Jail Locked Down

  • A lockdown was lifted Tuesday evening at Cook County Jail, where there are 9,000 inmates and staffing of correctional officers is a matter of personal safety.

When 18 percent of them called in and said they wouldn't be at work, it was sizable enough to create a safety problem. Jail officials said this is something that happens all too frequently - before holidays, after a snowfall, or with a big sporting event.

Things are returning to normal right now here at the Cook County Jail with regular staffing now in place for the 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. shift after 142 correctional officers didn't show for the morning shift. That is almost twice as many as normal.
But Dart has shut down how many Divisions? Released how many inmates? Seems like everyone is trying to get by on the cheap lately.

Here's an idea, have rotating days off instead of set days off. So if you want a weekend off you won't have to use days/call in, eventually you will get a weekend off. I worked at county for a few years, I had Tuesday/Wednesday off, it sucked.

Heard it has gotten really bad at the jail over the last few years with moral and shortages. A lot of bad leadership starting with that political hack Dart. Never saw that bum wear a tie and he's an elected official. Those sheriff's have always had a tuff job. Time to get rid of Dart also.

Get by on the cheap? He has opened the exit doors and closed the entrance door, kind of like our borders. No big deal that there are more violent savages living among us to create murder and mayhem who belong in jail, right Tommy. After all public safety is no longer a service provided by our government. Communist, treasonous Bas*ards.

I don't care about moral or safety... I am concerned if any of the deputies are in uniform--- no bootleg outfitting it, no tattoos are showing, everyone has a tie and round hat on

Cook County jail population surges

September 13, 2013

"The population of the Cook County jail is on the rise, and the jail now houses more inmates in one place than any other jail in the country.

"The inmate population is up more than 10% in the past two years, and surpasses 10,000 on some days.

"A primary reason is the closure of state mental health facilities and the subsequent arrest of former mental patients for new crimes."

So look at all the money we're saving, and look at how much safer we all are.

What was that? 250 inmates on electronic monitoring simply can't be located?

>Snip< and away we go...

The entire Crook County System is dysfunctional. From Sheriif to the Board president.
So who is complaining, Dart or PrickWrinkle that the inmates can't have a free run of all the taxpayer provided amenities ?
Jail lockdowns should be there norm, as the Tarrant County, Texas Sheriff told the Afluenza Mom, "this is jail, not a resort".
Here, it's pamper the folks.

I like to see solidarity like that.
Rahm would shit a brick if that kind of percentage in CPD hit the medical on a given day.

Does Dart still have the Sheriff car stationed in front of his house? Nothing to worry about for him.
