, with white illegitimacy going from 7% to 37%. Bleeding hearts made broken homes the norm; the news stories you see today are the consequences. But we shouldn't judge, should we??
Meanwhile 14 years later, the Bradley Sisters case still remains unsolved.
