As a question how many of the "poets and activists" are actually carpet baggers that live nowhere near the actual areas that have these sorts of problems?
Isn't that ironic, now they're requesting the powers that be to have the Police to be a bit more aggressive to combat the thugs and the violence. Only to have the thugs challenge the Police and attempt to defeat arrest, and when through good intentions and good judgement, thug is seriously injured or dies, the Police is stripped and punished, fuck that. Who understands these politicians and leadership? Be careful out there, stay fetal.
If they want aggressive police then make citizens arrest. That's about as close as your going to get. They railroaded Commander Evens. Wasn't he in 011 District and look what they did to him.
Unfortunately there is a silent majority of black citizens who want law and order. In this case a little less silence would of been appreciated much earlier to quash the loud mouths.

As he handed her the Parker she was going off on a profanity laced tirade, calling us crackers and everything else. Lastly she said, "there's people gettin shot and dying all over the place, shouldn't yall be FIGHTING CRIME!" I leaned over and started laughing profusely, and we told her have a nice day.

I have to agree with you. After having worked in minority areas for 34 years, I found out that the majority of people living in those districts ( 006,007,005,010) want to have peace and law but remain trapped in in their homes. They are not vocal enough. They call the police and often. But, what they also want is respect and in some cases, far too many, do not get that respect from the police or they do not feel that they get respect because of verbal abuse or perceived verbal abuse. I think that is something that needs to be worked on.
Jones is the perfect example of the merit boss brain drain.
Cut paper and move on to the next job.
Not every black guy in Chicago is against CPD. Some of us like me appreciate what kind of scum you guys come into contact with every day. I live in Englewood and trust from what I have seen most of these douchebags need to be sterilized. If it means anything I appreciate you and I insist you ALL STAY FETAL. The people in the black community keep harboring criminals in our own neighborhoods but want police to do something when we are hit with a crime. Ridiculous!!! Can't have it both ways. A Carbondale police officer was last reported in serious condition after being shot late Sunday evening.
The Carbondale Police Department says around 11:38 p.m., officers were on patrol in the 700 block of North Robert A. Stalls Street when they determined gunshots were being fired.
While driving toward the source of the gunshots, they saw a tan four-door car driving away from the scene.
The officers started to pursue the tan car.
During the chase, a suspect fired several gunshots from the tan car.
The shots hit the police car and one of the officers inside.
The officer was taken to a local hospital and then transferred to a St.Louis area hospital.
He was last listed in serious condition.

LMAO. I remember when I worked in Unit 715, Public Housing South. It was so funny that I never read the editorials. Well one day I happened to read an editorial in either the Times or Trib but it went on to say that cops just harass everyone in PHS and PHW. And the cops should just leave us alone. The next day I read another article in the other paper which said cops don't do enough for the people of PHS/PHS. They don't stop anyone or challenge anyone. I had to laugh especially since they were literally a day apart in opposing newspapers each saying the exact opposite. You can't have it both ways.
I just don't get why the people who despise us the most call us the most??? Makes no sense to me at all. I've worked all over the city and always the same people calling about the same suspects. Thank you, sir! It really means a lot hearing people like you seeing what's going on and even understanding why we are going fetal. I can't tell you how boring and unfulfilling the job is now. Race and religion doesn't mean shit at the end of the day. I've met a lot of white people that hate the police, a lot actually, it's just a sick society we have now. I mean, we know who the bad guys are...tatts on their faces, hanging on the corners in crowds, shooting dice, MF-Ing the police, etc. we just can't do anything anymore. I feel bad because I want to make a difference and I realize that good people, such as yourself, exist and I would want to do anything, even if it means my physical safety, to help you. Our way of helping can be ugly (fights, weapons, yelling, bad language) but it is a necessary evil against the real bad people that exist in society. But society and the courts think we can hug the bad guys into submission, that we should be above the violence. That's just not the way the world works. It's just a sad situation but I really do say thank you and your support means the world to people like me...I just wish I could make more of a difference. Stay safe!

I actually have no beef with the "silent majority" in the black community. The thing I've realized is that else where, the "silent majority", just aren't vocal at all for some odd reason. Maybe out of fear of being thought of as insensitive? Where as in black/Hispanic communities, being to vocal or on the good side instead just playing the fence or flat out hating the cops, could mean life or death. Dad retired back in the early 2000s. Remember a story he told me and my brother (a suburban cop) about a woman who'd call 911 almost daily about the bangers on her block-- and apparently didn't give a damn who knew she was the one who called. The Black Stones wound up burning her out of her building. Also remember a few years back the guy in 011(?) shot right in the back of the head by the Souls for calling in on drug dealers to often. What's the most some one on the north side has to go through for being a little to vocal? Too bad the only thing we can offer them now is a recommendation to apply a CCW or move the hell out the millisecond you get the chance too.
