She was running around like a chicken with no head around the station clueless as could be ranting and wanting to know where EVERY CAR was when the shooting occurred. She has addressed the roll calls and has given her clear expectations and accountability of what she wants from each and every beat car. Too bad nobody gives a shit or respects yo ass girlfriend. We know how you got them bars.
So, hurry up and make your call and get back to 35th St. because nobody is going to put themselves out and get ISR's to make yo ass look good. The men on the watch just ignore her but the women on the watch CANT stand her condescending ass.
Too bad the DOJ isn't looking into the crooked promotional system.

There have been several complaints of cheating and compromising of classified information regarding the Lt’s Examination. The Department of Justice has been informed. An investigation will search for patterns of unconstitutional policing practices throughout the police force. The officers involved should be held accountable! The department rushed the promotion of these suspects from the new Lt's list.
Hopefully the CPD will be proactive and avoid another negative media press release by holding off more promotions from the new list until the investigation is completed. Time for the DOJ to put an end to this group of house mouse of cheaters.

A little confused regarding the animosity here. There is a common mantra repeated on the blog when it comes to promotional lists, that the ranked are the only “legit” candidates. Yet now we are bashing Al’s wife.
How can this be? Wasn’t she ranked number 1? By all accounts that means she “legitimately” bested the other 800+ Sergeants eligible to take the test, including the sudden genius of CP and all the other members of NOBLE, LAPA, the other house mice as well as the IAD super group.
There is not a name in that class that can’t be connected to someone or a favor. Be it the current farce of a list, the JRD special study group and personal proctoring of her BFF’s test fiasco, the Cline fix or Mauer’s Marauders, the first few rounds of every Lt’s promotion class are far from “legit”.
As far as MH goes, why reward her by putting her back inside. Yea it’s a risk, but leave her in the field where she falls on her face, perhaps get’s sued a couple of times like the rest of the “working” police. Just hope that her lack of leadership doesn’t adversely affect the rest of the watch.
DOJ has way too much investigating on its plate in what is the city of chi... I would hate to be an investigator for the DOJ

I sure hope the feds do look into the promotional system that is rigged for the political class. Imagine, lawyers, at least three that I know of, made merit lieutenant and then gold stars soon after. You mean, they could not pass a written test? Imagine that? Maybe the feds will now understand why morale is down the drain when they see that the majority of the command ranks of the CPD are merit promoted, political hacks who have gone up the ranks with multiple appointments, too dumb to pass a written examination. Then they will have the arrogance to tell you, " they deserve it", and tell you how to do your job when they have spent their career in administrative jobs or specialized units.
Unfortunately she like many hundreds of others are citywide and ruining this once great department. Code of silence ain't got shit on hiring and promotion practices in Chicago!
This thread could have said Capt King-Smith in 002. She is exactly the same way!!! King-Smith is career housemouse and triple merit who never leaves the station unless 10 plus officers are around her for an outdoor roll call. She rants and raves about your paperwork but she can't spell police work. She threatens the Sgts and Lts with suspensions for anything and everything. I get treated better by dude on the street than by her. We have an army of complete morons without an ounce of common sense running the department now. In the past you had goofballs at the top but at least they might have done some work. Now its just clowns at the top who couldn't fill out any of the paperwork the officers working the street have to do. They have no idea how to make an arrest and don't know what it entails to get a felony approved.

Remember that first lieutenants class. That's all that I'll say regarding that. How come Chief Eugene Williams is still around who is the leader of that study group and the last person from the department to review that test. If we can't trust him with an exam, how can you trust him with the whole department and city? Look at the hell that is being raised. Who would trust, respect or follow him? Nobody. That guy has 40 years plus on this department. Why is he still here? Oh, I know. Waiting to be named Superintendent so we can march to the tune of the ministers and politicians of Chicago. Another Rahm. Everyone knows his history. From the women, to the Sergeants who had the same issue as MH, none other than YB who was allegedly #2 on the Sergeants test who also went to 003 but is now hidden away in the Court Section. That dummy couldn't pass the State Exam two years ago for another cush spot he hand selected her for in Polygraph. YB, same officer who put in writing to the Medical Section that she could not work the street for years, but who has now miraculously recovered. What a joke! DOJ needs to look into all of that.
Getting really tired of having to sit and listen to these white shirts try and exhort us to do these stupid ISRs. Get with the times, you out-of-touch clueless over-promoted bunch of hacks. It's the white shirts pushing for activity that got us into this DOJ investigation/ACLU deal-with-the-devil in the first place.
The white shirts have this arrogance about them. They believe that the blue shirt working the watch is so dumb that you can tell them anything and they'll believe it ("If you do an ISR in a gang violence zone, you'll be ok! Really, you will be ok!"). And that the blue shirt is easily bullied. After all, if you're a blue shirt working the watch, you have to be so incredibly stupid that you were never able to score well on a promotional exam, or else you don't know anybody who can get you to a team or unit.
Yet nothing can be further from the truth.

Someone needs to submit a FOIA request and get a complete list of meritorious promotions. The last time they only included those after 2000 and cut off at 2011. A complete and up to date list will help show who has received multiple merit promotions and it would be fun to look for people on those lists that are now gold stars. The same gold stars who now try to shame or bully you into going out and bringing in activity they need to look good in front of other meritoriously promoted gold stars. It's the Chicago way.

If past is prologue , then the most incompetent will go directly to specialized units when they get their gold star for they are way too incompetent to run a district. Not saying that those that go to a district all that much better.

As much I don't care for Captain King-Smiths management style, she was not a merit promotion. She made Sgt and Lt off of her test score. Everyone who makes Captain can be considered merit, as they don't have a test for that rank.

At one time in my career I actually had respect for Wysinger, Jimmy Jackson, Gene Williams(until I went to New Orleans when he was there), Rivera, and a few others I could name. But when I finally saw how they got to where they did and had the people theyhad promoted, I saw it for what it really was. Race normed bullshit.

Very valid points made about a corrupt promotional process resulting in flawed leadership. Unfortunately, the DOJ could give a rat's ass about CPD promotions. They sure looked the other way when our pension fund was being looted and criminally underfunded. The Machine takes care of it's own, from the federal level on down.

Hate to rain on your parade, but if the DOJ won't prosecute Clinton under the Espionage Act, they are not going to concern themselves with human resource policies of a government agency UNLESS there is racial or gender discrimination (under Federal Civil Rights Acts) involved.
An in-house promotion system will not be considered until the Feds take over governance of CPD. And at that point, those receiving merit promotions wits the ideal candidates for the federal plan.
Don't count on the DOJ to solve anything. That is not their job. Police by the LAW and Abide by ALL Department GOs so you don't become the next for the DOJ.
