Judge Luckman Again

Good thing the "Rahm and Eddie Show" sent the Summer Mobile Force into the ghetto and not the lakefront:
  • A man is facing criminal charges in the stabbing of a volleyball player on his way home from North Avenue beach, according to Chicago police and the victim's account on social media.

On the night of July 17, the 46-year-old volleyball player said he was walking to his car in the 2000 block of North Lincoln Park West after playing at North Avenue beach when a man threw a "liquid substance" at him, according to Chicago police and the victim's Facebook post.

When the victim asked the man why he threw something at him, the man pulled a knife and stabbed him multiple times before running away, police said.
Someone should do something about criminals preying on citizens!

According to the Crime In Wrigelyville and Boystown blog, someone did do something about the criminal - let him out after being charged with not one, not two, not three, but four felonies:
  • How did the man accused of repeatedly stabbing a volleyball player near Lincoln Park Zoo last week get out of jail after being charged less than a month earlier with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of aggravated battery on the Near North Side?

The answer: Cook County Judge Marvin Luckman.
Despite two eyewitness identifications and four felony counts (Armed Robbery x2, Aggravated Battery x2), ol' Marv cut the guy lose with a finding of "no probable cause." Marv has been losing his marbles for years now, and losing touch with reality. If the Machine won't retire him, perhaps the Chief Judge should nudge him out. The police are arresting the right people - the judges are letting them go.

Let em go Luckman needs a psyche evaluation immediately. A fitness for duty as a judge should be implemented on him and he should be removed from the bench until he completes all necessary tests and evaluations.

If it's true the officers should have had it superceded the ruling after no PC. But I'm guessing it the paper or facts weren't right

I have done it plenty of times on cases I wanted to testify on and the judges are none the wiser

Have any of his No Probable Cause Releases killed anyone yet?

Or will it take the murder of some poor innocent for the Chief Judge to do the right thing?

Vote against retaining all the judges.

Get your friends and family to promise to do the same.

Let the "good" judges know that they are going to get booted if they don't clean their own house.

- we should do this with all our politicians!

All right - this guy has to go. You should be making a list of "undesirable" judges to be published around Election Time so ALL people can vote them out.

Your list would be VERY helpful to those who do not follow these "antics" of the incompetent.

It strikes me -- judge is an awful lot of power for one person to wield. Maybe we need a two-man system up there -- like in missile silos.

Checks and balances...

Instead of putting the pressure on old Marv, which doesn't seem to work, go after his superiors. Make life miserable enough for them (legally), and they may put 'ol Marv out to pasture.

Why in the world is there any probable cause to vote for Marvin Luckman? Why do you people vote for this first class jag off? Stop being stuck on stupid and keep re electing him. Secondly, where are the great investigative journalists on this? Marvin is just one reason why the voters repeatedly have to deal with street crime everywhere in Chicago. Why is he not caught on camera having to answer questions about his history of bias against law and order?

Luckman was strongly criticized in that article (as he should be), and I have seen him criticized here on SCC as well.

From the comments I have seen here and elsewhere, it is quite likely Luckman is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. I don't say this maliciously. I watched my father go thru Alzheimer’s, and it is a very sad thing.

That being said, Luckman has no business being on the bench. Instead of, or in addition to, voicing your complaints here, I suggest we flood the ARDC with complaints.

Send your complaints to:

Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission
130 E Randolph Drv #1500
Chicago IL 60601

In your complaint, you may wish to reference the Illinois Code of Professional Conduct Rule 1.1 on Competence, but you don't have to.

I don't know Luckman. I have never met him. But I do live a block away from where the stabbing took place and I really don't appreciate it that some judge who shouldn't be on the bench in the first place is letting dangerous criminals loose in my neighborhood.

Sincerely,

A Local Lawyer

Just keep moving him around until he causes a problem for someone's someone. Then the shit storm starts!

Chief Justice Evans is half fried also. The whole judicial system is rigged and imbalanced which also allows them to collect election campaign funds. Does that make fair sense? Only in Crook County.
There should be a mandatory retirement age for public office, or a drastic reduction in pay and pension for each year after age 65.
Did you know a judges pension is 80% of their salary?

It's too bad there isn't an effectiv Independent Judical Review Task Force.
Oops, I did NOT just create a new Crook County Department (also an 80% executive pension) !

The ghetto is everywhere these days. Back in the 70's, we told the hood rats to leave the area, and if they didn't they went to jail. Since we can't do that anymore, our only recourse, is to move as far away from them, as we can afford to do. And that is exactly what I plan to do.

His (deceased) cousin is Sid Luckman, the famous Bears QB. He got his juice through him years ago. Most of his contemporaries are dead, but he's still being taken care of via the Daley and Burke crime families. When not in the courtroom, you can find him on a barstool at Gibson's. He's quite the storyteller once you get a few cocktails in him. Liberal POS.

In my case... just to prove the (murderer) NOT GUILTY! It didn't matter, dude killed someone a year later. HIs reasoning for finding the murderer not guilty "you have lost all credibility Officer because I know your partner is a liar".......WOW.

You'll hear corporation counsel tell you how you the man and they're in your corner...in an office and courthouse. Someone wrote above about Cook County courts, remember Greylord? And I remember Gambit and so on. I seldom deal with criminal courts but in the civil division. We have a saying at work after one of our cases, a very good one came in 0 verdict. Do you know what the last thing is that is admitted to court in Cook County? The truth and I have seen it first hand on several cases. I am convinced that there are certain attorneys who have the ability to obtain favorable decisios from some judges and I am not sure why. I believe however given history that there may be something exchanged for these decisions. Now the next topic is the jury system who is equally unconcerned with the truth. They are concerned about constituencies.
