Manufactured by Daley/Vaneko Electronics and Knitting mills.

SCC, since the brass won't can you inform your readers that there is a crew of four armed M/1s that have been terrorizing the north side in 18 and surrounding districts. They have done about a dozen robbers on the street at gun point in the last few days, stolen multiple vehicles, been involved in two "chases", smashed up two cpd vehicles monday night and are some pretty brazen shitheads as they just keep coming back. Driving a stolen white Jeep Cherokee they were in the sites of a 18th district car at around 12:15 this morning after committing two more armed robberies but 1899 told the unit to drop anchor and let them run. How fucking pitiful we have become.

Rights Group Slams Police Tasers
December 31, 2008
By: The Archives
A study by Amnesty International criticizes the Chicago Police Department's use of tasers.

Tasers are weapons that shoot electric darts used to incapacitate targets.

The group examined 98 autopsies of people hit by tasers in the United States.

The fatalities include the 2005 death of Chicagoan Ronald Haase.
Regarding issuing tasers to everyone.

Amnesty International's Dalia Hashad slams a Chicago police plan to add 2,500 new tasers.

HASHAD: Without having appropriate training, without the appropriate, independent, comprehensive medical testing on this weapon, this is certainly an invitation for disaster.

Amnesty International urges governments to abandon tasers or limit their use to life-threatening situations.

The Chicago police did not respond to our questions about the study or the taser purchase.

In the past, the department has defended tasers as an alternative to guns.

Don't tease me about the tattoo policy, SCC. That's great that knit cap is back. I gave up on the tattoo policy. Too many haters ( we looked like motor cycle gangs, thugs, very unprofessional, etc, etc) here. But, I don't remember any single citizen complain about officers' with tattoos. Yet, we see many Officers who are CHEAP and REFUSED to buy new uniform to replace their vest, pants, shirts, and sweaters that are very worn out. Officers who are WAY over weight. Appearance commands respect. Why don't the Supervisors address those Officers? Well, I know. We have too many important issues to tackle than Officers' having tatts. Anyway, have a safe and a Happy New Year to everyone!

I'm not a fan of visible tattoos in general. And personally I'd like to see them covered. I think it reflects poorly among the department and the officer, but that's just me.

However, it's a matter of what's written in the contract and from a contract law standpoint, that is what matters.

Yeah, love how they continue to recycle policies and orders to give the appearance that these useless administrators are somehow a productive necessity. Like the the new 13 page contact card order that was basically the same as the last one, tweaked of course to ensure adequate culpability rests upon anyone foolish enough to do proactive work. Nice to see they send out an officer/instructor who announces his whopping 10 years of experience, 7 of which he was assigned to a gang unit, adorned with enough awards plastered to his chest it would give a 5 star military general war veteran a hard-on, to give the roll calls another poorly produced (and overly expensive) streaming video regarding the new system and answer questions. Every officer in roll call had shoes older than the "instructor"; the looks on their faces was priceless.

I have heard any number of legit chases terminated by bosses lately. It is frustrating as hell for those of us that still enjoy real police work once in awhile, but on the flip side it may very well be the right thing to do. We can get wrapped up and excited and shit ends up going sideways, in our minds it is still for the right reasons, but the fall out can be heavy. Keep in mind if they get away and nobody is hurt or killed you still win, get them another day.

Right now R&D is working on a safety batting helmet with a removable fur liner to replace both the knit cap and the baseball cap. It will have an optional face mask and make all members invulnerable to baseball bat attack. It will have attachment points for cameras and tasers. Just start working out those neck muscles.

They're spinning this study. The fact is the vast majority of people who died after being hit with a taser had some per-existing condition that, while perhaps exasperated by the taser, was the cause of death, not the taser strike itself. There's all kinds of studies to support this. Amnesty International should go back to putting on concerts instead of dirtying up the police.

Officer, that is the appropriate response. If you are chasing someone in a vehicle pursuit then all of the liability falls on your shoulder if something goes wrong. However, if you catch the bad guys you get a -DEPARTMENT COMMENDATION AWARD. If you are wrong; you lose your job or perhaps your freedom. If the department wants us to chase then let them change the vehicle pursuit order. Remember, you are supposed to continually and progressively engage in "the balancing test" and all the department as to do is say: "the officer did not conduct the balancing test" and you are fucked.

Whoever you are please go get some help. Its alarming how much time you spend obsessing over this person. That you know so much about her comings and goings rises to the level of stalking. The fact that you followed her daily schedule from the academy to R&D is even more alarming. You continuously interrupt important threads to post your maniacal rantings.I would tell you to get over it but it's clear that you are beyond that. I hope that the target of your obsession is aware of it and is taking precautions.
