A Tiny Gesture

This is over by one of the pumps:

We won't say where in case someone without the appreciation for the police decided to take matters into their own hands, but thanks to the unnamed workers who put this up. We've gotten more than a few photos of this particular sign and it makes our day.

A lot of people want you patrolling their neighborhoods can't say much. The noisy people drown them out.

What's going on with DNAinfo -- two positive stories about officers in 012 last week!

This one shows that it's the little things we do for taxpayers that makes a big difference. Thanks, Off Lambert for making us look good.

https://www.dnainfo.com/chicago/20160122/ukrainian-village/rescue-chicago-style-cop-gets-teacher-with-broken-bike-school-on-time

In the comments:

This from the Ukrainian Village Neighborhood Watch page. It was posted on Christmas Day. "Last night about 1 am I saw an older lady with a walker making her way down Oakley north of Chicago. I thought about stopping, but didn't. I felt guilty and circled and went back. When I got there I saw a guy get out of an SUV and walk towards her. I pulled out my phone to call 911, but then saw him take off his coat and could see he was a cop in uniform. I put down my window and heard him say, Don't worry, I'm a Chicago Police Officer on my way home. I just want to make sure you get home okay, too. Do you live nearby? The lady said she lived a couple of houses down, so the officer stood by until she got in her house okay. With all the protests about cops now, I wanted to let people know what I saw a cop do when he didn't know anyone was watching."

And check out this quote from a taxpayer about the officers who arrested a repeat offender who'd been robbing young moms and their kids at gunpoint in a neighborhood of $500k homes:

"I cannot speak highly enough of the members of the 12th District's robbery-burglary team," Shepherd said. "They are dedicated, tenacious and are truly committed to serving and protecting the residents of our area. This is not the first bad guy they have either tracked down or caught in the act. We are lucky to have them assigned here."

If Cmdr. bobble head wasn't there, I might want to bid in!

This is much better than the "tiny" gesture the FLOP gave the mayor when they both agreed to stiff us out of our overtime retro pay.

A nice reminder for our co-workers that keeps posting the "I'm not doing a damn thing" on this blog. Believe it or not, MOST of the people in the city of Chicago feel THIS way, so stop posting like a spoiled child. Is it bad, sure, but that's our job. No one appreciates the man on the gate until the wolf arrives. You should have known that when you signed on.

I am pretty sure that when called you come, but the regular people that read this blog see it, it may give them pause. Quite frankly we need all our friends to be 100% these days.

There are a lot more of us civilians who feel that way than you could imagine. We're just not loud and getting in people's faces. I had my share of moving violations when I was young and stupid but I didn't get a permanent attitude against the cops. Three speeding tickets in 2 weeks IS pretty stupid.

I spent some time in the service of Uncle Sam back in the mid-60's with two CPD guys. Not related but both named Murphy. Two of the most stand up guys I ever met. We all got through that shit storm and got back home relatively unscathed, but lost contact with them. It takes a special kind of person to be a cop. A lot better person than I am. Thanks for everything guys. Stay safe.

Several times a year former Congressman now radio talk show host Joe Walsh sponsors "Thank You Blue" marches to show support for the Police in various suburbs across the area. The response from the citizens in the various towns in Lake and McHenry counties has been astounding. I encourage you to listen to him on 560am starting at 1700 and to go to his website and look for a march this spring, summer or fall that may be good for your location and schedule and then participate in one or more. This year I hope to be convince him to bring one or more to Chicago. No, it will not be in Englewood but it might be in Edison Park,Norwood Park or maybe somewhere on the southside like in Beverly or Mt. Greenwood if I can talk him into it.

There is much more support for the Police out there than you might think. Once you get away from Chicago/Cook you see that normal thinking people realize what is going on in todays society with things like the Black Lies Matter movement and their charade as well as the catering and pandering to the criminal element that seeks to destroy everything that is good in America.
Stay safe.

Cod liver oil is horrible.
Unripe bananas are horrible.
Stepping in goose shit is horrible.

Best Advice: Avoid the Horrible.

"It may give them pause"

Aghast...dumbshit that's exactly what is needed. The city, county, state, and country is falling apart. People need to know how mush the ISR's and time/distance,CIT use of force de-escalante is a loose bowel movement that is going to cause everyone to die from dehydration.

Literally, the socialist sky is falling upon America.

Thank you to whomever did this nice gesture! On another note to the skokie officers that did this rotten thing to another copper by having his name spread all over the cover of the sun-times for having a look alike police car that you can buy from any dealer look here skokie cowards are you going to issue alerts on all these squad cars for sale on ebay?

http://www.ebay.com/sch/Cars-Trucks-/6001/i.html?_from=R40&_sac=1&_nkw=police+car&_vxp=mtr

What cowrdly boss allowed this to be put out? You know you can run a plate and find out if he/she is an officer if you don't know how to do it just resign. Now on another note johnny escalante on you going to hang your hat on this attack? attacking a copper for literally nothing? the car has "clear lights" you can buy them like this used! police departments sell this cars on a regular basis with equipment to another officer some coppers like the look, personally I don't want to be the "police" when I am working why would I be that when I am off, but it is a personal preference damaging a coppers name possibly his career john man up ridiculous!

"No one appreciates the man on the gate until the wolf arrives." wow, and you are one of the hardo's out there who have no clue. let me guess, you have that awesome little quote on the bottom of your CPD email or something stupid like that. Hey superhero, this is real life... Not some TV crime drama. You are on the hook for alot when you decide to lock somebody up or just stop a group of guys walking down the street just because "it looks like a good stop." listen hard, those days are done and long gone. ACLU is reading every single ISR report. They are looking at every single arrest report. The feds are here looking at every beef that rolls out now. Make sure you cross your T's and dot your I's because police work is gone! For some unknown reason im still in a unit that demands activity... Since november our entire unit besides a few idiots have come in with nothing.. zero activity. Ill ride it out until they disband us because we are all doing nothing and go back to the district like everyone else... You sound like one of the morons still doing work on a tac, saturation or gun team goof who is still wanting to knock it down like the old days. Beefs are going to get looked at a whole lot harder. IPRA is going to start finding these things sustained and roll the dice they will be able to uphold it down the road from appeals and beefs from the FOP. The FOP is going to be irrelevant soon. The city needs to show numbers of more officers getting disciplined on these CR numbers. but i know mr sheepdog pud boy, you have it all figured out....

We sometimes need a pat on the back from the good people out there. We don't expect Rahmulus to pay into our pension fund as he hires so called experts to dissect the CPD to the tune of $350.00 an hour. We don't expect Ramsey to take the job "pro bono" as payback to the city which gave him the rank to take his skills elsewhere. But the appreciative comments & gestures will allow us to take heed of Mike Ditka's famous phrase "This too, shall pass." When hear the #blm nonsense and the Laquan Legacy.

1/25/2016 05:27:00 AM.............. BRAVO! Retired, minding my own biz, starting a biz,new chapter, always armed.Relatives, friends etc. are asking,"so if I'm getting my a** beat and robbed are the Police going to keep going ? I follow the law, work, pay taxes and I like the Police, why wouldn't they protect me ?" I answer that quiver lipped question way too often these days Brothers and Sisters, the public is told you are no good and you,in righteous frustration are in the other ear with "I aint doin sh*t". Yes you are being pounded to further an agenda that is not of your doing and you have no choice but to react to that situation, you have every right to be pissed off in a big way,but please be careful what you say, those good citizens you "serve and protect" think you don't love them and they have and always will love you,you just don't have much contact with them...they live right. God bless all of you and all of them.

See the article in the times today of the copper playing police off duty in a look a like unmarked. Skokie PD stopped the car he owns that looks like the real deal unmarked. I hope he did no harm stopping people off duty with that car. John Esco sent him to call back so he can play police doing gocr to his heart content.

This shit never ends. At least he could of covered Chicago districts off duty with no man power. Call back will have to move to the old Pershing Road building, it can hold thousands there, the rats there are police friendly when the TRU unit was based there.

So you are going to be a dog now? I am pretty sure you were a dog before, so no great loss here. Learn your job and do it correctly. If you are afraid to do it, or don't think you are smart enough to do it, quit.
