I-Bonds for 25 Kilos?

  • Law enforcement officials in Chicago are incensed that three men charged with having millions of dollars in heroin and cash were released by a Cook County judge. Now, those men have now disappeared.

With nothing more than a promise, the three drug suspects - all Mexican nationals - were allowed to go free in a case that has riled law enforcement.

Investigators say the men are not just street dealers. They tell the I-Team that at least two of three have connections to a Mexican drug cartel and should have faced high bonds. Instead, they are free on I-Bonds and are now fugitives.

[...]Cook County Judge Maria Kuriakis Ciesel ruled against prosecutors and gave the men I-bonds; the judge questioning the legality of the apartment search.
$900,000 in cash and 25 kilos? We imagine that there are a few people looking for these guys and when located, will deal with them a bit more harshly than the Cook County "justice" system.

A judge named Maria allows these guys to receive I-Bonds? Gotcha.

Sounds like she went outside her job description which was to conduct a bond hearing, not a probable cause hearing.

Sanctuary City! Welcoming City!

Others posting here are right. Chicago has become ungovernable and unpoliceable.

Just another irresponsible Liberal Democrat Judge who undermines law enforcement and makes the streets less safe. There is no fear of the justice system if you're a "real" criminal in cook county. I'm amazed each time a "heinous" crime is committed by someone who would have been locked up with the key thrown away 30 arrests ago in most (red)states. And if you're dirty in car, don't stop for the police because they can't chase you, no one stops anymore. I've observed quite a few officers being very proactive this week, god bless you, I respect you...but family first. Don't be hung out to dry for doing your job.

WTF??? If you question the search, hold a #&%@$% hearing! Set the bonds for or better yet NO BAIL for Mexican Nationals that you know will flee. (Unless you are a Chitcago Judge I guess.) If the hearing says the search was bad, then you can set lower bails.

Where does the Chitcago Machine find these idiot judges?

As long as you have an inventory slip or court papers the cartels look at this as a cost of doing business.

I remember a judge in gun court at grand/central who had a rotating wheel on the wall with different amounts written on it. Each case he would spin the wheel and wherever it stopped was your I- bond amount. It was entertaining and he said that with the overcrowded jail he was saving time and efforts to just I-bond people there rather than having them transported all the way to 26 street to get their I-bonds! Things never seem to change...

I-Bonds where there should have been some serious cash posted instead? Big deal. This is very typical of judges in Cook County. It happens ALL the time. No surprise here. It would be a surprise if the I-Team did a story about how often I-bonds are issued in cases(where they probably shouldn't be) really are!

What The Fuck? over. Is that judge nuts? 25 Kilos is Fifty-Five fucking Pounds!! What did she think? That these three assholes were going to use 55 Pounds of Heroin for their Personal Use????

Or.....did the word get down to all judges from Obama and his top lackeys in the DOJ that they're to treat all Drug Traffickers like goddamn Litterbugs. That no matter what the drug is, how much weight's involved, or even if those arrested are known illegals from a cartel, that they're to be cut loose.

Unfortunately I think that scenario is more likely than the judge being nuts. That cocksucker in our White House is determined to destroy this country -- any way he can!!

I was in bond court a couple of years ago. # Hispanics go up to the bench. Furst question is do you want your embassy contacted. Each caught with a kilo of coke. They all get I=bonds. I guess it was lost on the judge that the pirpose of bond is to guarantee your return to court. What are the odds you'll ever see these guys in court...

The whole system should be investigated including the SA office, the judges, the mayor and anyone remotely on that end. The police just bag 'em, what happens next is the bigger problem.
