Police haters everywhere, even when one of our own is down.
P.O. from rollover accident in 014 is in good condition but at Illinios Masonic for observation overnight. A courtesy unit has been with him since the accident to assist him and his family, as we always do. We take care of own. But apparently the overnight head nurse on the floor isn't having it and ran out the beat car. Total loss of words.... Hope karma takes care of her.

FOP for the second year in a row is doing nothing in Springfield. No one is down there fighting for us. We have not one piece of legislation that we introduced in Springfield. How is this possible? What is your strategy Dean to help us? I was told yesterday that you pulled people off committees because you don't like them. This administration is a joke. I hope someone is stepping up to put Dean out. We need help out here and this guy and his board is doing nothing but rubber stamping what Dean wants. Sad!
When I got the endorsement emails I immediately replied with a comment about supporting the idiot who brought us ISR. I've yet to hear back.
Kwame Raoul, the sponsor of the idiotic ACLU legislation, who proclaimed that if a police officer fails to follow the dictates of that law should be charged and prosecuted for Official Misconduct.
I don't even bother to look to see who they endorse any more and always voted for the person they didn't endorse when I did.

Lampkin. FLOP does it again......requesting a"Go fund me page" for political sponsorship. No other reason for over half of these endorsements. Political hacks...judges who have made a career of NOT knowing the law and having their cases reviewed and overturned so many times that they are now reviewing cases. Unfortunately the FOP doesn't get it. I think all the police unions along with the fire department union should look to run 10 to 15 alderman half Police & Fire throughout the city. The two unions should actively recruit members, will kick into a campaign starter fund and help get members to work the campaign. In doing so will start to form a 1st responder caucus which will be a our political voice and will give for a stronger leverage at the bargaining table. We can be a strong voting block but we just cower to the Democrats. Failure to vote against them is OUR own fault.

If you're driving down the Kennedy at 80 mph and the engine light goes on and the car over heats do you pull over and minimize the damage or do you go balls out and blow the engine? Use the head on top of your shoulders when making political decisions.

Say what you will about the FOP and its leadership, but please do not impune the reputation or integrity of Justice Bertina Lampkin. Anyone who has spent any time in court over the last twenty-five years or so, should be aware of her impeccable record and the respect she has shown to Police Officers. You may not have always liked the outcome of a particular case, but I'm sure you were treated fairly. Her presence on the Illinois Appelate Court is good for justice and I would hope we all vote for her.

Funny. 41st Ward Alderman was against the Pot Clinic being issued a Special Use permit and voted against it at the December 18th City Council meeting. He is catching flack because of his stand on the OHare noise compatibility issues. He has also taken care to help put an ordinance amendment into discussion to remove the need for city residents that own a pickup truck or a van with the Small Truck or Large Passenger city sticker to also have to have the Pickup Truck/Van Residential Parking permit sticker (if/when passed in committee, all you will need is to have a City Sticker on your passenger use only Pickup or Van. Only time you'd get that PITA Residential Street truck ticket would be if your city sticker was expired.). He has also convinced Finance Parking Enforcement to stop issuing Parkway violation tickets on the really narrow streets in he Ward (like Oriole near Touhy for example.).
As for rude staff. Never seen them be rude when I've been in the Ward office.

How does this happen? Think about it guys.... the union sees its not what you know but who you know in this city....Do you think they gove a damn about your dues money? No they give a damn about getting some themselves. You guys really want to see a change? Decertify the union anf let an out of state union with no vested interests protect our contractual rights.... but no most of you wont take action until the ship is sinking.

You're full of it. For the first times in years, the side streets are finally getting repaired. Mary O'Connor let the streets get to conditions that resembled a third world country. Finally, they're being repaired.
As far as his office staff, they're very polite and helpful and they get things done. I've called a few times for pot holes and they were repaired within a week.
So far he's been a great alderman and has gotten more done in a few months than Mary O'Connor ever has.
If the endorsed name has a D (for douche bag) next to it I ignore it.

Did it occur to anyone that the Politicians are laughing at us when they see the dissension amongst the ranks in the comments section of this blog. FOP is all we have. We should be working to make it strong. They should not do endorsements. Their job is to protect us and get us the best benefits possible. Our job is to elect the right people and support the union. My guys are on vacation but here's what they told me before they left - Jimmy owes about half of that figure. Billy owes about twice what Jimmy owes plus what ever what the award is in the Shields suit. Have to wait for the Shields suit to end to know the final amount. If Billy, Frankie, Sid, Richie et. al. try to run again they will bring charges on them even if the Shields lawsuit in not over. They wonder when the shoe drops on Frank. Rumor is if Jimmy gives up his co-conspirators he can just walk away.

I could care less about all this shit. But really pisses me off is I have also been informed that the same ip address was used to anonymously to try to get cr#s against other The Dic and IAD Sgt.'s knew who he was within a hours. I hope those old farts now sue his ass in civil court.
I do agree with the endorsement of ASA Mike O'Malley for Judge. Good guy always a friend of the Police. Kevin McDevitt for Water Rec good also. Qualified and the father of PO Brian McDevitt, who was killed off duty in a accident 2-3 years ago. Mike Malatesta for Judge in the 10 District also good choice, qualified, friend of the Police. All are endorsed by Anthony Napolitano (CPD/CFD) 41 St Ward.
As for the the Alderman from the 41st Ward doing nothing is far from the truth. I live in 41 and ave nothing but good things to say about him. He voted against the tax increase, stopped the cell phone tower at St. Eugenes. Fixes streets throughout the Ward, not just in O'Connors favorite areas. His office has been great to deal with and he is a full time Alderman. O'Connor, Mulroe and Tim Heneghan don't like him because he is not Irish. How dare a Italian become Alderman!! Well the truth s that he has more Irish, CPD and CFD friends then all of the above put together. So fuck off Mulroe and company.

Hey DETECTIVE.....here's a POPULAR CASE I'd like to share with everyone that BERNITA LAMPKIN had in front of her.
This is the same BERNITA LAMPKIN who allowed one Sean Gaston, who was on her probation for uuw to miss home checks and piss hot two times. After NOT violating GASTONS probation MR GASTON SHOT AND KILLED A CHICAGO POLICE OFFICER. So let's not FORGET her decision NOT to violate mr. gaston for his NUMEROUS PROBATION VIOLATIONS.
Remember to remove these hacks from.holding anymore public service positions. LAMPKIN allowed a dangerous FELON to thumb his nose at the law. She allowed this POS to roam the streets and ending up killing a CPD officer.

Gaston, a member of the Gangster Disciples street gang, was arrested in 2007 for carrying a loaded handgun. He pleaded guilty to the charge of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, a felony.
In that case, he was granted probation by Cook County Circuit Judge Bertina Lampkin, not unusual for someone with misdemeanors but no felonies on his record.
Prosecutors said Gaston violated the terms of his probation by twice testing positive for marijuana and for failing to perform community service as ordered.
Gaston obviously wasn't someone police and probation officers ignored. He was on their radar.
Common sense suggests that Judge Lampkin, a former prosecutor with a reputation as being pro-prosecutor, would have been angry with Gaston's repeat violations of her mercy.
You might think she'd order a gangbanger with a gun who thumbs his nose at the system to at least be held on a high bond, so he could think things over in the county jail.
But this is Cook County.
And cops and judges and prosecutors are hauling water with a sieve.
"They just don't take gun cases seriously," said a ranking officer in line with me at Valadez's wake, on the day before he was to be buried. "You'd think they'd take them seriously, but they don't."
Our politicians make lots of noise when it comes to guns and violence. They make speeches and stand in front of the cameras and shake their fingers in anger.
But the woman who was raped in the suburbs and now has a gun in the drawer isn't the problem. The old guy in the city -- feeling he must violate the city's handgun ban because he's not a politician with bodyguards but an old man alone -- is not the problem.
The problem is this: thugs with guns. And if they violate probation on gun charges, they should be incarcerated.
But on May 19, Judge Lampkin continued Gaston's probation violation case to July 7, records show. So Gaston walked out of the criminal courthouse at 26th and California. He didn't have to put up any money. All he had to do was sign his name and walk free.
Thirteen days later, Officer Valadez was dead.
So to sum this up "detective in the know" you dont know wtf you are typing. If you did then you'd realize JUDGE LAMPKIN'S inability to do HER FUCKING JOB got a CHICAGO COP killed by a CONVICTED FELON WHO was on her probation and violated it NUMEROUS FUCKING TIMES. In typical Democratic fashion they bring in Henegan, a fireman, to run for committeeman against the Napolitano's (fireman) guy. Thanks for posting the info about judge Lampkin. People have short memories and sometimes forget things. I'll be voting NO for her. She messed up and a cpd member was killed because of it. Nothing more needs to be said to me. Hopefully alot of us will follow this and vote NO.

You do know she is running unopposed so you cannot vote against her?
You do know you DONT have to vote for her. The poster has a good point. FLOP is endorsing someone who failed to do her job and by that actions it got a CHICAGO POLICE OFFICER KILLED.
a simple Google search of lampkin would've saved the FLOP alot of headaches.
But it's business as usual. It's a Damn shame that we can't remember our fallen heroes and keep those responsible from being in a position to harm others.
